something else i have been thinking would be cool is makeing a non-character XV22 suit an HQ choice, kind of like in DoW: Soulstorm. That thing could be made into a beast.

she has a point you know. BTW... Does the pretty girl play 40k? or just relish in the nerdiness?
I used to play Inquisitor, I just hang around to prevent this place from becoming a complete nerdhole.

ah i see... well i dont think its working just the way you want it to. I think the nerds are... well you know how nerds can be... XP
You are all below me, with some notable exceptions.

dont get too conceeded now... sure you got a rockin body but dont let it go to your head...

I'm sorry Caleidah, but if you will allow me to say, that is the most conceited selfish trite I've read tonight. I must say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what some consider beauty others consider quite unattractive, personality is half the game, let's see how those looks hold up as the years pass. Also, to make a generalization of the Warhammer 40k fan base is ridiculous considering how relatively mainstream it is, unless you consider video games a "nerd thing" too, to which I would respond "What is this, the 80's?".

Regardless, to each their own, opinions are opinions, you're all being silly etc etc.

I for one, find you a welcomed addition to our little group, plus I find your teasing of Mac quite amusing mrgreen and hope that you don't take my words too harshly,

EHEM, anyway, TAU GIRL PILE:

I think that Tau should have a special character aside from her that actually focuses on shooting weapons. Aun'va is CC oriented. Farsight is CC oriented. Even Shadowsun has to get up in people's faces.

And good luck Caleidah, people already complain enough about Tau being overpowered, underpowered, etc.

It would be nice to see some new models for other races other than the humans burning_eyes , atleast GW threw us a bone and we're getting out Tyranids in January, which I cannot wait for mrgreen . Hopefully that plastic Trygon is more than just a rumor ¬__¬, I'd be quite miffed if it wasn't..

And I guess we got that new Battle suit from Forgeworld, it's beautiful isn't it? I'd get one but I'm trying to limit my spending burning_eyes god knows I've spent over 2000 last month alone...

I totally agree. I would like to see a guy with an upgraded Cyclic cannon or improved missile pods with different types of ammo, like the Marrines have frag and krak stuff. A more effective EMP weapon would be cool too. Any fans of the WizKids MechWarrior Dark Age here? If so, something like the TSEMP, aka Tight Stream EMP. an aimable EMP with decent range that would render them useless for a while.

and btw Lt. Brookman, i AM sad. my record against Marrines in like 2 wins and 25+ losses. I just cant get 'em!

HELL YES I AM burning_eyes
You know, I recall a guy on 4chans Warhammer 40k board who cuts up his old MechWarrior stuff to pimp out his Battlesuits xd

...And how do you manage to lose with Tau against Space Marines? My friend plays as them and I've never seen him lose to any of the store regulars Space Marine armies burning_eyes

I bought one for artistic purposes, but from what I've heard, it isn't very good at all in-game?

You can always get the XV-22, use the enclosed helmet and convert it with the proper weaponry, then counting it as a regular XV8 Crisis Suit.

Marines are hard enemies for Tau for their overall toughness and tendency to move fast into assault where Tau are, erm, at disadvantage. You can shoot tac squad to third of initial size, it will still pwn fire warriors badly...
Tau badly need more ap2-3 weapons imho. A railrifle upgrade for 1-3 firewarriors per squad, perhaps?

ummmm...... Str 5, AP5, Rg. 30" really? sure theres armor to be made, but with a markerlight and 12-24 shots ripping you a new a*****e power armor can only stand for so long.

Rail-Gun. three words Broadside Battle Suit... enough said.

Hammerhead- Submunition, Regular Munition.

Crisis Suits on Active Deny system (get on hill, shoot to ********, get off hill. all in one turn.) Active deny system, you shoot at them, they stare at a target that isnt there.

If you cant beat Marines with something like that then you need to reconsider your tactic and army because i play marines, i used to play tau... Marines just say ******** it, when they see Tau.

Tau are an army that mirrors modern fighting forces more or less. Only minus squad based support weapons, instead they need to work in concert with other units on the battlefield to get the support they need. Be it seeker missiles shot at a target painted by a Shas'ui or some silly one-two combo. But the Tau have the second best basic weapon in the game, the pulse rifle is not something to baulk at.

i guess i just have dice that hate me then, cause i have tried all kinds of different tactics and still get my butt handed to me by Marrines. Ah well, it is nice to see that Dark Age was more popular then it is locally.

"The Lasgun is the best weapon ever. Look you can play golf with it, throw it in a swamp, hit it with a rock, and it still fires... Oh s**t."

best basic troops weapon?
ap3 bolter on 1k sons

the point about marines is they tend to charge in second turn of any battle.
bikes, jump packs, drop pods and land raiders allow them to do this just fine...
and Tau have a gross of 1 power weapon in the army - on special character!
