x.x it's not as bad as I first thought, but still sort-of confused about it since most of the people who acted like they knew me I think graduated highschool a year or two after I did.

It all can vary from school to school and teacher to teacher.
In highschool and lower people usually gave a few minutes leeway. One teacher I had for the first class of the day would even say you were just late if you showed up near the end of his class with the work done, but then again he was weird anyway.
In my collage classes I've had teachers who will mark you as absent if you are more then a minute late. It's caused me to have to withdraw from two classes due to the fact one was across campus, and the other had a teacher who let the class run late.

Theres a new system here now.
When u come too late 3 times in one semester, U get a week "Morning Detention" (litteral translation).
That means u have to be at school at 7.45 AM instead of 8.30 PM.
When u come one time more too late (morning detention counts too) you get another week of morning detention plus a week of noon detention. (which means u can't go out of school during noon (this is really bad))
One more time too late and u get a giant writing task.
One more time too late and we get chance to get expelled! gonk
No fair!
Even when u come too late due to the bus! scream

My teacher said that if we missed three days we would be dropped from the class, and we are marked absent if we arnt in class on time, one minute late and we are absent.
Kinda sucks, im crossing my fingers that vivian will work with me and make it easy for me to be early each day. lol

... How the hell can the animal shelter not tell you what address your dog was picked up at if your neighbor says the animal control was on your property chasing something?
edit: oh yay, now another neighbor of mine admits to calling the pound after the fact about a dog trotting around like it owned the place -.-
