(( Hm ... perhaps I could even kill two birds with one stone here ... XD
And no problem, I'm being bugged to go get my shot and get groceries. A few hours of freedom! Woo! ))
'There. Now that you know it's the same thing as him, just as disgusting and all vampire, you should kill it.'
Meredith didn't mind the child leaving her in order to go and latch onto Elyan's leg, in fact, she probably preferred that. She didn't like the ice cold hand against her extremely warm hand, it just felt weird, like two auras drawing closer together just about to flare out and have some form of show down. The wolf had been urging a little more to be released as well and that hadn't been a comfortable idea at all. 'Shut up ... I'm not going to kill it ... even if it does creep me out. It's just a kid ...'
'It's a manefestation of the vampire and bloodlust within him. That being is not going to prove advantageous in this situation at all. Kill it.'
She shook her head, though it was to herself and Elyan, with his hyper awareness very well could have heard the conversation minus the fact the lycan blocked him from doing so. The lycan was the one who possessed the magicks in this case and it wasn't about to let the vampire know what was in it's mind nor what it's intentions were. No, those were best left unsaid and unheard.
"Oh ... well you still shouldn't go around killing humans. Just because you're a kid doesn't excuse the fact and I'll have to shoot you if you don't let her go ... I don't want to do this but I will if I have to."

Situated on the roof of a small building in the North-East corner Chris set up his Sniper Rifle and sat in waiting. He rested the high calliber Rifle on the floor and observed the scene below, concentrating on being to being trying to identiy potential targets for the nights warfare. Should he wait and risk a target moving out of the area or should he startle the humans and risk being spotted. One thing was for sure, if it was going to be anytime it had to be soon.

Suddenly it all goes silent and the wind stops in its tracks. No breeze, no noise and no nothing. " It's going to rain, and ive got a feeling that something. Something isn't right. Im leaving " The wind begins to rage and whistle asif angered by a sudden change " This area shall be lost, God tell's me so. No hunter shall walk here again in 10 days this area will be devoured. Mark my farthers words". Whislt packing Chris keeps aware of his surroundings. Slings his rifle on his back and strides qiuckening his pace and heads for the subway.

The child's eyes narrowed, realizing the woman's internal struggle. A larger smile formed on his face. The world around them almost seemed still, as if nothing else mattered, as if they were in a room secluded from society. Slowly, the child danced around towards the other side of Elyan, where the human girl still rest upon his right side.
"As long as Elyan lives his immortal life, I'll always be here," the child said, playfully. The young Elyan grabbed hold of Amber's right arm, and proceeded to lick upon her wrist, feeling the warm pulse beneath her skin. His eyes darted towards Meredith, tempting her to say something in regards to his actions.
"I am but Elyan's inner desires, the true being which he became so many years ago." The boy's eyes turned towards Elyan. For the moment, Elyan seemed like a lifeless being, allowing the child to act on his behalf like some puppet. His eyes were filled with a deep blood lust but, also hollow, devoid of any life. Elyan had given into his blood lust, not having the strength left to fight the internal battle which waged within his own mind and body.
"Don't you get it? A vampire sees humanity as nothing more than sustenance; or, that's how it should be." The young boy rested his forehead upon the girl's arm, glaring back at Meredith. "I believe you know what it's like to be 'different', right?" His voice was as cold as ice. He moved his mouth towards the girl's wrist once again. He opened his mouth, revealing the razor-sharp fangs before they sunk into the girl's flesh. Blood began to drip as the boy removed his mouth and smiled a blood-stained smile.

Meredith's eyes narrowed in turn and for a moment they became yellow again and this time they were much more primal, even more so she let out a viscious snarl and her teeth had elongated. She took a hasty but deliberate step forward, a scare tactic if one willed until her expression became one of absolute horror and shock as her eyes reverted back to hazel. She grabbed her cheeks for a moment and pinched as hard as she could, shouting her string of profanties afterwards in accompaniment to her realizing she wasn't dreaming. 'Oh s--t, I'm totally f--king losing it! That wasn't cool, you monster, whatever you are! Cut it out!
'Stop cursing, you needed a push and I gave you one and you're still not doing anything. What are you waiting for? This child is clearly mocking you and making fun of your sensitivity toward him. He's going to wait for you to stop him or he'll go about and do as he pleases. Do something!'
When Elyan grabbed hold of the girl's hand, Meredith took another step forward though this time as herself and not because she'd been 'pushed' to do so. Her eyes were more determined now and she was starting to realize that though the lycan was itching for a fight it was not lying to her, that this kid was waiting on her. As hard as it was to get past the fact that it wasn't a child standing before her, she would have to do so. She'd hunted things before, why was she freezing up now upon seeing a child and being a little friendly to some strange vampire that was overly secretive anyhow?
The huntress hastily drew her gun when the smaller manifestation of Elyan licked the girls wrist but she did not shoot. Her trigger finger was well trained to wait and not to twitch as all as she waited for her reason to shoot though she already had it. Why was she giving so many second chances? This was going to end badly just as the lycan had been warning her but she wasn't listening. Of course she wasn't listening! Why would she listen to some beast hollaring at her from inside of her?! It was absolutely absurd! She hadn't needed to listen to it before so why would she start listening to it now? It wasn't all-knowing or anything, it could piss the f--k off.
Meredith kept her finger on the trigger as the child continued to talk to her and explain what exactly he was and why he was there. Of course, this hadn't really happened with any other vampires she'd come across so she'd maybe have to shoot and ask questions later. Her breathing was slightly harsher than normal breaths seeing as her adrenaline was building up from the suspense of this moment and from trying to keep the wolf at bay. So far she'd done a pretty decent job of it but it was growing tiring and her mental capacity had gone to s--t, the headache wasn't there for no reason, after all.
The moment, however, Meredith smelled and detected blood, her finger was on the trigger faster than a dry trees response to being doused in flames. Her shots, three, rang out and she waited with her breath huffing to see if she'd managed to keep the kid down and out.

"Now, I don't know much about the way this big crazy city works" Julian proclaimed as he walked down the face of the alley, the light of a streetlamp silhouetting him in a way that prevented any detail from the front of his body to be seen. The only part of him that was capable of being seen at all was the end of his dog-end cigarette as he took a long drag, it flared up in such a way that the subtle wrinkles around his mouth and his grey'd facial hair were illuminated for a brief instant. "- But where I'm from, it's impolite to do.. Well, just about EVERYTHING you fine folks are getting up to". He flicked the cigarette to the ground and stood on it with his brown cracked leather work-boots, the smal metal plates making gentle thudding noises as he did.
"Please tell me, because believe me I'm DYIN' to know, what the hell is going on here" His voice was friendly, but it gave small subtle clues to the more threatening nature behind his statements. He had to be careful though, one of the two could be a Hunter, he'd heard about them being let into the ranks as of late. He assumed the baddy was the one with the small girl's blood on his teeth. He assumed the other one was the goodie, seeing as although she was obviously Lycan she hadn't transformed yet, but any other Werewolf he had known would've gone hairy already.
He kept a grip on his pistol, now nearly fully assured that the Vampire was the one he should be aiming at. He wasn't sure about Ms. Furbag, but she was quite innocent looking. Then again, you couldn't judge books by their covers in this business, as demonstrated by the toddler threatening the toddler that he had just pulled his gun on.

As the shots rang out, the child didn't move. Rather, he faded into nothingness while the bloody grin still on his face. Elyan was now active again, his left arm now bloody, with the three shots having entered his arm. Yet, his face only carried that same wicked grin the child once had, coupled with his primal, blood-red eyes.
"You won't stop me..." Elyan stated in a rather confident tone. His mouth revealed his fangs, which proved to be much larger than the child's fangs seen only a few seconds earlier. "And unlike the me you knew before, I won't hesitate to spill your blood if you continue to get in my way." His body began to lunge towards the Huntress, preparing to effectively try and end her life.
'Stop it!'
He stopped in his tracks. Elyan's face went from confident to one which reflected pain or a struggle of sorts. Whatever was happening, it was the internal struggle within Elyan's body firing up once again.
"You fool. This woman wishes to kill us and call it a day," Elyan spoke aloud. Whatever his reply was, it was only heard by whoever was in control of Elyan's body at the moment.
"Fine, I'll submit to your will this time," he smirked. Elyan turned his attention back towards Meredith. Once again, revealing his dark, twisted smile which became a quirk of the darker side of Elyan.
"It seems you were rather effective, after all," he plainly said. Within a matter of seconds, Elyan was gone. Whoever was in control of his body was able to push his abilities to their limits. All that remained of their meeting were two pools of blood. One, belonging to Elyan and the other, belonging to the girl.

The voice of the old, already condescending hunter failed to completely register in Meredith's mind though her cheek as well as her eye slightly twitched in mild reaction to him. However, she was too focused on the vampire before her to pay any heed to the old geezer who was farting around and being effective at being an a** hole before he'd even been introduced to the situation. Normally she would have sighed and rolled her eyes at such a thing, b---hed him out perhaps but that wasn't going to happen in this situation. Her mind was numbing fast and she had to pay attention to the wolf that was pestering her along with the vampire that was attempting to feed right in front of her.
"Oh f--king hell I won't! You watch me, I'll shove that little miniature you right up your a-- and you won't be able to sit for a motherf--king week, you filthy leech!"
Meredith's stance changed as she prepared for the physical confrontation, preparing her gun to fire it again while reaching for her axe with the other arm. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending who's view you were taking on the situation, the vampire abruptly halted in his tracks. She raised an eyebrow and hesitated again, which would prove to be a huge mishap in her judgement later on for the vampire would use the hunter's ineffectiveness to act to his advantage.
"Rather eff-FF--K! D--nit to hell! I can't believe this! What the f--k was I thinking?! I can't believe I gave into your stupid bull s--t! Ugh! Now that girl's gonna die! What the hell is wrong with me?! I can't even kill something properly anymore!" Meredith began her way of grieving and dealing with the fact that she'd been able to make a difference in someone's life and she'd completely faltered and failed to act. She'd been given the perfect opportunity to save a life and she hadn't done a f--king thing about it! She'd just sat there and had tea and biscuits and crumpets until the bloody vampire had decided to draw blood and her the gun.
'I told you your hesitation was foolhardy but you chose not to listen to me. If it'd been up to-'
"SHUT THE F--K UP! I DON'T NEED TO HEAR YOU LECTURING ME ON HOW TO DO MY JOB! I KNOW I F--KED UP AND I'M A BLOODY FAILURE, ALRIGHT?!" She grabbed onto her temples and let out a furious scream that was combined with an inhuman roar of sorts as her emotions started toying with her and bringing her closer to the brink of a transformation right on the spot. Her mind had been numbed and now it'd been blasted into full gear and the human portion of her was being absolutely overwhelmed and melted down by it. The wolf was starting to prevail and become predominant.
Had she been in a clearer state of mind the vampires words would haunt her and she would be contemplating what he'd meant by such a thing but at the moment she was too overtaken by her failure. It was all she could dwell and focus upon with her hallowing mind and the wolf was certainly beginning to take advantage of the exhausted woman. Her canines had elongated again and her eyes were pure yellow now, a wolves eyes and her ears as well as the rest of her were slowly producing hair as white as the mother moon herself. A beautiful glacial coat was beginning to form underneath the huntress' forest green trench coat and soon the trembling would begin.

"F*ck" Julian muttered as he took out another cigarette, lighting a match across the brick wall and then cupping it in his hands, holding the cig in his mouth as it flared up again. He took a drag and waited a second, finally exhaling the smoke out into the cold night air. His face was the epitome of disgruntled-ness as he looked at Meredith's obvious transformation.
"Hoooold on, don't go Wolf on me just yet missy, I still don't know whether it's okay to fire a few warning shots. Perhaps into your eye-sockets" He held up his hands in a sign of peace, his pistol hanging off of his thumb by the trigger. His gruff Brooklyn accent held a friendlier tone now, mostly because he was caught with his Vampire killin' gun against an enemy that without a thought could tear out his ribcage. Well, the heavy iron cuirass he kept under his duster would probably help in that respect, but still, only to an extent.
He could tell that no matter what he said it wouldn't make a difference in what was about to happen, so he got in a stance that would allow him to flee into the street, get into a good hiding position, get his Lycan killin' gun, and THEN engage the enemy. At least he had his weighted walking stick, held between the thumb and fore-finger of his other hand. A good blow to the head would cause enough of a distraction to at least get into a bigger place with more room to run away.

The wolf exhaled gruffly through what was still the girls nose and was about to release itself entirely when something halted it completely. It began struggling for breath as if the air it was breathing had been flowers a small child carelessly yet thoughtfully picked for their mother out of her own prized garden. The effect was not at all pleasant and the wolf began wheezing, which progressed to hacking, which eventually fell to choking. It'd ceased entirely and was motionless but for it's gagging and choking, still suspended in mid transformation. The tables could easily turn either direction but eventually tears began adorning the glacial coat that was slowly forming, giving it the appearance of melting snow, almost as if it were a supposed sign that was symbolizing something.
Almost as quickly as the fit had started it ceased completely and was followed by the woman falling to the ground gasping for breath as any beast that'd just had their lungs unexpectedly flushed with water would. The human side was trembling but not with the rage or excitement of which the wolf had been moments before. Though exhausted and defeated emotionally, the girl had managed to prevail in keeping the wolf at bay just long enough to latch onto her precious mind once again. She was herself and no one else, that was the way it was going to stay. There was no way in hell she was going to turn into a monster and run rampant around the city because there was no telling what the wolf would do if granted such freedom. She had no guarantees and neither did the wolf due to that fact.
The harsh breathing eventually flowed into more rhythmic, less erratic breaths but they were still sharp for she was now kneeling, both hands and knees on the ground, crying. Tears streamed from her now hazel eyes and all features of the wolf had been banished by the now human presence. She was again herself, her mind no longer numb, her headache ever present and bound to worsen with the fact that she was crying.
It was hard to accept but she'd let that girl slip through her fingers as if she weren't a veteran hunter at all but some inexperienced, naive little girl that didn't know any better. How could she have let this happen? She was supposed to be leading the hunters and she was a complete and total basketcase! She couldn't hunt right, she couldn't even control her own body! And now she was hearing people's thoughts on and off as if she was listening to some thoughts channel on the radio that was constantly stuck in her head like one of those annoying no talent songs that constantly played through everyone of the present's mind.
Finally she managed to notice the old man that'd been a hairslength or so away from losing his life to her. She was certain the lycan would have mauled him to death just to prove to Meredith that it was power in its entirety and that she would pay for disobeying its wishes. After all, it was exerting its postition as alpha, or beta in this situation and it was being denied entirely by what it perceived as something far weaker than it. It was jostling to regain its position but Meredith's stubborness wasn't about to fall flat even in the hardest of times.
'Yeah, that's right, b---h. Don't you ever f--king mess with me again. I'll kick your a--!'
The girl managed to pull herself up off the ground and wiped her chin as well as her cheeks clear of any tears with her forearm and came to face the old man, her expression difficult to read. "So you're a human, huh? Aren't you kind of old and frail-ish for hunting anymore? You must have nothing better to do with your life, I guess ... Well ... uh ... sorry for almost killing you. I guess it's good that I didn't or else I'd kind of have to document it and everything ... Heh heh ... I'm Meredith Jackson, you'd be?" She extended her gloved hand though the claws that'd begun to form on her hands previously had tattered and ripped through the fingers.

Julian had watched the transformation passively while still contemplating his roots of escape subconsciously, he knew that he would've been mince-meat if the Lycan had ended up turning completely, but then again he did always have a certain good luck. He took another drag of his dog-end and exhaled the smoke through his nostrils, the long thin plumes rising high into the sky. He started to get a firmer grip on his Uzi when he noticed that the transformation had been halted, and finally reversed. A thin smile of relief spread across his wrinkled features, which was soon washed from his face when the petulant she-wolf started to mouth off. He maintained a thin smile, but most of the warmth had been drained.
"Well I did have something to do with my life, was called my wife and child, but they were ripped apart by one of your kind. The name's Julian Cudgell" He shook the now once again human hand, grinning "And let me tell yah, I'm far from old and frail, lady" He briefly contemplated crushing her hand in his grip, but then he realized he was shaking hands with a Lycan, who could pull his hand off of his arm and beat him to a pulp with it. He finished off his cigarette and flicked it to the ground, stomping it out much like the first. "Now one question, who the holy hell was that creep you were standing off with?"

Eden's expression darkened upon him mentioning that lycans had torn his family apart but it was more the whole mentioning of the 'her kind' thing that'd upset her. After all, she'd very recently been turned into a lycan and she still had yet to transform into one except for the absolute first time she'd done so. "Yeah well I wouldn't be this way if I'd had a f--king choice about it ... but I'm not about to let these kids die because that'd make me a murderer whether abortion's friggin' legalized or not. It's disgusting and I'm not that sort of animal ... Unfortunately, I am what I am ... woo hoo ... get to lead the hunters, ra ra ra ..."
However, her morbidity faded slightly upon him cheering up toward the end of his sentence by introducing himself and shaking her hand. "Oh no? You're frail to me, I'm a friggin' tank or bulldozer now and you're what, a golf cart perhaps? You weren't scared s--tless, I'll give you that much but you definitely were preparing to hightail it, weren't you? I can tell for some reason, don't ask me why, I just know you were going to run. Not that I really blame you, I guess you aren't a stupid old man, that's for sure." In a funny way it was her way of a compliment though the old man probably wouldn't come to realize that until he'd actually spent a bit of time with Meredith and her toughness insecurities.
"Elyan Maxwell ... I met him earlier in the evening and he seemed a decent guy. He'd almost come to draining a different girl and I could just sense the sadness and digust he'd felt with himself so I felt kind of bad for him. I gave him two blood packets to help him out but apparently those weren't enough to keep him at bay for long ... Then he took that girl and I happened to notice, followed and did s--t all ... I'm the hunter leader and I can't even hunt right now ..." She sighed and became depressing again, moody, sullen. Her fiery spirit was certainly there but it was being doused by her expectations of herself and the fact that she'd just let a life go like it mattered no more than the smoked cigarette the old man had just crushed beneath his heel.
Meredith had quit smoking a long time ago, having gotten into the habit when she was a teenager due to the fact that when she began street brawling she actually found that some fights required her to have a decent lung capacity. She quit in order to get herself into peak physical condition and hadn't started up again, that was, until now if the old man wasn't a Scrooge and let her have a cigarette and lent her a lighter. "Don't mean to be a mooch but could you lend me a cigarette? I think nicotine might do this stupid system of mine a little good and I think I don't have to worry about my lungs as much."

Julian's condescending smile remained, but it was more frozen in place as he slowly started to realize that he had just made a crack at the lead Hunter of the area. He subtly shifted it into a more warm smile and replied "Well I can see you're a woman that sticks to her morals - Must've been a bit of a hard choice, either becomin' the thing you go out of your way to kill, or killing an innocent little child" He wasn't pro-choice, he believed that enough people were being killed by natural disasters, disease and the monsters they hunted that the last thing they needed were LESS babies. Well, he said he believed that, it was really a secret jealousy over the fact he didn't HAVE kids, well, not anymore.
"'Ey, listen, I may be a good Hunter, but I'm not good enough to go toe-to-toe with a pissed off Lycan" He smirked, leaning against the alley wall "First thing my trainer taught me, standing and fighting is all well and good, but the best hunters know when to flee" He stood up straight again, and winked "And I might be a golf cart to you, but I'm an armor-plated golf-cart" He said happily as he tapped his chest, the iron cuirass resulting in a loud CLANK noise bouncing off of the walls of the alley. "Can never be too careful whilst hunting the damned" He didn't respond to the stupid old man remark, he just took it as a compliment and ignored any possible negativity that could be held within the statement.
He nodded and handed over the cigarette, taking a match from his inside pocket and striking it across the rough leather of his boots. He was about to offer it to her when he suddenly realized, "Are you sure this is gonna be alright for the baby? I'm no pediatrician, but last I heard nicotine plus unborn fetus equals bad".

Meredith wasn't ususally the type to hold something against anyone unless it happened to be particularly offensive or obscene. Of course, there were exceptions where certain comments made were absolutely intolerable such as racist related comments. She wanted her hunters to be tolerable of one another and though she realized that some would not get on very well with others in some situations, she wasn't about to tolerate anything that was a racial jab at another. This man had just made a racial stab at her but it hadn't really been in hatred, more a statement of fact and somewhat suggesting that her 'kind' were evil. The thing was, though, that Meredith truly wasn't a lycan at heart. She'd never have chosen this route if things hadn't gone wrong but they had and she'd been forced to become what she was now. She felt iscolated, though, because she'd never intended on joining the lycans and she was still herself and a human at heart. Talk about conflicted.
"Pfft, yeah. Morals are pretty much the only thing I've got left and going for me if I can't even hunt properly now. Ugh ... I just hope this stupid media leak gets cleared up somehow so that my hunters don't have to worry about footage of them getting on television as well as my lycan and vampiric hunters not having to worry about cops not stopping to ask what side who's on. This is all just so ridiculous and since this leak I've lost a ton of hunters. This just all out blows and maybe we need to find a way to band together and try to convince the general public that monsters don't exist and that it was somehow some evil military experiment or something." It was clear she was pretty miffed by the prospect of things so far and that this wasn't really serving either side well either way. Everyone was taking a beating and everyone had to be constantly watching over their shoulders just in case.
Meredith smiled at the old man's comment and nodded her head in agreement after she took a moment to contemplate the fact of the matter. "You're right. Not many hunters who are human have a fair chance of taking a pissed off lycan head-on physically. The floor would have certainly been wiped and things wouldn't have been too good for you." She listened closer as he began speaking about his trainer and she couldn't help but wonder how old this guy was, "Your trainer's a pretty smart guy, then, guess it's good you've retained that lesson throughout your long years. And as for the armor-plated part, do you honestly think a little armor would prevent me from eventually crushing you to a pile of torn flesh and snapped bones? It'd only delay me, I've seen first hand what lycans can do when they're pissed off. It's not hard for them to rip through just about anything in their way."
Upon being reminded that things she wanted to do in order to comfort her would be bad for her kids she rolled her eyes and sighed heavily. "Yeah ... You're right. D--nit I keep forgetting that even though it's pretty hard to forget when you're extremely fat and formerly had issues walking but now that I'm a lycan it's less noticeable in the physical department. Agh, this blows. I can't even have some nicotine when I want it ..." She sat down against the building across the alleyway from Julian, leaning the back of her head against it and sighing as she looked upwards at the night sky. There were stars, God forbid she could see some through the smog tonight ...
'Someday this is going to get better ... There will be a day when things look up ... It's just not right now ... F--k Will, Krii, Veroen, where are you guys?'

Julian listened to her, because to be honest that was the only thing he could do. He didn't know enough of the story to make a contribution, and somehow he felt that she wasn't interested in his reply anyway, so he let the topic slide until a slightly later date. Checking his watch, he started to sigh, it was only early in the morning, he had a few more hours to hunt yet. Not that it mattered, now the media was shining its' flashlight on the hives of scum and evil that were the Vampire & Lycan bases, the evil creatures were being more subtle in their dealings, well, some of them anyway.
Julian chuckled at the armor-plating comment, saying "Listen, if it gets me one less claw mark in my kidneys then I think it's a success" He had learned over the years that every injury counted, especially now in his old age. "My trainer was a wise guy, yeah, not wise enough to avoid being ripped in half by one of them Tainted things, but pretty wise" He chuckled again, but this time with a sense of morbidity behind it, more of a chuckle at the bleakness of existence, the sort that an alcoholic shares with a barman at 3 in the morning, when the more successful bars are closed. "Thought the damn thing was a Vampire, boy, did he f-ck it up big-time".
Julian listened to her moans about pregnancy, and then said "Well look at it this way, when the baby's born you'll be able to fill the house with smoke to the point where the fire marshal is called over" He didn't expect this to cheer her up, more of an observation of her options "That is, if your little nipper isn't raising too much hell. My daughter was bad enough, I can't imagine her plus the boon of growing fur occasionally" He took a drag of the cigarette he had previously offered to her and had a coughing fit, which didn't settle for a good four seconds. "God, these things are going to kill me before the god-damn blood suckers do".
