Having sensed another in the vicinity, Alexz allowed her mind to explore the area. She immediately detected Lance and lightly probed his mind to acquire information that was of importance to her. In less than a second she learned his name, age, race, appearance, and current state of mind.
A light chuckle made her cigarette bounce in her mouth. She couldn't help but to feel amused by his reaction to his sandwich. It never ceased to amaze her how much was taken for granted by the living. Legitimate food hadn't touched her lips in centuries and this boy couldn't bring himself to appreciate the sandwich in his hands.

Lance had finished his sandwich but blinked picking up from the border's of his hearing...laughter? From a girl? In the middle of a park, this late at night? Why would...oh. He turned a light shade of pink. One of the things that was never far from the front of a teenage boy's mind had presented itself as a possible answer. He stood and headed off to sit under a tree. He'd suddenly become rather aware there were bushes behind the bench he'd been at.

A long stream of smoke slipped from her lips and danced above her head. The rush of blood that painted his face with a light shade of pink was audible to a vampire. Her fangs involuntarily elongated for a moment before she forced them to retract. He moved and she realized how closely he had been seated. His steps took him a short distance further from her, but he was still close enough for her to hear his heart beating.
She chuckled again as he entertained the possibility of a young girl being in a park late at night. His youth amused her. It wasn't often that you caught a vampire thinking of silly possibilities. She often enjoyed listening to creatures who weren't plagued by immortality; their minds weren't nearly as serious.

"..." Lance stopped in his tracks hearing the chuckle again. He turned his head toward the source of the sound but only saw a young woman smoking. A very attractive young woman. He turned a slight shade deeper at his own thoughts and looknig away breathed in the night air trying to calm the red from his cheeks. He was a bit to distracted to sniff out the woman;s true nature. The cigarette didn't help either.

Alexz shifted in her seat so that her head wasn't draped over the back of the bench. Her eyes tried to meet his but he turned from her. His blushing made her gaze travel to his neck but it did not linger. Years of control had taught her better than to focus on the pulses of those around her.
"Aren't you rather young to be out this late, Lance?" she asked softly, her voice slightly tainted by the Void.

"I-I...wha...h-how do you know muh-my name?" He stammered and swallowed feeling his heartbeat speed up ever so slightly. He found himself pulling the collar of his jacket closer to his neck even though he still hadn't discerned that Alex was a vampire. "A-aren't you pretty young yourself..."
((Lance is a pup still. He's not going to be all that savvy. x3))

((I know, I read Lance's character bio X) )) "I'm older than the trees in this park," she said with a light laugh.
Alexz's features softened as she observed his behavior. It was rather adorable and she couldn't help but to feel younger just by being around him.
"I know it because you know it," she said with a grin.
She didn't want to confuse or frighten him by explaining her abilities. He seemed to be frightened enough already.

((Heh. x3))
"What is that supposed to me-" Lance gathered himself together enough to take a few sniffs at this point. He went pale. "Y-you're a vuh-vuh-vuh..." The poor boy had turned into a nervous wreck. He couldn't even finish the word.

"You act as if I just bit you," Alexz laughed.
His reaction was one she would expect from a human, not so much a lycan. But newborns were always very skittish when introduced to a world as dangerous as that of the supernaturals.
"I am a vampire, but being a vampire isn't like having the plague. You can calm yourself, it's not contagious," she joked with a wink.

Lance settled down slightly again but felt himself turn red at the wink. "A-aren't we supposed t-to b-be...like...enemies o-or something though...?"

She shrugged and took her cigarette between her index and middle fingers. She gently flicked the end of it, causing embers and ash to fall to the ground.
"If you want us to be, I suppose. I was never one for blind hatred," Alexz took another drag, "I'm afraid others don't feel the same."

"O-oh, no thank you miss. I don't want to be enemies..." Lance's cheeks if anything reddened a little more and in his attempt not to stare at Alexz was looking at his shoes. "I like having friends."

The warmth radiating from his body as blood rushed to his face could be felt by Alexz. She flexed her fingers as she felt the urge to touch his face and feel the warmth on her skin.
"My name is Alexz...and you don't have to look at the floor, looking at me won't turn you into stone, I promise," she grinned again.
