I'll watch anything with a high budget as long as its free.
And I probably would have been better off not seeing it, it did do a rather thorough job of ruining to previous four movies. Most notably, the first Batman movie.
Christian Bale did make a good angsty teenage bruce lee, but he wasn't much of a batman. I couldn't help but laugh each time he spoke in his 'batman' voice.
What isn't there to like about Batman? Lunar...

I can't relate to him.
I like comparing him to Spiderman.
Batman: Rich guy
Spiderman: always looking for more work.
Batman: uses money to get what he wants.
Spiderman: uses the only gift he's got. Spider power!
Batman: Fights crime because....why?
Spiderman: fights because 'with great power comes great responisbility'
Batman: lives in a made up city.
Spiderman: New York? I know New York!
Batman: inner struggle...where?
Spiderman: Dude always gets hit where it hurts the most. The people he loves.
I'll admit I don't know much about Batman.

I can see that.
Batman is a crazy guy in a suit with a bunch of "Q" like devices. He has no super powers. He has his lifetime of training, and his finacial basis for providing the things that he needs. I'd say that he's my favorite superhero because he kicks the crap out of supervillians with all sorts of magical powers when he doesn't have any.
I guess you can say he's the anti-thesis of Superman. Superman has EVERY super power. Batman has none.

I don't like Superman either, but that just gets down to prefernce, I suppose.
But that's why I don't like him. He kicks a**, he has tons of money, a great place to live...where's the struggle? Where's the character development?

Actually, I'd have to say Batman and Spiderman have quite a few things in common.
Started fighting evil because of the death of beloved family member(s)
Girlfriends always get into tight spots, or killed.
Best friend becomes his enemy.
Can't get close to people because they would get dragged in.
They are smart. Batman's a detective, Spidy has a huge IQ.
A lot of stuff like that, but they also have their differences.
SPiderman has super powers.
Batman is filthy rich
Spiderman gets to marry the girl of his dreams after many issues of heart throbing spintwisting action packed missadventures where she is killed or transported through portals etc.
Batman dies alone.
I think that SPidy and BM would make an excellent team.

My general dislike of batman. is not that he doesn't have powers. I like that he has to figure things out, he has to do some work and planning to get thing done. it's that no matter what happens, he has a gadget on his belt to completely neutralize it. I mean at least Superman had kryptonite. he coudln't touch that stuff and being in it's presence crippled him. but no matter what a supervillian throws at batman, his suit can handle the damage, or his belt has a gadget to neutralize.
