Jack spotted his target just as she ran round a corner, he was about to follow when another figure began searching the rooftops. He froze so as not to give his position away.

'This is all I need' He thought as he watched the newcomer
PostPosted: Sat Aug 01, 2009 12:49 pm

As the vampiress continued to search and nose around she seemed to stop abruptly as if something had caught her attention, perhaps an interesting conversation or something of the likes. She stopped to listen to whatever it was though she quit listening almost as quickly. A smirk now imbued her carefully sculped features, her gray eyes flickering to a frosty turquoise in her excitement. She'd been keeping a general scope upon the area and now she was arranging the collective thoughts she'd heard from each individual, filing through them but one's thoughts in particular were what made her smile. The killer was still very near and he'd even been so kind as to rule out buildings for her since she was walking along an alleyway and out back when she heard the inward thoughts, that left the rooftops.

Unfortunately, simply because she'd managed to catch a glimpse of his thoughts didn't mean she could directly pin point him. She would certainly have a bit of help and soon enough Corinne had completely disappeared from the alley she'd been searching and was now atop the rooves of New York city. Somewhere up here was a killer who would probably be hasty and assume she wished to harm him when she was simply curious to know what happened. For keeping to herself she certainly wasn't sticking to her rule for tonight. However, it wasn't everyday you happened across a crime scene so clearly laid out.

As she scanned the rooftops she rolled the bullet inbetween her fingers, patiently waiting for any sound or sign of movement to alert her to the killer's whereabouts. She could always try to talk the killer out of hiding but surely he was frightened and wouldn't willingly expose himself to her. Corinne would have to be prepared for some gun fire in case he got spooked by her presence though she was simply being nosy and investigating. She wasn't about to punish him for anything and she wasn't exactly the scariest vampire out there. Instead of searching the rooftops diligently, though, she simply stood still and waited for the vampire's confirmation that he could still see her. Perhaps there would be something else he would give away to her.

The little tidbit about his hesitation in losing his target going around a corner was also of interest and she now honed in nearer toward the end of the block seeing as she would have had to turn a corner there. She then stood still once again and waited patiently for the killer's confirmation. She was also prepared for any sign of movement signifying he was preparing to shoot her, any little flashes that might come off the metal of his gun. It wasn't the smartest idea, standing on practically open rooftops waiting to see if someone with a gun could see her but if they shot they'd just cause a riot again and would most certainly give away their position. At the same time, however, they could silence her with one perfect shot of the correct ammunition.

Corinne decided to place herself behind one roof's air conditioning unit, this way she had some cover and cut off a few angles seeing as the only way one would have a clear shot at he was if they were on the next building over. She was crouched but soon enough she eased up and came to sat, even lit up a cigarette while she was waiting. Perhaps her aloof manner would help the killer to calm down and realize she was more piddling around out of curiousity than anything or at the very least she wasn't fully intent on finding him. The cigarette came to her lips and she exhaled calmly into the evening, the smoke billowing upwards perhaps giving away her position if she'd accidentally disappeared from his vision.

((Two OOC notes: One, you'd have probably found it interesting that the supposed target wasn't wearing much more than a bodice and stockings with garters. Two, if your character has enough experience with firearms, you'd be able to tell that it was a UV bullet he fired at the random civilian.))

Amber smiled at her luck as she ducked around the corner, thanking the random vampire for letting an enemy escape. As soon as she was sure that she was no longer being followed, she hightailed it for Haven. She had some news to share with the others.

Jack watched as this newcomer appeared on the rooftops, he kept his crosshair fixed on her at all times, he smiled as she settled down behind an Air-Con unit and began smoking, she knew he was up here and was just playing with him now.

Heslowly reached into his webbing and brought out a small canister, in a flash he pulled the pin and hurled it towards the Air-Con unit. He started running towards it, eyes closed as the flash bang detonated, he leapt over the unit pistol in hand to confront the newcomer.

|| Not on my game today. sweatdrop ||

Corinne had realized the bullet was a UV round but she was not overly concerned about the consequences. Then again, this whoever had been stalking a girl that was a stripper or something so that was certainly interesting. A vampire lusting for a female vampire stripper? Probably not the weirdest thing she'd ever seen but certainly a strange sight nonetheless. However, for now she was just going to figure things out by first drawing the shooter out. She couldn't imagine they would sit there forever if they knew she was just fooling around and waiting for them to come out. Of course, that ran the risk of them shooting her since she had provided them with a still target but she figured it'd be a mighty hard shot since it'd closed off quite a few angles.

All the same the expectd disturbance happened and she heard something whizzing in the air toward her. With the swiftness of any vampire with their life potentially on the line, she dived out of the way of whatever had been hurled at her and hit the ground on the top of the building. She was faced the opposite direction but she realized when the building ground flashed around her that the shooter had thrown a flash bang at her in the hopes of blinding her. While it still managed to hurt her eyes and irriatate them highly she was by no means blind due to her facing away from the flash as it'd detonated though her peripherals were extremely annoyed.

In the process of diving out of the way she lost hold of her cigarette and dropped it off the side of the building. Seeing as she wasn't really addicted it didn't bother her overly though the flash bang and the vampire holding the pistol at her weren't as convenient or wanted. When the vampire aimed his pistol at her she made no move to attack him nor did she make any move for either of the two pistols she herself possessed. Her expression was a smile and her Finnish accent smoothly emmerged from her lips, "A little shaken up I see. Shooting civillians with UV bullets seems rather odd now doesn't it?"

'Collateral damage, I missed the target I was aiming for.' Jack said. He looked at the woman before him, he could bet that she was armed, but for now he didn't consider her much of a threat., 'So who the ******** are you and why are you bothering me? Or should I just shoot you now and be done with you?' He said.

Regardless if the girl had been an accidental target of such violence, the wound had been fatal. It was unfortunate for the woman, but it couldn't be helped now. With Holly gone, he would just follow orders and dispose of the body. He wouldn't be able to keep up, his body wasn't in such a condition, anyway.

Blood from the body had begun to pool beneath her. But, he need not worry about such details. There were people which had witnessed such an incident, so he had to be quick. His long arms quickly wrapped themselves around the stiffening body, rigor mortis having kicked in already. With a quick leap, Elyan began moving at a relatively swift pace. He would come back to find Holly after he had gotten rid of the body. And, she suggested that he feed from it?

Not that he would be picky, but he had never drunk from one who was already deceased. Yet, his body had already given a sure-fire sign that it didn't care. He had worn an evil grin on his face during the time when the bullet was extracted from the corpse. The blood triggered his vampiric senses. Even now, he wanted desperately to feed from it. The scent of blood had already flooded his nostrils, he found his eyes darting between the would and the direction he had been taking.

After he had moved the body quite a ways away from the scene of the crime, he couldn't take the self-inflicted torture anymore. He was going to feed, he couldn't help himself anymore at this point. Being already dead probably rested better upon Elyan conscious than if she had been alive, he couldn't accidentally kill her. He rested the body against the wall in a dark alleyway, pulling the wound closer to his mouth and allowing his tongue to lap-up the semi-warm blood. It was like an appetizer before a main course and deep down, he was enjoying every bit of it.

The truth which had scared him more than anything before was that he had never really minded the killing. In-fact, on some level, he gained a thrill from it all. But, that was a side of him he tried so hard to ignore. Why was it that he clung so tightly to the humanity he had given up almost six-hundred years ago? Ellie came to mind again. Was she trying to protect him from the evils which she feared would go against the innocent youth she had fallen in love with so long ago? Even if her intentions had been good, Holly was right, it had done him a great disservice. Because of both of their foolish acts, she was taken and he left as a weak vampire who couldn't get her back.

Before he had realized it, Elyan's fangs had penetrated into the pale flesh of the body not once, but multiple times. A dead body didn't have blood traveling throughout its veins and arteries, which made the extraction more time-consuming. By the time Elyan would have his fill, there would be a multitude of bite marks left in the body. His eyes were a dark, blood-red color as he fed. The corners of his mouth and his chin were dripping with blood, like a feral beast after a hunt. That's right, he was a beast. He extracted his fangs at last from her flesh. The body had been desecrated, but he now had to properly dispose of it, a true dishonor to the person whose soul once inhabited this vessel.

"May my apologizes reach you, wherever one goes once they die," he whispered as his head rose past the woman's head. The body now lay stiff on the ground. Death followed such exact rituals. From rigor mortis to decomposition, it all happened at certain times and intervals. Elyan stood there, examining the body before deciding that it was time to leave. With a mere thought, the body ignited. Elyan had much more control on such powers when he had blood in his system.

"Goodbye..." he mutter, before making a quick return to the area where Holly remained. He had only been gone for about eight minutes, tops.

Ed stopped the car next to the east river. "Get out Paulie." The frightened man sitting in the passenger seat obeyed. Ed followed him. "Ok now Im gonna give you a choice. Talk.." He pulled out his S&W Model 500, cocking it. "..or I can make sure you dont walk again." Paulie looked at him, fear in his eyes."You dont have to do this, we could work together, make more money. See?" Ed shook his head in disagreement. "Thats the difference between you and me Paulie. I have a sense of honor, I wouldnt betray the family." He shot one round into Paulie's kneecap. Ed put the barrel of his gun to Paulies head. "Now Im going to ask you a question, and I want you to answer truthfully. Ok?" Paulie looked up at him, nodding his head weakly. Ed looked down at him, revealing his fangs. "Do you fear death?" Paulie started to cry out in pain and fear. "Ill take that as a 'yes'." Ed sunk his fangs into Paulie's neck, drinking the coward's blood. As he pulled away, Paulie fell to the ground. Ed felt for a pulse, it was weak. He'd have to make sure Paulie didnt talk. He went to the trunk of the car and took out two cinderblocks and a chain. "Sorry about this Paulie." He tied the cinderblocks to Paulie's feet with the chain. He lifted the bodie over the edge of the bridge. Ed watched as the body sank to the bottom of the river. "Thats done with then. To think I left a night of indulgence for this."

[[Don't think I'm going to be online much in the next few days especially since I haven't been feeling well, I'm having Cos exit to keep you from waiting around too much.]]

“Better scoundrels than nothing at all. I'm practically royalty, everyone should worship me.” She hitched that perfect button nose into the air as she rambled off in a snooty tone. She honestly believed everything she said too, that was the worst of it. While she had no interest in taking over a filthy city, it would have been lovely to see everyone dropping what they were doing to present her with a bow wherever she went. It might have made venturing outdoors into the noise every evening slightly more bearable. In fact, She would just love to see Aiden bowing to her. Soon, he would. When he'll be lying in a pool of his own blood, Aiden will be on his knees gasping for life like a pathetic air-starved fish. And there Cosette would be, standing over the angelic boy and marveling at the sweet melody of his bones shattering, coupled with each one of his violent screams. Ever the musician, she'd preform a sick and twisted song with his body.
She was getting a little ahead of herself. She'd have to be patient, something that may prove a little difficult for the demanding little vampire. She was so accustomed to taking what she wanted, when and how she needed it. The only patience she commonly exerted was in the meticulous ways she murdered, but it soothed her to know the being was dying; if only by one crushed bone at a time. Catching Aiden in that sweet, deadly trap would test not only her acting skills but her control. Aiden was much too intelligent, knew just what ground her nerves. Surly he wondered just what it would take to cause the doll to snap, a curiosity he might put to test at any moment. Tormenting was something Cosette might just have to bare with a pasted smile if she truly wanted to make it through and destroy the pretty boy. Who knows, maybe this task would make her a 'better' person.

“So now that we've made good and passed all those lovely words, I have things I need to take care of.” Cosette muttered with a soft smile, speaking as she threaded a white hand through those golden curls, implying her needs were pure vanity. Sure, she wanted to change and comb her locks, but she also needed to consult an enemy. Hunters knew all sorts of fancy ways to snuff out her kind, Surly one knew of a way that Cosette's old-world mind might be able to grasp. Guns were too loud and tore at her delicate hearing. Blades were much too messy and she was too classy to touch one of those. They would have to know of something, if only to incapacitate Aiden for a few tantalizing moments.
Cosette waved her new 'friend' goodbye as a wicked little grin touched her lips, hinting at unspoken promise. The little blond simply vanished then, her lithe figure moving all too swift to be seen as she dashed away. It was obvious then that Cosette was talented and agile enough to have easily avoided Aiden's earlier stalking. When at any moment she could have simply disappeared, she'd stayed to analyze the angelic vampire. Everyone had something they could offer to Cosette, Aiden presented a challenge and an all too enticing and bloody reward waiting at the end.

[[Exit to someplace]]

dark_diablo_descendant

While Cosette could prove to be rather mood-swing, she did not simply change her mind for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Her grudges ran deep as did her intentions to harm and he knew she had extremely violent tendencies that were possibly as sadistic as his own. Unfortunately for Cosette, they both knew which of the two vampires were stronger. Not only did Aiden trump her in age but the void was certainly a deadly tool if one could operate it functionally. Aiden had years upon years of practice controlling the void and he could easily overcome her with it. The only thing he would really have to worry about in regards to Cosette was if she managed to get a hold of a weapon that could surely doom him. A gun, for instance, with UV bullets could easily turn her into his most dangerous threat. Something told him, though, that she’d never handled a fire gun in all of her petty years of life and that even if she managed to get a hold of one she likely wouldn’t know how to use it. Poor thing.

Cosette was wanting to mess with him for some reason, that much was clear. She was the type to keep her enemies closer than her friends but exactly what her plans for him were remained shrouded in mystery. That only made things more interesting and it would be an entertaining little puzzle to figure out. If she proved dangerous he could always bring the void into play and easily escape from her provided she didn’t catch him in a completely well lit room. She was a pre-planner though so he would have to watch out though this would mean keeping his guard up in the long run since she certainly wouldn’t attempt anything directly off the bat. She was going to try to reel him in as much as she could, make him comfortable, drop his guard.

Aiden shrugged nonchalantly, his cold blue eyes staring at Cosette as he did so. “I don’t know. I suppose I felt you took some of my jesting more serious than was intended.” Of course this was a flat out lie since his aim was not to joke around with her, it’d always been to anger her and upset her. Surely even Cosette realized this and he wondered what’d gotten into her that was making her willing to put such grudges behind her. Perhaps some form of revenge? Maybe she actually believed he was lonely and wanted him to think that she’d make a good companion when surely she wanted nothing to do with him and was disgusted by the very presence of him. Perhaps she was a better little actress than he’d taken her for but that was only part of the game she was playing. There was something more, his instinct told him so and he was going to find out what it was. Hopefully not before it was too late.

“A princess adored by scoundrels? Why ever would you care for that?” Aiden honestly had absolutely no interest in overtaking the city that was crumbling apart before their very eyes anyhow. What would he do with an absolute wasteland littered with grubby cops and dishonest crooks anyhow? Did he really want to rule over a city and keep order by having to deal with people’s petty issues? No if he overtook New York he would simply slaughter everyone, bathe in blood. It was much simpler, killing to negociating; he would take killing any time of the day over trying to compromise and work things out. And then came Cosette’s words of finalization, like a contract almost, a verbal one. He could hear the challenge behind her words and happily admitted himself into her game. “But of course I am. Allies we are.”

Corinne's peripherals were still slightly messed up so she was seeing occasional flashes and other such things out of the sides of her eyes, however, she didn't allow this to distract her. She smiled at his impatience and his willingness to so easily kill off one of his own. Why he was so hasty was beyond her though she supposed those that killed unintentionally were often on edge. "I was simply wondering why you were shooting humans with shells like these." She dropped the remainder of the UV bullet on the ground so that it rolled in front of him though it was hardly in tact as UV bullets tended not to. "I'm simply browsing out of curiousity being the passerby that I was. I don't think that's much of a reason to shoot me or try to blind me for that matter. Had I meant harm do you not think I would have been a little more to the point?"

She smiled to him and brushed her hair behind her ears before she sat up to prove that she wasn't going to come after him in attempts to dissarm him. The woman didn't seem very unsettled by the gun's presence in their conversation at all. "As for who I am, my name is Holly Sanders. I'm new to New York; I've only been here a few days. I would say it's nice to meet you but considering you're pointing a pistol at me I wouldn't be so quick to say so yet. As I mentioned before, though, I don't mean any harm, I simply wished to piece together the story. I'm not about to snitch on you if you're concerned because of your own interests or involvements in said coven of New York." She shrugged and then seemed to recall something and turned to give him an inquisitve expression, hand resting beneath her chin, "Why were you chasing a vampiric stripper, though? Seems odd, no? I'm assuming you were shooting at her when you missed and hit a human?"

'Come now Jack! Put your weapon away, this one was only curious. You can hardly fault her that, although I must say she shows courage in tracking you down.' A voice say behind her.

'I'm sorry mylord, I was just frustrated. I lost the woman I talked to you about and accidently shot an innocent.' Jack replied.

Kensington stepped forward, 'Ah well that is a problem. About the girl, what do you reckon? Was she working for 'them' or some other faction?'

'I reckon she was a hunter mylord, but I think now is not the time to discuss such matters.' Jack replied as he holstered his pistol.

'You're quite right Jack,' Kensington said. He turned to Corinne, 'I am Lord Reginald Kensington, I am sorry for my man's behaviour, but you have accidently stumbled upon a matter of great importance, more than that I cannot tell you, but suffice to say, I would not persue this matter if I were you, there may be a time when I need assistance, but for now I still do not have all the pieces.'

Amber emerged onto the streets of New York once again from Haven. She didn't go far, arriving at a hair salon about a block outside of the Hunters' territory. She sat down in the rolling chair and gave them her instructions, having her hair cut significantly shorter and dyed a dark brown, almost black. She paid the stylist, with a gratuitous tip, then left the salon, heading back for Haven.
