James is a soldier. first and foremost. trained, disciplined. he's seen that kind of thing before, and is prepared for it. That not saying that the first viable opportunity comes up, that James won't make that person's life a living hell for the rest of there soon to be in agonizing pain life. not to mention, the criteria for Jelena's addition was the iclusion of her Fenrirs. that is a formidable team..if you've ever seen wolves take something down. well trained as a military team with precision and deadly skill.
Cymarron has a 'pack' mentality. not trained for combat in a organized team effort..he was bred and trained for at best, team on team arena combat.
the other 'relationships' were becuae thier skill/power/ability is base on having someone in teh party that I woudl find more hinderance than help. Tarathiel/Nailah/Aura.
and Kieran and Piper's bond was the reason I tag them together. Piper's longrange skill are perfected, but her melee/close range aren't that great. thought through bonding with daddy, she can siphon from his skill and thus is both a deadly accurtate and effective close and long range fighter.
So, my team stands as:
James, Jelena(with Fenrirs), Piper, Linkus. however if the Fenrir pack is unavailable, I'll go with Twilight in Jelena's place.

Actually you do have it backwards though. It's Aurah that needs Eclipse not the other way around.
Piper/Kieran/Malik/Fianna can all be a good/bad combination. Elvish bonds give them the ability to place perfectly off of each other, but perhaps tugs from thier own concentration if they feel a distress response spike in another and want to prevent that.
Vampire combinations are out completely. They're all blood bonded and too dangerous and too easily drawn by them. Bad things would just happen all over. Taking one alone may be alright, but then you have the sun thing to deal with.
Cymarron has the tendency to lash, as does Sevilin and even Tyler.
Zahara would be good if she wasn't short tempered, Niah is an empath, Larissa isn't good with fire and his quick tempered as well.

actually, the Ancients (Masa/Lynx) and the higher Elders (Darvien/Thalia) would be VERY effective teammates in an urban enviroment. the manipulation expertises and powers to aid could turn a cityscape into a huge fodder gathering/army resource.
they can get access to virtually anything in a bueracracy enviroment. and it wouldn't even require bibing with cash.
in a laybrinth/Myth situation though yeah, they are severely limited.
Larissa is weak in urban enviroments, but she can be devastating in a high foliage/forested area. I mean the whole battlefield is hers to manipulate.

Hmm...well this makes everything so much more difficult though. Main problem as I see it is each and every character has their flaws so you learn to work with them. True, Niah is an empath but she's also a damn good healer. Consequently, Sevilin is the same wihtout the imparing empath ability.
Basically the way I see it, you need a balanced team. You can't have all cruel, all young, all elves, all brute strenght, or even all brains.
Therefore, my team is:
Eclipse, Aiden, Cymarron, and Sevilin

4) Ash, (Archangel) Urieal, Nelphean the Enchanter, Nelphean Brightsabre.
Ash is a scatterbrain, but one who's favorite spell is Time Stop.. Urieal is my favorite rogue and (shadow mage)**. Nelphean the Enchanter can be both a fighter, and a mage. Nel brighty is my healer. Each member of this team can stand on his own, as well as work within the group.
(shadow Mage)**, i'd rather not fully explain this. IT would take too long/ be pointless, I'll write a Character thingy on it in the sub forum sometime. [Shadow Dancer would be more acccurate]

What was taken, what is sacrificed?

Well,if Lady D found out I sacrificed my dessert to save her, she would look at me funny, then claim that I only value her slightly more than my after dinner snack.

what I am willing to sacrifice for it..first thing that comes to mind..my brother.
Jelena's reaction woudl probably be to sedate me and send me to Fein.
James' reaction woudl be to hit me with his metal fist and send me to Fein.
Piper would make me sit through one of Malik's lectures on Family.
Linkus probably woudl look at me funny, shrug, and that's it.
So that's a no go.
next...my ability to walk.
James woudl probably just build me a bionic wheelchair.
Jelena would beat me within a inch of death if James didn't stop her.
Piper would look at me funny and shake her head and mutter somethign about 'stupid humans'
Linkus woudl ask is James coudl make one with ammo and guns on it.
that ones iffy, depending on if they coudl stop Jelena from killing me.
but the one that works, is sacrificing the second biggest thing in my little world, the television.
Linkus wouldn't care.
Jelena woudl probably think it's a good idea.
James woudl agree with Jelena, prefering computer to tv.
Piper would ask if she coudl take it home for target practice probably.
