Thanks everyone! I'm so glad that Zoe finally arrived. She definitely was overdue since she came out with peeling skin. We think that she was slow to arrive because she was posterior.

Here's Zoe's birth story:

I had been having contractions that were different feeling from Braxton-Hicks since Tuesday and had gone in to the hospital twice only to be sent home. On Friday the contractions were all strong contractions, but I wasn't going to go in again only to be sent home. I waited until they were 2-3 minutes apart.

We got to the hospital around 11:30pm. When I went into triage and had the monitors put on, Boo's heartrate was low-in the 50s and 60s. That was scary. They turned me on my side and put oxygen on me and Boo's heartrate went back up. They checked my cervix and I was at a 4. I was admitted and sent down to a birthing room.

By 2am I was at a 6 so things were looking good. I was handling labor well. The contractions really hurt, but I could breathe through them. Some time later I hit a 7 and then...nothing. I didn't keep progressing. I hit transition around 4am and was having awful back labor but I kept staying at a 7. The contractions didn't have any downtime between them at all. It was horrible.

The doctor was called about 6am, I think, but she didn't show up until 7:30am. Everyone was wondering where she was. She finally showed up and checked me and said I could go ahead and push.

Sometime after I started pushing, the anesthesiologist came in to tell me what would happen if I needed him. I really don't remember what he said. I just figured that it was standard for him to come talk to laboring patients. Apparently, though, he talked to my dad and they had a team waiting for me in case I needed an emergency c-section. Joel also heard the doctor say that she was giving me one last contraction to push through and then they were taking me for a c-section. Good thing I didn't hear that! My last push might not have been as effective if I had been nervous about it. Zoe was born just in the nick of time!

I managed to avoid both a c-section and drugs during l&d, except for the local the doctor gave me for the episiotomy. I did opt for some drugs afterwards though. I figured that I needed to be able to rest some while I was in the hospital.

My body seems to be healing quite well. I'm a little sore from the episiotomy and my muscles are understandably achy, but overall I feel really good. Zoe is breastfeeding like a pro. My milk came in last night and so far engorgement hasn't been too painful at all. It's weird having breasts bigger than my belly again. xd

Okay, I hear Zoe waking up. Gotta go. I posted pics in the pic thread.

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where to put it...
I saw this website url in a commercial on TV the other day (it's a Canadian website). It has information for teens, parents AND teachers about sex and sexuality. Looks very very informative. I've posted it in my guild, but also wanted to give you guys a heads-up too. heart

That's a great link! And hilarious to boot! Never imagined you could make a mouse send that image. lol. I'm giggling my tushie off over here. It's also really informative, and the humor helps. A lot. I like humor.

Nikolita, we got rulers in school(cheep little plastic one companies put their logos on) with that website and those mouse pics on them. Actually they were in this room for a group I volunteered for and I kept taking them. People would take it out of my pencil case, look at it and then give me a strange look...I laughed everytime. They would asked for a ruler and I would give it to them and then they gave me even funnier looks. To me it was a good little ruler(s) but for some reason i never went to the website...*goes to website*

Thanks! I commissioned the avy edit before Zoe was born, pending the info on whether Boo was a boy or girl.

Here's Z's hospital webpage:

Hello fellow moms. Not sure if you guys read/follow the special needs thread. Today is the day I go to a meeting which is the conclusion to my son's evaluation by the school for them to certify his autism. This is super huge because a certification will open up doors for us to qualify for a lot of special programs we could otherwise not get into. I just feel that the sooner and younger we get him into this stuff, it can make such a difference for him. We can help him overcome some of the areas that make learning difficult for him.

However, I have been made aware that not enough people on the team felt he was severe enough to be certified for the autism. I"m not sure what I can do there today. But, emotionally, I can feel myself upheaving already this morning. It was all i could think about last night.

I almost have to wonder... if some people were paid off to not certify him ... because the district special needs head heard from me the summer before naaman started school that I had been given advice from the neurologist to put him in an AI classroom. Mr. Badajewski insisted that he would be ok in the programs in our district. Certifiying my son could lead to the eventual removal of him from thsi district into special program.

I really hate our district. We just heard from some friends of ours who has a boy in naaman's class. He was kept home from school due to illness so the school sent child protective services over there. It's like... if you send the kid to school while still sick, they call you to come get them. They also make a point to tell you not to send them sick, etc and get on yoru case. So... you don't send them for sickness... and they still get on you. geez.. you just can't win with these people. It's not just that one family either. I've heard from people with older children who've had issues with people in this district who call child services on them. It almost makes me wonder if some CPS workers found some teachers who would work as people on the inside with them to score a certain quota of numbers...

I wish there were a way in our small town to put something out there.... like a website or message board... where any parents who've had to deal with CPS over bogus calls related to the school... to post and get together so they can all go to a school board meeting to protest. They didn't call CPS on me, but last year they did harrass me when Naaman had ringworm. Well, I have to leave now for the meeting. Please think of me guys. If you pray... please please pray and lift me and naaman up before the Lord, thanks.
