while i haven't read the whole series of yu yu hakusho, from what i've read/seen, its pretty beast.

yusuke, the main character, is a no good punk who likes to fight. then he dies saving a young girl from a car crash. this act of kindness makes it impossible to send him to hell, so he's hired as a supernatural detective, or a detective for the dead, an exchange for the underworld letting him live.

then the story goes from there. they have a lot of tournaments, tournaments which usually end up having teams or something....... i would tell you more but i don't wanna spoil it.....

i've been meaning to wacth/read more manga/anime myself. i'm currently re-reading rurouni kenshi, then imma move on to shaman king. (my school library has like a whole stash of anime books.) pretty beast cool

but i also wanna get into soul eater and d gray man. apparently, those are pretty good confused

i detest rave master with a passion. inuyasha is the same......though i might give it the benefit of a doubt and start reading it. but, from what i've seen, inuyasha can go suck a nut....

and it isn't that is made him unable to go to hell, it was the fact he actually saved the child ( Although later you find out the child would have been less injured if he hadn't ) threw them all for a loop ( Bouton's exact words )

Yusuke has to hatch a golden egg in which a spirit beast resides, which is eithr able to return him to his body, or rip his soul into tiny peices. ( "not a very pleasurable experience as you might think. " exerpt from Yanma Jr. )

He throws it into a fire however to save the girl ( the ONLY Character whose name escapes me. ) and when he reports back to King Yanma Jr. he congratulates yusuke because the spirit beast was feeding off of his constant negative emotions and became evil ( " And would have bit your head off. " )

Jr. gives him a second way to return to his living body which can only happen once every fifty two years. He charges Yusuke's body with Spirit energy and at midnight his body would be fully charged and glowing bright golden. Someone has to kiss him and give up some of their life energy to jump start his body, drawing his soul into it. Short to say, in the previews it shows his Rival Kuwabara kissing him ( Another male ) and in the actual episode Kuwabara refferences a bad dream. ( How yusuke has to tell people to kiss him at midnight )

You can probably guess what happens, but yeah she runs in, just in time and he gets revived.

And that is the beginning story arc.
