I recently listened to a series of college lectures about comparative religions.
Religions tend to go through a trend of two parts
a church and a sect
A church being a massive belief system that has been around for a long time. Eventually people begin to doubt that belief system, and find that it is impure and corrupt, and break away creating their new vision. This is a sect. Then the sect grows, and grows, and eventually becomes a church, which later produces sects. So on and so forth.
Over time, all things become corrupt with pride, greed, and lack of an open mind.
Not only is this true with organized religion, but with individuals (i look at myself), with politics, with everything. The world is constant motion, and though ideals last for a while, they must change. Most of us are to weak to accept we are wrong, and organizations are even worse, since they have the iron fist to slaughter those who point out the flaws. Not only is this religion, (atheist Marxists helped millions to their graves).
The issue is, that people cannot disagree with each other and still be friends. For the most part their is screaming until knives are drawn and people start stabbing.
Blind faith is wrong.......
Take for example atheists who say all beliefs and religions are ******** stupid.....
In essence, the way it comes across is, anything that cannot immediately be proven with what technology we have today, CANNOT EXIST AND IS WRONG. There can be no higher power, no ghosts, no magic, no life after death because we cannot prove it. Just like a couple thousand years ago, the earth was flat because we couldn't prove otherwise. Just like a couple thousand years ago, people didn't think it was necessary to wash their hands while treating wounds and sickness, because such things were caused by spirits. There was no way to prove otherwise. Blind faith in only what we can see, is as dumb as blind faith in what we cannot see.
Not only is that true, but the scientific folk believe in the big bang theory. They will scream their heads off that that is the origin of the universe. This is blind faith in something that hasn't been proven, that could be wrong. and if you look at it, so much of science is theory, things that we cannot yet prove. This doesn't mean that it is wrong. It just means it hasn't been proven.
Anyone who walks up to me and says god, gods, spirits, the soul, higher consciencess, a greater purpose, and freewill, cannot exist is a damned idiot in my oppinion. While i agree that everything
Abrahamic Religions: Countless reasons Hinduism: Countless Reasons Buhdissm: Countless reasons Wiccans: Countless Reasons Scientologists: Countless Reasons Everything: countless reasons
Have issues, and may not be right. Some parts of each could be true. And cannot be disproven. And to be an silly person who denies one theory of the world, and pushes forth another is a hypocrite and an idiot.
I do not know the proper path, I am just as bad as all the others, because i have my beliefs, i have faith in what i have learned through thought and study. And i might be wrong on some things, but it is my mistakes. I ridicule everyone, including myself. Because we are all self righteous bastards that refuse to be wrong. Calling someone else stupid for their beliefs is just proof that you are blind. Accepting that you are stupid for what you believe is just one more step to understanding the divine comedy that is life.
I do believe what i believe. But i am not dumb enough to deny that someone else might be right. Or that every one of us is wrong. All because we don't understand, or can't see everything right now, does not mean it does not exist.
I worship no god, my religion is my own, and still I am a hypocrite that preaches against certain beliefs while saying to accept everyone's beliefs. If now you are thinking (wow, this dickhole is an idiot) your probably right. But you cannot deny that I have made a logical argument that there could be, and ARE things we cannot understand yet. We can't fly out of our solar system yet, but someday we will. We can't see into the realms of the gods yet, but some day we might.
Don't discount things you don't understand or don't want to believe. Everyone has ******** up. Everyone makes mistakes. And nobody knows everything. Live by Socrates "I know that I know Nothing) and you will do alright. Accept that the universe is infinite as in knowledge, as are beliefs or theory.
Think of how many millions of people have died for their beliefs, from christians, to pagans, to atheists. How many do you think doubted for a second their beliefs while watching their organs spill onto the ground after being wrenched out by their enemies sword?
You can say whatever you want, but things might just be beyond our possible comprehension. We are only human. Only mortal. And we can only do the best we can.
Thats my oppinion.....

Meanwhile I play through Mass Effect a second time, only on a different difficulty. Veteran's not to tough on here. I think when I actually go to beat the game on Insanity I'll just melee my way to victory.

I peeled my sunburns. :/
I'm pretty excited for Mass Effect 3 as well, but I need to play 2 some more since I just got it. :p Me and the dude at Gamestop talked about it. We're both agree that even though ME3 comes out in March and Skyrim comes out in November we'll still be to busy playing Skyrim to do much in ME3. xD
