you know people are people. you should go on what skills a person has and experiance. i know this may be rude but if someone is better than another higher him! just don't do higher on the basis that you need a certain number of blacks, whites, asians, other.
Mozilla?

I downloaded Mozilla, but I haven't installed it yet. I'm still wondering if it's good to use or if there are any other third party versions I should check out. Hopefully the others will get on tonight and help.
Ah, yes, if it isn't affirmative action. If you ask me, the whole concept behind affirmative action is basically, like Ashram said, diversity. Idealistically speaking, if two people who apply for a job are almost equal in everyway when it comes to qualifications, but one is a minority, the minority is chosen to provide a sort of racial quota. Companies are always proud to have a diverse workgroup, but now they have to have one by law in some states.

Companies are always proud to have a diverse workgroup, but now they have to have one by law in some states. I did a research paper on affirmative action for Political Science this summer...Given the pros and cons of both sides of the argument, I still have to go on the side that is against affirmative action. Not for any racist views or what-not, but mainly because of the idea that affirmative action, viewed from one perspective, can give the impression that "because you are african/chinese/whatever or because you are female/male/whatever ( whee ) we have to give you a job because you couldn't get it on your own because you are blablablabla" It's kind of degrading if you ask me.
