Musica looked on at the battle, or really confrontation, between Nikolaus and Ares. When he wasn't knocked back by Ares attack, Musica actually felt a slight bit of pride for the Norse armor that made that possible. He could sense the direct presence of Odin and Thor, giving Nikolaus's side a distinct advantage. The energy of the Norse Gods was also powering him, and they even began to take notice of him. Odin had forgotten this part of his grandson, but when he saw he was defending the Olympian side he turned away from him. It disgusted him his own kin would do such a thing, but if only he knew how vile it was to Musica as well.
He didn't turn to look at Ari, but you could tell he was listening. "I know you want your vengeance, just as bad as he, but I don't think typical violence is going to end this fight. Not by a long shot."

He laughed, swinging his blade around in a showy, but overall useless, maneuver. "It should be," he said. "It's my symbol." Then again... so was a bloody spear.
Which meant that maybe he should be using his spear, and not this blade. Spears were much easier for him to use, after all. It would benefit him to do that... but first.
"Your armor..." he began. "It's not as perfect as you think it is." Ares thought for a moment. "Ever heard the old story about the impenetrable shield and the undefeatable lance?"

Nikolaus kept his eyes sharp. If this was the God's attempt at distraction he would not be swayed. "I have not War God, let me guess you wish to enlighten me?" He really didn't care to listen, then again he didn't care to fight. His concern right now was to break the barrier and get his army into the school, then he'd fight the God. This wasn't following his schedule.

{{Thanks Rrine! biggrin }}
Ever rolled her eyes and then looked at Aphrodite. "Even death didn't cure her of her obsession with Musica. At least, I'm assuming that's the person with the head wound that she was talking about. Did you do something weird with her when she first saw Musica? Because if you did Aphrodite, it's not funny anymore. You're just making her look like a crazed stalker."

Ari watched silently as Nikolaus and Ares fought. "Indeed," she said in a curious tone, still watching. The air was vibrating with energy, and she felt other Gods. "... Asgard is here?" she asked Musica curiously.

{{Why isn't Nikolaus trying to get at Ares? He would work just as well as Aphrodite to get to Olympus. I mean, you said that he wanted revenge against Aphrodite, but there is an Olympian offering himself to Nikolaus right now. No need to break the barrier. Just wondering! biggrin }}

"Shut up," Aphrodite snapped, straining against the barrier. "No, I didn't do anything to her. She's in more pain and turmoil over those two demi gods than you know. Gods, she just died... and I wouldn't be talking. You flit from one guy to the next like they're tissues! You use 'em once, and toss them. You disregard feelings and use them to suit your needs. As high and mighty and unlike the Gods as you pretend to be, Evermore, you're no better than the rest of us!" She grunted as she felt the barrier give a bit. "Gah! I don't have time for this! Go do something useful!"

"It's an old Chinese one, I think," Ares said, scratching his chin briefly in thought. In truth, he was wondering if there was any truth to that old tale. If there was... there just might be some undefeatable lance lying around somewhere. Not as great as a spear, but hey. That'd be something, at least.
"This guy made a perfect shield and a perfect lance. Nothing in the world could penetrate the shield, and the lance could penetrate anything in the world." He circled around experimentally, watching Nikolaus carefully. "He presented the items to the emporer, hoping for great glory.
"But the emporer was very smart. He asked the man, 'But if the shield cannot be penetrated, how can the lance penetrate anything?' and the man was struck dumb for a moment. The man stared at his creations, wondering this as well.
"'...I do not know,' he told the emporer. The emporer had the man hold the shield while a guard took the lance. The guard threw the lance at the shield, and when it hit... Both the shield and the lance had broken."
Ares smirked at the demigod. He had no reason behind the story... not really. Just thinking time. That was all.

((He doesn't have a personal problem with him like Aphrodite. He's a one track mind kinda guy.))
Musica inclined his head. "Part of Asgard is here. At least Odin and Thor are. More than likely they'll want to join in fighting as well. They love the thrill of battle as well." He responded calmly.

Nikolaus smiled, seeing the story had no relevance to the current situation. "That's all fine and well, but there is no perfect weapon along with my gift. Even Thor's mighty hammer can't put a dent in me." There was a small bit of lightening up in the sky, and it was the equivalent of him punching him in the arm slightly. "No offense or anything." He said as he briefly looked up at the sky. It was a good way to let Ares know he wasn't the only God here ready to fight, Thor was plenty well ready to get his hands on the Grecian.

{{Oh dear. That's going to get him in trooooouble. In all the Disney movies, the villain that focuses more on revenge than the bigger picture is always defeated. Disney logic! XD lol!}}
Ever sighed and rolled her eyes again. "I would much rather have casual relationships than fancy myself in love with a man after only a few days. You act like she's in the battle for the greatest love of her life. SHE'S 16!! Does no one else see this? I bet Headmistress Krause would agree with me here. She's only known Musica for a few days and she's practically stalking him. She's put herself in her own turmoil, so no. I'm not going to feel bad for her. Frankly, I think it's pretty crappy that she goes and dies for a man that she barely even knows and then gets a free pass back to the living when it could have been used on someone who had truly sacrificed themselves for the greater good! Now, I'm glad she's back because she's young and deserves a second chance, but I also think that there have been people in the world who would have deserved it more! I don't care how that makes me sound!"
She turned around quickly and stormed outside. Apparently the battle was out there, so she'd go outside and see what she could...
She gasped when she saw a face behind an invisible barrier that she wasn't sure she'd see again for a very long time.
When she was close enough, she called out. "Ares?! What are you doing here?!"

((Or will it? He's not oblivious to the current problem at hand, and he's not about to let himself be distracted by anything. I was actually considering bringing either Thor or Odin down to fight Ares instead so Nikolaus can work on the barrier.))

True to her word, Aphrodite didn't respond. She really didn't have time to fight with the hypocritical child. Instead, she focused her anger, frustration, and other emotions into fuel to help her hold up the barrier.

"Great," Ari muttered, "So we're royally screwed, then? Hmm..." Ari murmured, a wicked look crossing her features. "Hey, Musica? Remember when we went into the lake and got tossed out? Well, they fairies and stuff are up there, and no one's guarding the lake. There's got to be something good down there if they went through the trouble of making the lake kick us out. We ought to check it out now... there could be something that might help us."

{{People keep bringing this up, but how is Ever hypocritical? She has never once said that she's in love with Ares, and no, she would not give her life right now to save his. It's not selfishness. It's just smart. She hasn't known Ares nearly long enough to have that kind of selfless love for him. I don't think she's hypocritical. Judgmental, yes, but most Furies are in mythology. lol.}}
