Goblin As soon as she was free of that disgusting ally, her pace quickened. Her steps were a rythmatic hop, her blue glitter flats a gentle tap against the sidewalk. Cosette's posture was tense and those small white hands were fisted at her sides with nails tearing into the flesh of her palms. Anything to keep her from lashing out and losing that wonderful control she was oh-so proud of; but god was it difficult with Aiden on her heels, pestering her and spilling out a thread of endless questions. She made a show of ignoring him, a futile attempt to drive him away. He was practically stalking her. Maybe he was envious of her hair. That was the only explanation she could come up with to sooth her tempter. Yes, that's what it had to be. Aiden was jealous. Maybe it was her charming personality or enchanting good looks or maybe even her psychic abilities, even if they were broken. After all, Void masters weren't all that great. The void often corrupted and drove the possessed insane. Like the last voidmaster she'd known, What a piece of work he'd been. A mad scientist, but absolutely delicious. He'd been easy to manipulate too, very much unlike that angel faced one tailing her.
“We are not off to toy with anyone. I was going to toy with Whiteout back there, But then you messed it all up.” Cosette snapped, with a sneer that flashed those pearly white fangs. In a sudden outburst, She'd spun around so fast that Aiden would run right into her if he wasn't paying enough attention. “Couldn't just keep your mouth shut, could you? Play a good boy and let me be. Cant' you find someone else to stalk? Or are you just that lonely? Poor vampire, so absolutely pathetic that no one wants to be your company, Or better yet, I'm sure no one can stand your presence. so, Go away. I don't want it either.” With that said, She turned back around and literally stomped down the sidewalk like an irritated toddler in the mists of a temper tantrum. Aiden effortlessly tailed the petite blonde and by doing so he was also effortlessly pestering her seeing as he was hardly doing a thing at all. Now had he decided to take up Cosette's take on what she would respond it would involve something along the lines of her simply going the same way as he had been and lying his pretty little head off, insisting he was innocent. Cosette was rather silly that way, always insisting she was in the right and that she was flawless in every sense of the word. Of course, that was the appeal of Cosette's character and why it was so fun to tail her and bother her while doing so. It was easy but she wasn't a stupid blonde bimbo, she could formulate an intelligent response and argument to something every once in a while. She was cunning in the sense that she was manipulative to the core of her being but beyond that there wasn't all that much. Everything else was just an act framed around it which was why she was so easy to read.
"My sincerest of apologies my lady. Would there be anything I could do in order to make it up to you?" Aiden took an absolutely flawless bow in front of her and offered her his hand, of course, it was a mock show and he knew well enough she would never stoop so low as to touch the hand of a dirty hunter vampire. She was angry at him and she certainly wasn't about to indulge him with petty hand holding but it was fun all the same to see what her response to such a gesture would be. Cosette didn't have a sense of humour about things such as this so he severely doubted she would entertain him much by just giving in and letting him have a little fun. Either way, though, worked for Aiden since he enjoyed seeing her strut about and throw temper tantrums all the same. Normal men probably would have found the scene from her absolutely adorable until they realized how nasty she really could be. Aiden simply enjoyed tormenting her and playing games with her since she so easily fell for the bait he planted.
"We must be two of a kind in that case. No one likes dealing with a petty brat who believes she's better than everyone including the person she's spending time with. Not to mention once people catch a whiff of your personality it is like a too strongly scented perfume that often leaves them with a head ache. It must be a lonely existence, being the only perfect one out there. All those fools and scoundrels, how dare they speak to you or address you in such obsene ways. You were so nice when you wanted me to help you back home, what changed? Why the cold heart and shoulder, Cosette?" He smirked as he followed her along, ever relentless in his badgering of her. Of course, her ignoring him was next to nigh impossible since he wouldn't have her ignoring him stop him from doing so. She would have to do better than straight out ignoring him to get rid of him and it was pretty difficult to escape from a void master, whether she thought them useful or not.

“ You could leave.” Just as Aiden had predicted , Cosette just starred at his hand, absolutely appalled. She'd seen the images in his mind, the horrid thing he'd done with those hands. It would be impossible to cleanse those hands, no matter the amount of cleaner one might douse themselves in. Aiden was stained. Wither or not it was there at first glance or not, even if it was the barest traces; Cosette was positive his fingers reeked of blood. When she took such meticulous care to display cleanliness in both her appearance and deadly string of murders, She wasn't about to blemish her almost perfect record. She did however, smack his hand away with a little growl, the movement was so switch it could be seen as nothing more than a blur. Insulted that he would have even presented the offer when he knew well and good she would never have touched him. This was all getting her awfully worked up, her temper fuming and filling her lithe figure with a need for violence. Something, anything that she could squeeze her greedy little fingers around to release the building pressure. It was effecting the filters of her mind, the distraction allowing way too many thoughts into her mind at all once. Her fingers twitched her sides, itching with a need to tug at her curly golden stands in a compulsive nervous habit.
“No, We are different. If I were such an unbearable creature, You wouldn't be stalking me now. You'd have found someone else to pester. Obviously, I am better than everyone else since you are standing here now. ” She said, her voice dropping in volume, perhaps because she was hoping to conceal the dangerous tremble of her words. She starred up at him, fierce and determined to get her point across with those brilliant blue eyes barring into Aiden. “ I may be only the broken shell of a creature I could have been, but I know damned well how to manipulate and mold things to get them just my way. That's what sets me apart and makes me just that grand. No one else in this horrible city to match me, not when I can simply charm my way into any creature's favor. You however, are just cold. It's how you survive, that's all you are. A cold and empty little shell, just trying to grasp a spark of life giving amusement out of tormenting me. Go play your games somewhere else, Aiden. I want nothing to do with it.” When Cosette was finally finished, probably the longest sentence to come out of the blond's mouth in one go; She just starred at his angel face. If Aiden was so bold to stare back, He'd be caught. Trapped in those blue eyes, pools of completion. Go away. She thought it, thought it so fiercely she hopped to imprint it on the walls of his mind. A need to do nothing but obey the spectacular blond before him.

"Why yes I very well could but that wouldn't prove to be any fun for me now would it?" His fanged grin was sinister and filled with amusement as she became disgusted by his offer. She was repulsed by his vile hand and knew that it'd been soaked in blood. However, those were in his years long ago as a human general and it'd been something he'd been required to do in order to live. He probably could have made a living another way but killing a man and leading a group of them to slaughter paid a lot better than most jobs. His mother hadn't been happy that her baby boy was barely home but at least he'd managed to keep her fed and well looked after while he was away. His mother had been the only being he'd come relatively close to caring for, it was probably safe to say he did care about her. After all, he had protected her and taken care of her and had he listened to her and stayed with her instead of leaving so soon again when he was given some off time he wouldn't be what he was now.
Of course, Aiden didn't much dwell over the past since it was useless to do so now. He'd come too far to look back and regret things and what he'd done. He was a monster alright but to the general populace he was an angel walking amongst the grime and grub of the human race. That suited his purposes just fine because it allowed him to feed in whichever manner he chose fit. Yes he was a hunter but blood packets were absolutely degrading and the hunters were a busy enough organization that they weren't about to stalk him around to assure that he wasn't getting his fix. He was a clean hunter as well and knew how not to be caught so things were always rather convenient for him. It was easier to avoid the system if you were apart of it and knew how it functioned from the inside out. It was like knowing an intricate map drawn on the back of a student's hand that the student studied more diligently than the holy scriptures themselves in order to cheat and ace their exam.
Of course Cosette responded just as he'd known she would. If only the girl decided to read into his thoughts as he bothered her and changed her response in order to surprise him every once in a while. Now, if she learned and remembered how to read when she was angry that would be a step toward making progress. With full psychic tendencies she would be a creature of absolute stunning beauty simply from the full-fledged abilities she possessed. It would be something spectacular to behold, of that he was certain. He smiled dangerously when she dared to bat his gloved hand away with her own. Anyone else would have been killed for such a deed and yet Cosette managed to escape without a single flaw. She was right the regard that she was special but she probably didn't realize why. Of course, had she known this she most certainly would have pounced upon the opportunity the first time they'd met. However, he wasn't as easy to win over as some petty mindless vampire who found her absolutely stunning. His heart was of stone, even the mightiest and prettiest hadn't been able to move it.
"But of course you're lonely, Cosette, why else would you be seeking out a companion to keep you safe? Being perfect, I'm certain, isolates one and makes one lonely. Surely for the safety portion of things but I'm certain you also miss having someone there to manipulate and compliment you and tell you how wonderful you are even if you both know what your true nature is. And yes, I could have found someone to pester but you are just too irresistable to pass up. You are also prettier than anyone else in that alleyway and cleaner so naturally I'd choose you." He smiled as he both complimented her and degraded her all in one sentence. She was smart enough to probably pick up on both but Cosette would surely pick out the negative before the positive. Her ego could be fed but she knew his game and would likely not take anything he said overly seriously.
"How very perceptive of you, Cosette. Yes, the void has hallowed me out to be a shell and a servant of its own accord but the madness is soothing. It gives me something to grasp onto, gives me somewhere to go and yet it is nothing and such a place does not exist. Living within shadows, seeing through them, they're everywhere and it's glorious. Of course, you'd never understand. You have to be taken by the void before you can truly understand. You, however, are equally as cold. Using others for your benefit then tossing them aside when they've served their purpose or once they've upset you. My dear, there are only so many you can go through before they'll catch onto your little game. You best be cautious. And if I were attempting to grasp a spark of life, my dear, it certainly wouldn't be from you. An eternity of being your slave and pet doesn't seem much fun to me." He smiled, not at all bothered by the fact that he'd been called cold and virtually useless. If she thought she was great enough to give him a spark of life then she was mistaken greatly. No one could.
Aiden stared and for a moment he even allowed her to think he had been caught, enraptured by those beautiful blue eyes. However, the hope he gave her was brief and then his ice-cold lifeless blue eyes only showed her the essence of his being. There was nothing, the void was visible through his eyes, his other world there before her and yet not. "My my, what beautiful eyes you have. Perhaps you are the most intricate work of Lucifer or perhaps some other higher being I do not believe in. No doubt you are stunning, 'tis a shame for you that even the prettiest do not stir me. No one can give me my spark, dear, not even you." His cold eyes snapped with conviction and a twisted smile grew upon his face. More likely than not his words would bother her but would she take them as a challenge or as an insult? Either way would be fun.

|| Anyone wanting to RP, please feel free to bump into me. ||
Corinne passed beneath a street lamp in a blur though it illuminated her bright blue eyes that were slowly fading back to their regular gray colour along with her fangs. The fangs were still showing and yet there was absolutely no visible reason for why she would be doing such which would lead most onlookers to contemplate as opposed to ask unless they were bold. The vampire had just fed but aside from her fangs showing and her hasty pace which had now slowed to a regular human strolling pace, there was no evidence of which she had just executed a most successful and stealthy kill. However, with over two hundred years of practice, one leaned toward tendencies which were more habitual and ritualistic than anything from years of trial and error. There was no question she had now perfected the art of murder, something she perhaps would have been horrified at as a human.
The past, though, was not something she wished to dwell upon for it was by no means a pleasant one for her. Memories were things better left unpondered and unquestioned because life didn’t stop simply because you’d suffered some horrible injustice. No one, nothing stopped for you when you were down unless they had a reason to do so. The world was a cold place when she’d existed within it as someone ignorant and it was only managing to grow colder. It was more materialistic, more corporate, more manipulative. Values seemed to waste away and decay as the bodies of those she’d once loved had and were now nothing more than a part of the earth itself. There were a few who still possessed them but she had yet to meet very many.
This city, though, would be a good place for a fresh start. It was on the other side of the world and the ocean would help to separate her from her memories and her homeland. Ideals were certainly different here but she hadn’t really come here because of the people or anything other than the fact it was away from the place she’d once lived. Finland had been awfully nice and she now possessed an accent to prove she’d been there for years but it’d been too close to home for her. Here, this was as far away as she was going to get and hopefully it would prove a good escape. She’d heard of the happenings in New York and was eager to mingle amongst everyone else for a distraction. This was also an experience she was looking forward to. Starting over completely and leaving the brutal past behind once and for all, anyone would be excited at such a prospect.
To onlookers, the vampiress probably wouldn’t appear overly special unless they caught a decent glimpse of her. Her over all structure was as lithe as any gymnast’s would be and her eyes were absolutely beguiling. When people looked her in the eyes they often found themselves lost in the complexity that made them. While they were simple in their colouring, the eyes truly were a window to the soul and her eyes were extremely vibrant in that sense. To anyone who didn’t know her she could easily pass as a mortal though she was a tad on the pale side. However, the pale complexion had always been with her so by no means did it appear unnatural, in fact, the paleness suited her quite well.
The woman wore beise trousers accompanied by an intricately embroidered green vest along with a simple but flattering white cotton shirt whose sleeves only came down to her elbows. The outfit was simple enough and yet it was extremely classy and casual all at once. She appeared a little older in her taste, looking like a business executive with a taste for the privateers clothing choice but the outfit complimented her form rather well. As the woman walked she reached into the pocket of her trousers and pulled out a silver, engraved lighter along with her pack of cigarettes and meticulously picked one out of the packet and then carefully placed it back within her pocket. She managed to light the cigarette her first try and her lighter, too, was stowed away with care. She had decided that while she was walking around she might as well smoke since it just had that effect of making things more enjoyable though it was now more a habit than anything.
As she took even, calculated drags from her cigarette the pristine woman’s eyes began wandering, wondering where all the people in this part of the city had gone to. Perhaps they were pub crawling and simply having a good time or perhaps this was a particular danger area she wanted to avoid. Either way, she wasn’t going to find out simply by standing here, she would have to walk around become familiar with the city by experiencing things and speaking to people. She would have to first find someone to speak with in regards to the city, though. People probably weren’t her favourite thing but it could prove a pretty lonely life if you never bothered speaking to anyone. She was cynical but by no means was she bitter.

Raven walked down the dimly lit streets of New York with a heavy gait. She hadnt been here but a week, and she already missed the livelyhood of London. But she knew deep in her heart that London wasn't a safe place. At least not for Raven. That didn't make it any easier to leave.
The streetlights seemed to create a halo around her, enhancing her natural beauty. Her dark hair was piled on top of her head. Her dark dress swished around her legs as she walked. Her boots created an ominous clicking as she walked.
She was getting interested looks from parties of men on the street. She was used to this. Her life in London in the 1600's had men looking at her all the time. She had learned to get used to it. Her life was different now, so she didnt have to worry about it.
A dark melody played in her head. She missed London, so she was in a dark mood. If she would take the time to compose the music in her head, she would be a big hit. But she hadn't composed music since the day she was turned; since she found out what she was.

Spes Unus Elyan just stared at the strange man as he walked off. Honestly, his personality was a stark contrast to his own. But, as he was cheerful enough. But, Elyan felt like crap and his body constantly reminded him of that fact. He knew the only way to quickly alleviate his condition was to consume blood. Of course, that could set off any hunter and that's the last thing he wanted to happen. Did he have a choice? It was either that, or wait days for his body to repair itself. Time was precious to him, especially given the fact that he still didn't have anymore leads on his enemies' whereabouts.
The street before him had remained ever-so quiet, even though the talking Travis and Elyan had performed. Though a tad odd, an ice cream truck drove by. The driver gave a quick glace at Elyan before scooting by.
"I guess adults are too old for ice cream, eh?" Such a waste of breath on an unneeded comment. But, the humor did cheer him up, even if it wasn't all that funny. He needed to move around some and probably find some water. His face was still covered with dried blood, something nothing short of frightening. It just seemed to be a side-effect of having a bullet enter your forehead, nothing more. He got back up on his feet, patting off the thin layer of dust and dirt which had covered his bottom. He decided to continue moving towards the quiet part of the city. It would give him time to think and maybe, give him some time to rest.
[[Yeah. Doesn't mean I don't want any interaction. Just, a change of scenery.]] Corinne managed to arrive just in time to hear the man's comment meant for himself and smiled at his humour despite herself. Sure she was troubled but that didn't mean she couldn't laugh at a stranger's joke to himself which she happened to intrude upon. It was pretty plain to see that this man was a vampire and furthermore he had either been in a nasty fight or he had the most attrocious table manners she'd ever seen. Either way the poor man needed to clean himself up before someone saw him in that condition and decided he was the local neighbourhood psychopath or that he was easy prey to pick off. She thought to tell him so but at the same time if he wasn't smart enough to figure that out for himself perhaps he was just better off to be hunted down.
Though the cynical side of her had managed to kick in without fail, Corinne decided that she would warn the man that walking around as he was probably was not a smart idea. "Excuse me sir," she addressed him in her Finnish accent, "this may seem a question that's a tad odd but do you realize that there is blood on your face and clothing? I'm of vampiric heritage as well but don't you think a certain amount of subtely is required especially when humans are out for our blood as well as the other races'?"
Her expression was one of confusion and her eyebrow was raised at him as she continued to examine him. Clearly the gentleman was either completely out of it, he really didn't care or this had just recently happened. However, judging by the dried blood it'd probably happened a while ago and he simply had yet to take care of it. Corinne sighed and decided that she would help out her fellow vampire by doing him a favour. "Here," she said as she shrugged off her deep purple trenchcoat that matched her vest, "you should cover up until you can find yourself something else to change into."
Why was she being so kind? Already she was probably giving the impression that she was too nice and a push over! Ugh! But she didn't want to leave a bad impression on every single person in New York before she'd even settled into the place! Perhaps this just wasn't her thing and she would best be off before the man could really say anything about the issue. On the other hand, perhaps he possessed some knowledge for her and could brief her on the pros and cons of the city and a little more. The woman, however, sat there and debated as opposed to making a decision right away which would give the other vampire plenty of time to react to her gesture and respond to it.

Just wandered down the street, looking around at the buildings he knew so well, and yet were completely mysterious as well. "Hmm..." People on the street backed up from him, he really did smell bad right now. The guy just sighed and kept on, heading in the direction of his old haunt, a poor neighborhood people called "Tierra de hueco" or, The Hollow Land. This referred to the many junkies, prostitutes, and general criminals that lined the streets here in this particular neighborhood. Travis had lived here before it was the s**t hole it had become, and was almost moved to tears seeing his once beloved neighborhood turned into a common ghetto. Travis suddenly heard a familiar, if unwelcome, voice in his ear. "You lived here? What were you, a meth head?" Travis just shook his head at El Diablo's comment, heading to the two the high rise that he used to call home. "I wonder if Maudette still lives here. " He knew his apartment would have been long rented out, building policy. He went up to the front of the building, tapping the lo0ck out of the front. Ascending the staircase that he knew so well, he sighed. "Whats wrong, boy?" Travis just looked at the man that was folowing him, "When are you going to pleave me alone, devil?" "I dunno..." Travis just climbed to the third floor, going to the apartment of an older lady he had been quite friendly with, a Ms. Maudette. H eknowcked softly and the lock turned in the door. It creaked open slightly, the chain latch catching. "Who is it... TRAVIS?!?!!?" The door slammed, then flew open, a woman, about 60, literally jumped into travis, hugging him. "I thought you were dead, boy!" Travis just blushed, smiling at his old friend, "No, Ma'am I'm still quite alive. "Technically" The devil muttered from inside his head. Travis spent the next few hours catching up with his old friend, and taking a much needed shower. Maudette was even nice enough to wash his clothes for him, letting him wear an old bathrobe of her dea dhusband's in the meantime. (Just posting something to let everyone know I'm still alive, and expanding the character some, yay. Oh, by the way, you don't know HOW MUCH I wanted to chase after the ice cream truck, lol.)

Elyan found it hard to reply to the woman's initial question without coming off sounding like an idiot or a smart-a**. It was true, having your face covered in blood was not a very subtle act and was bound to cause more trouble for him. Still, he accepted the woman's offer. He didn't want to come off as being rude, either.
"I take it you're not from around here, judging by your accent," Elyan commented as he slipped the trench coat over his own. At the very least, he could say that he was easily made cold, a good excuse. This woman was the first vampire he had truly made contact with since he first arrived in this over-populated city.
'Elyan.' He turned at the sound of a familiar voice to once again see his child-self to his side. Of course, he didn't make himself in a true physical form, not this time. 'Remember not to drop your guard. The people in this city are no different from the ones everywhere else.'
Elyan merely nodded his head, giving a subtle "Yes" in response. Of course, to his vampire acquaintance, it would seem as if he were speaking to himself, which he was, in a sense.

Corinne could see that the man was formulating a response or excuse for his actions, contemplating his words carefully. At the very least he was thinking his answer through instead of just blurting it out. Perhaps he wasn't an idiot after all. Of course, it was a little soon to be judging his character when he'd barely uttered more than a simple sentence but all the same she could gauge him a little with her abilities. It was easy enough to apply her psychic abilities and detect a general aura that people exerted. It seemed that this one was a bit conflicted but beyond surface thoughts and emotions she didn't venture any further lest he notice her slight intrusion. He was trying his best to be polite to her and she would do the same, respect earned respect, there was no other way.
The woman nervously and habitually began sliding her fingers through her hair when he mentioned that she was not from around this place. Naturally the accent was a dead give away but she honestly wished to have no reminders of her past at the moment. She'd just escaped her home to start over and here she was with a British vampire. "I've never," she responded in her full accent, "been to this side of the continent ever. Luckily I managed to stay in Britain for a good while to study my English so I'm not at a loss and resorting to pointing and charades in order to communicate. I suppose, though, when you have two hundred years to fulfill whatever it is you are seeking to, you can learn a lot. Something tells me you're not from around here either."
"I suppose the polite thing to do would be to introduce myself now, hm?" She smiled and bowed before she proceeded to introduce herself by her new identity, the one that would hopefully help her forget who she was. "I'm Holly Sanders." She smoothly extended her gloved hand to him as she continued to hold her cigarette to the side so as not to blow smoke in his face. It was clear she was a perfected predator with the ease of her movements, completely free of jerkiness. However, for one to appreciate it they would probably have to be a vampire and a perceptive one at that.
When he began nodding his head to someone else, the psychic's eyebrow raised again. Sure she had her abilities and easily could have tapped into his mind had she desired to but she had enough decency to leave people to their own thoughts. ~This could prove an interesting evening ...~
The woman remained silent and chose to act as if she hadn't just witnessed the scene with him nodding to himself. She'd already detected the confliction within him so she was already making guesses at him having a personality disorder as many vampires seemed to. Instead of saying anything at all, though, she merely decided to wait him out, hand still extended as he dozed off into his own little world. While she was at it, she decided to take a drag of her cigarette.

She was examining him, not that he blamed her. Not all vampires got along. Being of a unique race didn't make them any different than any other animal or species. They fought, they killed, they loved and they communicated. The world of vampires also carried its own customs and beliefs. Even certain phrases were unique to the race. But, it was bound to happen.
As the woman extended her hand, offering her name, Elyan did the same. "My name is Elyan Maxwell. It's true, I'm new to his city as much as you are." Both of them wore gloves. Just a strange observation which, quite frankly, came out of nowhere. In terms of age, he far-surpassed her. Still, she seemed to be far more relaxed in her own skin, something he still had trouble coping with.
They shook and released their hands, Elyan's dropping to his side idly. At times, he could feel as if someone were trying to enter his mind, dancing on the edge without going too far in. Unfortunately for him, he was tired, drained even. So, he couldn't put up much of a mental fight. Still, he wasn't going to show weakness to someone one-third his age. He needed to toughen-up.

She ignored Aiden's half-hearted and two sided compliments. He was a rare someone that she'd wanted absolutely no praise from. In fact, Cosette would have preferred to watch him choke on his words, stumble over and start convulsing on the dirty ground. Now that would have been amusing. Unlike his twisted idea of 'compliments' that managed merely to grind her nerves further. Determined to put on a show and make it painfully obvious that she would only pay attention to selective snippets that dropped from his lips, Cosette crossed her arms over her bearably-there chest. She began tapping her little foot, starring off to the side while she flicked her tongue against her oh-so perfect white teeth. It's a bit of a shame that Adien didn't fall for her alluring baby blue's. It would have been amusing to slip into his mind and persuade him to do humiliating things. Teach that boy a lesson he wouldn't soon forget.
“If I had any ounce of power, I would be perfectly fine alone. I don't want company because I'm lonely and sad, I need a companion because things were done terribly wrong in my creation and I can't survive wrong on my own.” She finally muttered. It was very much true. Hadn't her parents coincidently been slaughtered just before her 'disappearance'? She'd wanted to to be the only one with influenced on her life, resented the fact that anyone might have attempted to steer her future or place themselves in her wonderful pristine life. Cosette simply didn't harbor the ability to love, almost as if the proper genetics had been stripped from her at birth. She took what she wanted, might dote or admire along the way; and then when the purpose was solved, She'd simply dispose of the said person. Her parents a case in point. A thought accrued to her then, the very solution she'd discovered long ago that worked out nearly all her social issues. One way to get rid of Aiden would be to destroy him. Crush that perfect angelic face and tear out each lovely stand of his pale hair. She'd love to hear him scream, yearned to feel his blood flow. The very thought brought a pleased wicked grin to her lovely lips. She'd risk a mess to see his demise at her hands. Unfortunately, Aiden was much stronger than her. The void alone provided an overwhelming obstacle. She'd put her acting to a test and play him out as far as he could stretch.
“Aiden, You know what? Maybe we could be friends.” Cosette began, with a slow smile as she fixed those blue eyes back upon his lovely face. “Like you said, We are so much alike. What a wonderful pair we could make, don't you think? We could practically manage to take over this city, you and I.” She paused to reach out a white hand, so very careful not to touch flesh as she nudged a stray strand of his pale hair and hooked it properly away behind his ear. To anyone else, it might have come across as a friendly or endearing gesture but honestly, Cosette just couldn't stand anything in her presence being out of place. “What do you think Aiden, A truce?”

Unfortunately for Cosette, slipping into a mind such as the likes of Aiden's would be impossible for her with her lack of control. Before the void had claimed him, he too had been a psychic vampire and he'd possessed an evident talent. Naturally, though, the void sought out talent and soon enough it had found him and had offered him all that it could offer. He'd seen it as a step up in the food chain though the void, if displeased, could easily punish him for disobeying or misusing it. So far, though, Aiden had yet to be a disobedient dog for several hundred years and as such he had not been punished for quite a long while. While the void had absorbed most of his psychic abilities he had retained a tiny ounce of his former abilities, able to hear thoughts if he really focused and able to make his mind a mental barricade that was almost impossible to fracture.
"It would seem that you've yourself a predicament, dear Cosette. Which strong vampire are you going to seek out and use for their protection next, I wonder. And it's unfortunate to hear of such a flaw. I suppose even those who are perfect possess flaws but surely that's someone else's fault, no?" He smirked after his comment, of course, while Cosette sought to rip every strand of hair from his head, that'd been the initial thought he'd possessed when he first met her. It was funny she was still alive after attempting to abuse and mock him as much as she did. Whether she liked it or not, they actually did possess a few things in common. They were both manipulative to the cores of their being, neither possessed the capacity to love and both enjoyed playing games. There were other similarities but those three were the most predominant.
Aiden certainly hadn't expected Cosette to completely break her own codes in order to be nice to him and instantly the void master began calculating and deducting what her reasons for doing so would be. Cosette was never nice without a reason though he couldn't possibly imagine what she would want from him. Perhaps she thought him to be as gullible as the rest of those who had fallen prey to her nasty circle of lies. Not Aiden. He could play the same game and get exactly what he wanted from all of it. Cosette's stubborness had dissipated within a mere instant for a reason and now he was curious to find out why. He loved games and this was just another one to play along in. If Cosette took him for an idiot then he could certainly play one if only to subdue her. If she honestly believed he was this stupid then she really had trapped herself, of course, she could always be playing a level higher and expecting him to want to play. Only time would tell.
Of course, there was always the juicy alternative of pissing her off by making fun of her pathetic attempt to make ammends when both of them clearly weren't anything close to friends. He could even make a jab at her for hitting on him and touching something that wasn't of perfected stature. This certainly was suspicious and while he would love to see that perfect little scowl on her face, he figured playing dumb would prove more interesting. Was she seeking to make him her pet or did she want something else? Malicious intent? Most likely. He would certainly have to remain on his guard, of course, he had the advantage of little Cosette taking him for a total fool. Of course, his next words would have to be careful, cautious and smooth. He didn't want her to suspect anything and yet surely she should know he would only do so in order to play.
Aiden took in her spectacular blue eyes and smirked, this time without his fangs showing so his face remained boyish and angelic as ever. There had to be some skepticism, he couldn't instantly accept, it wasn't in his nature and yet she thought she could feed his ego so he had to have her believe that as well. "Perhaps we could. I don't know, though, are we really going to be able to put everything that's happened behind us? You're willing to forgive me for my transgressions and accept the fact that we are alike just on a whim? But yes. I'm certain we would be a wonderful match to clean this city up and run it as we see fit. It'd take an awful lot of work, though."
When Cosette reached out to touch him, all angelic qualities that managed to make him so flawless and beautiful evaporated. His pupils retracted and he almost hissed violently at her for daring to reach out and touch him with her greedy little nubs when he realized he would have to play along with this as well. Aiden detested nothing more than someone reaching out to touch him in any manner. However, he hated it most when someone's touch was meant solely for the purpose of seducing. He calmed himself and reviewed the situation and confirmed that Cosette wasn't trying to play temptress to get her way right now but he wasn't so sure she wouldn't in the future. Of course, trying to win his heart would never happen for similar to Cosette, Aiden hadn't really been born with a capacity to love. He could care for something and be protective of it but beyond that he was not nuturing or remotely kind-hearted. "A truce? I don't know, Cosette. Are you really sure we can put this all behind us?"

Examination was a typical ritual of Corinne's when she initially met someone as though an inspection of them would somehow reveal to her all of their dark moments and their true nature. The truth was, none of this could be revealed to her upon making a surface scan but she still did so anyhow since it'd now become a habit of hers that she wasn't going to drop. As for getting along, Corinne did that pretty well though it was pretty easy to get along with anyone you only bothered to talk to once or twice. That was simply the way she was. She didn't believe in keeping either friends or enemies close, isolation, being solitary was the key to survival. Only children, untainted by prejudice were innocent and the two of them certainly were not children.
As she'd stated before, two hundred years had been plenty of time for her to hone her abilities and gain control over herself. It'd taken her a while to bring herself to feed but once she had she'd only felt better and stronger afterwards. She'd been denied her child but they'd failed in claiming her life and she figured the best way to spite those men and the one who'd taken her child from her was to continue living while they were not. She smiled wistfully upon hearing the rather old English name, "Maxwell, British was the correct observation after all. I suppose I know the people of my home land. So what brings you to New York, Mr. Maxwell?"
The fact that they both wore gloves wasn't something overly interesting to her but a note was made nevertheless. What did matter was that this probably wasn't the person to be talking to if she wanted to know a thing or two about the city. However, this persona seemed decent enough but she wasn't certain she wanted to get caught up with someone who was conflicted as he was. She didn't want any trouble and split personas often caused such. She decided, though, that she was going to think of other matters that were a little more pressing. It was hard to say whether this vampire would prove resourceful or not but she saw no reason to create an unnecessary enemy by being ignorant or intolerant.
Instead of dwelling on the little tid bits she knew about this new vampire she decided that she would focus on other matters. Now that he was wearing her purple coat the blood stains were a lot less prominent though he still had yet to take care of his face. Corinne decided to take the liberty of helping him out yet again, procuring a handkerchief from her pocket and handing it to him. "You'd best rid yourself of that blood before someone suspects you're up to something. Sorry to be a**l."
By now Corinne was no longer bordering the entrance into Elyan's mind but she decided she would let him know that she'd done such so as not to be rude. "Forgive me but I habitually probe one's surface thoughts a little. I just assure that there is no malicious intent ebbing from you. I really should have asked first and hope this doesn't set us off on the wrong foot but I hope you can understand. I just have tendencies to be overly cautious and paranoid, just something that was required when I grew up I suppose. Either way, I completely forgot myself. Are you alright? I haven't the slightest if that's your own blood or if that's the blood from a recent kill you've made."
The woman calmly took her last few drags, allowing the ash to be blown away with the wind and the remainder of the filter she hadn't been able to smoke was quickly deposited in a metal case. Clearly it was a portable ash tray of sorts but she used it for her butts so as not to litter the streets. She certainly didn't care much for people and she probably didn't care much about their society but she wasn't about to be an a** hole and litter things everywhere. Instead, she used her portable tray and later threw them out into the contents of a garbage can.

Elyan's mouth clenched at the questioning of his motives, his fangs now being partially exposed. There was no way to avoid such a simple question, it was only a natural thing to ask. Still, he would have to tell her something and if he were to lie, it would have to be a damn good one because of the expression he made.
"I'm here in search of someone precious to me," Elyan replied, returning his face back to a more emotionless one. He didn't want to give away his emotions to a stranger, it was a sign of weakness which could be easily exploited. The darker moments of his past were a result of allowing himself to be pushed around. He had been babied, not just in his mortal life but his immortal one, too. Because of him, Ellie was taken from him and all he could do was stand there and helplessly watch the horrific event unfold. Every waking moment, he cursed himself and his foolishness. And that's how three-hundred years of his immortal life had been spent, dedicating everything he had to finding her; she was his sire, his friend and the one his heart belonged to.
The handkerchief snapped Elyan back to reality. As he wiped off the remnants of the blood which had dried to his face, he heard the female vampire's apology for probing into his surface thoughts.
"No need to apologize," Elyan said, flashing a quick smile. It was a friendly one, he wanted to prove to her that he was friendly. As for the blood question, he gladly answered. "Unfortunately, I had the pleasure of having a bullet enter my skull. Lucky for me, it wasn't a bullet made for executing vampires." That's right, Meredith was the one who had pulled the trigger. He wondered, though. Was she a friend or foe? For now, he would consider her the former of the two. How else would one react to the same situation? Again, if only he had been stronger.
"I suppose I got into a bit of troub.." Elyan began. A pulse-like feeling echoed throughout his body. It was painful, urging even. "Damnit," he muttered under his breath. His throat felt dry, parched.
'It was to be expected, right Elyan?'
