Rhaegar14 The woman swore loudly, looking out the window and searching for any signs of the sniper. She quickly examined the bullet lodged in the man's skull, and breathed a sigh of relief after noticing that it was not a UV round. That meant that the sniper, who was probably about to fire at her next, might not have them. She tried to find the smell of gunpowder, but it was no good. The scent of the man's blood filled the room, distracting her nose. She was fighting desperately to avoid a bloodrage. Figuring she had no other options, she waited for the man to take a second shot, looking intently out the window for a muzzle flash.
She knew she was in bad shape; she'd had the job at Las Noches for some time, but if the man who had just killed the contact escaped, she'd be exposed, and her most valuable contributions to her superiors would be eliminated. She had to somehow find and kill him. Jack watched her as she reacted to the shot, good, she haddn't spotted him. He looked closer, she was very pale 'Vampire' He thought. He was loathed to take out one of his own kind, but Posidon was more important than one Vampire's life. He quickly loaded a fresh mag of UV rounds. He watched her as she composed herself and then began searching the apartment. He swore to himself when she checked the man's computer and transfered something to a pen drive. He was sure she didn't have detailed information, but what exactly did she just learn? He readied the shot but she disappeared out of view before he could fire. 'Bugger!' He said quietly. He retrained his sights on the exit but she never appeared, 'She must've gone out another way, a window probably, damn it! He said to himself, cursing his curiosity. He got up and grabbed his rifle, running across the rooftops trying to outflank his new target.

Amber noticed movement among the rooftops, and figured it was her pursuer. She couldn't go back to Haven with him on her tail. Odds were not in her favor in a direct fight, though. The man clearly had experience handling firearms, or he probably wouldn't have hit the man quite as dead on as he did. And if he was a vampire, he would almost certainly be older than her, taking away any physical advantage she would have. In addition, Amber could usually only carry weapons she could hide in her purse and lingerie; he was doubtlessly better armed. No, she had to lose him somehow. She ducked in a low doorway with a neon sign over it; some scummy bar or another. She did not, however, step inside; she didn't want to risk a commotion with a bunch of drunken thugs. She made herself as small as she could in the dimly lit corner.

She suddenly changed direction, 's**t, she must've seen me' He said to himself, he was going to have to improve his training regieme when he returned to the coven, he was letting things slide it would appear. He went prone, hugging the rooftop, quickly he focussed his scope on the street. Quickly he began scanning the ground for the woman, was that her in the doorway of some sleeze joint? He flicked his sight to thermal imaging, nothing, she didn't show up on the heat sensor. 'Definately a vampire.' He thought as he flicked the scope back to normal. Although the street was dark he didn't need night vision just yet, there was enough ambient light for his enhanced eyes to see clearly. He quickly attached a silencer to the tip of the rifle before retraining on the doorway, he didn't want the whole neighbourhood searching for him when he fired.

Amber got lucky. For just an instant the dim moonlight reflected off the sight. She grasped the handle of the doorway and threw it open, diving inside. She high-tailed it for the emergency exit, emerging into a well-lit street infected with traffic. She ran down the street, pushing people out of the way as she went. She was still wearing her heels, making the speed she was running at a feat even for a vampire. She didn't want to, no, she couldn't resort to the boost a bloodrage would give her with this many people around. So she just kept running, but she strategically placed the people she pushed. She moved them in such a way that they ended up directly behind her, obscuring her pursuer's sight even more. She couldn't give him a clear shot... judging by his heated pursuit, he clearly had rounds to deal with her.

He fired, but it was too late, she had seen him and fled into the bar, the round smacked into the wall where her head had just been. He leapt across the street, landing on the opposite roof. He scanned the street, he could see her running through the crown. She was good, she made sure there were civilians between her and his rifle. He couldn't take the shot without causing a major problem. He phoned Kensington once again, 'Sir, there's a problem, the contact was trailed by a woman, she got hols of some information, I'm following her now, but neutralising her is going to be a problem, too many Humans around.'This is why I requested the Jager squad, I knew something like this would happen before too long. I'm on my way Jack, keep observing but do not engage, and DON'T let her go to ground, I want to interrogate her myself!' Came the reply. 'Understood sir.' Jack said before hanging up.

The girl turned a corner, and quickly went through a door into an antique shop. She browsed the goods as though she were actually interested in buying. She noticed the clerk was a boy in his teen years, fairly slim. He had long, copper hair, which gave her an idea. She walked up to the cash register, tugging open her trenchcoat the slightest bit. She was all batting eyes, sultry voice and seductive motion, with a peek or two down her coat. The boy was buttered, willing to do almost anything for her, after maybe thirty seconds of hard work. She instructed him to put on her coat and run down the street as fast as he could, telling him with that voice of hers that she'd "make it worth his while." The eager young man donned the coat, with a look of shock at her lack of clothing under it, and ran out of the store. The boy looked enough like her with the bulk of her hair hidden under her jacket that Jack might go for her. In the meantime, she slipped into the Ladies' room to wait awhile. She didn't expect the boy to come back.

Jack smiled as a figure stepped out of the shop and ran up the street, it did look like her he had to admit, but the new target ran like a man. He chuckled, she really was good. He steadied himself getting into a good fire position and waited, he made sure he was well camoflaged so she wouldn't suspect anything should she look for him. Hopefully she would think he had taked the bait and gone after the bloke in her clothes.

Amber hadn't heard the expected gunshot. That meant that either the boy had gotten away, or her plan hadn't worked... most likely the latter. This left her in a very bad position. She really only had one shot, and it was a slim one at that. She took off a shoe, and screwed open the heel, revealling the hiding place of one of her most deadly weapons; a UV grenade. Screwing the heel back on her shoe, she opened the door, pressed the button, then threw it outside before ducking for cover behind a large painting. Five seconds after the button was pressed there was a bright flash of ultraviolet light. While it was not nearly close enough to do Jack any serious harm, it might have been enough to cause him a minor amount of pain or even slight irriation... enough to disturb his aim. She raced out the door the second after the grenade went off, again placing a civilian between herself and the sniper as soon as possible. In this manner she continued running from the man.

Elyan's response was but a mere nod of the head. His body was thrashed, so his slowly began to follow behind the vampire with one step at a time. It would not be hard to guess at what their first objective would be, he knew very well it was to feed. It was true, he was still scared that he would murder, again. Yet, it was the only path available to him, now. If it happened, it happened.
"Where will you be taking us?" Elyan asked. Of course, it wasn't as if he really knew many of the locations in this jungle-like city, so it probably wouldn't matter whether or not he knew. But, curiosity got the better of him. Plus, he didn't want to come off as being dull and boring. He would already be of some trouble for her, so he would try to balance the annoyance with personality and friendliness. Elyan was a quick learner, he always had been. So, he wouldn't be dragging the fellow vampire down with his troubles for too long.

To the humans it would appear as though a camrea flash had gone off, but to Jack it was something far worse; the flash almost blinded him, the pain in his eye was excrutiating, the rest of him was saved by his clothing and cover. He fired off a shot through blurred vision, the civilian behind his target fell to the ground dead. <********> Jack said realising his error. The street erupted in screams as the humans around the dead body realised what happened. Jack knew he had to get out the area, and with his target now evading him he was really pissed. Kensington would not be pleased with this.

Corinne smiled somewhat unnervingly when she heard the gunshot, fangs gleaming due to the moonlight. "How about we collect ourselves a panicked human around where that gunshot was? Sounds fairly convenient. We can station ourselves at a car and simply wait for someone to return to it. We'll have to move quickly, though, the panic will eventually leave them. Blood tastes better when they're frightened." Her last comment likely left a sadistic impression upon Elyan, something darker than she'd left before but it was simply her preparing him for the hunt. Feeding on mortals was, for her, now just a playful puzzle that she had to work out carefully in order to not get caught.
Her stiletto heels clacked against the open streets but soon enough the sound seemed to almost fade. She'd picked up an amazing amount of speed and was expecting Elyan could easily follow suit. As they were coming toward the scene Corinne observed as a vampiric girl, no less, passed by them in an unnecessary hurry. Had she been the one to take the shot? Soon enough she arrived more or less near the scene and her gray eyes scrutinized the messy scene, making out that this person definitely had been hit by the shot she'd heard. Her gray eyes filled with skepticism when she realized the killer obviously wasn't within the direct vicinity of the crime. ~Someone's been naughty tonight.~
This scene seemed rather odd and seeing as there was a free body there to dispose of they'd might as well take advantage of such a thing before the cops showed up. "Looks like you get to scavenge tonight, Elyan. You'd probably be best to wait until you're a good ways away before you start feeding upon this unfortunate soul, though. I'm tempted to look around and see if we can locate whomever fired such a shot."
The woman, with her graceful but dangerous gait made her way over toward the body, pulling the bullet out with one merciless tug, blood now soaking into her black glove. "Hm ... I suppose I'll investigate the round later for now I just want to have a peek around. That one's definitely dead so don't feel bad being greedy, Elyan. I suggest you clear this scene before someone sees you carting the body away, though." With that she began inspecting the immediate rooftops in the area along with the buildings lining the street. There were a huge number of places this killer could have been though that girl fleeing past them as they approached this mess also came to mind.

Soon enough she arrived more or less near the scene and her gray eyes scrutinized the one who was standing nearest the dead body. Her gray eyes filled with skepticism when she recognized the man partaking in the motions of concealing a weapon. ~Guilty.~
For a moment she would side-track them in order to discover what happened. I've got a few questions to ask."
The woman, with her graceful but dangerous gait made her way over toward the vampire who she could only assume had shot the human. There was a wry smile upon her face and she couldn't resist asking him what he'd been thinking. "Who takes an open shot at a human in a street littered with witnesses I wonder? Surely that's not a weapon you were just concealing, sir?" She smiled, revealing her fangs and letting him know that she wasn't a cop, furthermore, her prominenet Finnish accent alerted him to the fact she was not from around here.

Goblin Aiden doubted her, Cosette could sense that much in his dead blue eyes. He was justified in his concerns. Of course, Cosette had in no way expected him to drop his grunges and happily skipped away at her side like the best of friends, But wasn't Cosette known for her rather bi-polar mood swings? Wasn't it almost expected that she change her mind at the drop of a hat? It wasn't that out of the originally, that's for sure. Hopefully that fact alone might give her a little bit of leeway in her task at hand. She only had to play Aiden so far, simply bide her time and charm her way for that perfect moment. Lay in wait for just one second when Aiden's attention might waver, a moment when the void was directed elsewhere. Even the most cold of creatures had something that could make their heart pound, something that brought them to life if only for a few brief moments. For example, If anyone honestly wanted Cosette so completely distracted, you didn't need to point out a stain or make a loud noise; all one simply needed to do was prop a violin in front of her. The next instant, She'd be gone. She would wrap those greedy little fingers around it's delicate neck so swiftly in hopes to hear it sing, praying for the melody to take her away. It was a little known fact that Cosette was a musician, a near prodigy-like talent that had landed her in this entire immortal mess. The lovely violin had been her downfall and even now, over a hundred years later, she still couldn't resist strumming it's strings.
“Well, sure. Really, what is there to put behind us? We've caused no harm to one another. All we've simply done is batted back and forth like two meddling siblings.” She muttered, speaking in a simple matter-of-fact tone. She gave a little shrug of her slender shoulders, playing it off so very well that it meant little consequence to her. Cosette thrived to aline herself with the powerful, it wouldn't look odd to others that she did that very thing now. Convincing others of her forged intentions might even in turn form Aiden's mind around her lies. “Besides, It would be fun to clean up this rancid city and make myself the Princess I ought to be. “ She continued, even though she had no intention of such a thing, the thought pressed a smile into her lips. While it would be awfully nice to hear everyone calling her 'Princess', she had other more pressing matters at hand. Like destroying pretty boy in front of her. “I can put it all behind, Can you Aiden?” The question was a challenge, left for the words to linger in the air as Cosette offered a smile of nothing but charm. While Cosette could prove to be rather mood-swing, she did not simply change her mind for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Her grudges ran deep as did her intentions to harm and he knew she had extremely violent tendencies that were possibly as sadistic as his own. Unfortunately for Cosette, they both knew which of the two vampires were stronger. Not only did Aiden trump her in age but the void was certainly a deadly tool if one could operate it functionally. Aiden had years upon years of practice controlling the void and he could easily overcome her with it. The only thing he would really have to worry about in regards to Cosette was if she managed to get a hold of a weapon that could surely doom him. A gun, for instance, with UV bullets could easily turn her into his most dangerous threat. Something told him, though, that she’d never handled a fire gun in all of her petty years of life and that even if she managed to get a hold of one she likely wouldn’t know how to use it. Poor thing.
Cosette was wanting to mess with him for some reason, that much was clear. She was the type to keep her enemies closer than her friends but exactly what her plans for him were remained shrouded in mystery. That only made things more interesting and it would be an entertaining little puzzle to figure out. If she proved dangerous he could always bring the void into play and easily escape from her provided she didn’t catch him in a completely well lit room. She was a pre-planner though so he would have to watch out though this would mean keeping his guard up in the long run since she certainly wouldn’t attempt anything directly off the bat. She was going to try to reel him in as much as she could, make him comfortable, drop his guard.
Aiden shrugged nonchalantly, his cold blue eyes staring at Cosette as he did so. “I don’t know. I suppose I felt you took some of my jesting more serious than was intended.” Of course this was a flat out lie since his aim was not to joke around with her, it’d always been to anger her and upset her. Surely even Cosette realized this and he wondered what’d gotten into her that was making her willing to put such grudges behind her. Perhaps some form of revenge? Maybe she actually believed he was lonely and wanted him to think that she’d make a good companion when surely she wanted nothing to do with him and was disgusted by the very presence of him. Perhaps she was a better little actress than he’d taken her for but that was only part of the game she was playing. There was something more, his instinct told him so and he was going to find out what it was. Hopefully not before it was too late.
“A princess adored by scoundrels? Why ever would you care for that?” Aiden honestly had absolutely no interest in overtaking the city that was crumbling apart before their very eyes anyhow. What would he do with an absolute wasteland littered with grubby cops and dishonest crooks anyhow? Did he really want to rule over a city and keep order by having to deal with people’s petty issues? No if he overtook New York he would simply slaughter everyone, bathe in blood. It was much simpler, killing to negociating; he would take killing any time of the day over trying to compromise and work things out. And then came Cosette’s words of finalization, like a contract almost, a verbal one. He could hear the challenge behind her words and happily admitted himself into her game. “But of course I am. Allies we are.”
