((Don't worry about it ^^))

Alexz held the girl carefully, careful not to injure her fragile body. She looked down at the girl and quickly decided that she would save her from the world of the immortals. It was a dangerous time for newborn vampires to be in existence in the city, and she in no way wanted to create a new creature for it to be destroyed.

"Farewell." she spoke into his mind before disappearing.

((Exit to some hospital, where she disguises herself with an illusion, hands in the girl, and makes her escape XD
A bit lazy at the moment x3))

Elyan found himself strolling down the sidewalk once again. He had already gone miles away from where he encountered the girl and the rapist. It wouldn't be long before someone discovered his corpse, but at least they wouldn't be able to track his death.

Still, he had other obligations at the moment. He needed to find a place to live. But, he had to make sure it was populated with humans. It would be much easier to blend in that way.

"But, it seems vampires have strong ties within this city..." he thought to himself. Of course, that didn't include any other race. This city was a new test, a new playground with plenty of bullies waiting to push him to the ground.

Elyan kept moving, his head continuing to process mental data over and over again.

[[Ah well. Laziness is good in small doses, I believe. Feel free to interact whenever you'd like.

But for now, I'm off to sleep. Good night, all!]]

Meredith had since left the company of the jamming lycan since he really hadn't proved to be company at all. Instead, she'd decided to resume her hunter duties and search for a vampire that fit the description of the one who had terrorized the guards in the mall. She knew full well that she would probably never find him, after all, New York was a huge place and she wasn't very accustomed to this new body and baggage of hers at all.

As she was making her way along, though, she managed to come across a typical dark alleyway scene where a girl had been caught alone in an alley and a vampire had already had his way with her. Naturally, being a hunter, Eden was suspicious of the vampire and watched him ever carefully but she chose not to react seeing as there had been two vampires there to overpower her. Not to mention if she stepped in that it would just cause unnecessary tension and a possible hostage situation she didn't want to deal with.

Instead, Edith took a perch and simply watched and listened to the two vampires converse from afar. Of course, she recognized Alexz from all the advertizing and wanted signs but it was funny how before that she wouldn't have known who the elder was if she passed her on the street. Now, though, she was all too aware of who the woman was and it pained Meredith to allow the elder out of her sight with a half drained teenager with her entire life ahead of her.

She decided to move along with the other vampire, the one who had seemed much more sympathetic despite the fact that she could smell the girl's blood on him. The huntress followed along nimbly, deciding to keep an eye on this vampire when a few of his thoughts just seemed to leak and hit her out of no where.

The huntress was caught off guard by the insignificant mental barrage but the fact that she was hearing anything at all was what'd caught her off guard. She shook her head and decided to pinch herself to make sure she wasn't dosing off and imagining that she'd regained her former 'super power' from when she'd gone through other stages. However, once she tried to listen to his thoughts she ended up empty-handed with absolutely nothing.

The thoughts he'd had from before, though, were fresh and clear in her mind and upon this she decided to address him. She jumped down from a one storey building and landed neatly in front of him. Nimbleness not being something she was accustomed to but nevertheless she went with it. "Bullies, huh? So that's all hunters and other races are to you, are they?"

Elyan's eyes shifted, facing the woman who had leaped in-front of him so suddenly. Just judging by her little 'stunt', he knew she wasn't some average human. Her aura further solidified his theory.

"As if my day couldn't get anymore troublesome..." he grunted. "Although, don't you think your entrance was rather inappropriate? After all, you narrowly missed the glace of an innocent bystander."

Even if he had caught the attention of another supernatural being, he didn't want to risk any other mortals getting in the way. He continued to walk further, motioning with a nod for her to follow.

"She'd be wise to follow, as I'm sure she realizes how big of a risk a confrontation could be," he thought. But, he was surprised she picked up on his thoughts. She even went as far as to reply to what he was thinking, something he hadn't dealt with in such a long time. He detoured into a rather long alley. There sat a few homeless individuals who didn't care for his arrival into their territory.

"MOVE!" he mentally commanded. With that, they scrambled to their feet and ran. His was convenient at times such as this. He turned and waited for the woman.

"Will she choose to follow me?" he pondered.

Meredith merely smiled upon hearing that she was making his day more troublesome and at the fact that he seemed to be rather pessimistic. She'd maybe been an optimist at one time but that'd been before she'd moved here to New York and before her brother had up and disappeared only to end up being the leader of the New York Hunters. Now here she was in his stead as well as her other brother's stead just trying to get by with the knowledge and experience she'd accumulated.

"Are you certain you don't want to retract that statement? After all, I could be a lot more troublesome than following you out of boredom and potential suspicion. Just a thought, though, I hope you don't see that as some sort of threat."

Upon hearing about her little stunt being inappropriate she nodded with yet another smile. "Yeah," she said as she combed her fingers through her hair, "but I've always wanted to do that after watching so many others do it and the coppers have to put up with me anyhow so there's nothing they can do about it. As for innocent bystanders, well, we could convince them they're tripping balls somehow but I don't think it'd be the end of the world if someone saw me now since the secret's kind of out."

She decided to follow him, after all, there wasn't anything else that was better to do. Potentially she could have been out hunting but she really wasn't in the mood to do so. The scene she'd just come back from really hadn't given her much of an appetite for being near potential blood shed for a while. Her nose was a little sensitive to its more concentrated ability and it made her stomach a little queasy.

"So what's," Meredith asked as she looked around and witnessed the men fleeing, "with the alley? It doesn't seem like it'd be the most comfortable place to hang out or whatever it is you're doing. There are such things as restaurants and establishments that you could go to. Or are you the anti-social type?"

"This alley will do fine, for now," he calmly replied, "but first, we need to get a few things... straightened out." Lucky for Elyan, she seemed to be a rather reasonable individual. But, it was obvious that she could be touchy if he said the wrong thing.

"First," he began, rather sternly, "how were you able to pick up on my thoughts?" This worried him the most. Was he unintentionally projecting his thoughts? After all, he was warned that the vampiric blood-line which he became a part of carried with it a strange gift for power. Yet, as he got older, there were bound to be... problems.

He knew the look on his face was filled with slight panic, maybe even a bit of fright. For all he knew, it could be nothing. Yet, he remained scared.

Sy Tarn

PostPosted: Fri Jul 17, 2009 6:32 am

Sy wounders the streets, walks around like he's got a purpose, even though Sy has no set intentions on going anywhere in particular he does more of observing the city and its surroundings. Noticing all the vampires, immortals, other tainted like himself, the lycans, and hunters....Sy being by himself at the moment wasn't too worried about being in any immediate danger.....Sy simply minded his own business for now trying to find something to do

Upon hearing that they needed to get a few things straightened out, Meredith raised her eyebrow somewhat suspiciously at this new character. He seemed decent enough, after all, he had decided not to kill that girl and he seemed to actually feel bad about it. Not to mention he had yet to say anything that was degrading to her in regards to her being a hunter or her being a lycan so she was willing to give him an ear and hear what he had to say or ask, whichever.

"I honestly don't know ... It just kind of happened. When I was a human there was a vampire I knew and they were messing around with test subjects and kind of injected certain targets in order to observe their progress and I happened to be one of them. After being injected I was able to scope people's minds a little but it faded away after the serum ran out. I guess they were there all along or something and they're awakening again now that I'm no longer human." She shrugged, not fully sure what the hell was going on.

She scrutinized him for a moment, wondering why he seemed so panicked over something that was so miniscule. "Look, I can't even control it so I honestly didn't mean to read on anything. You don't need to worry about me invading your thoughts and seeing your deepest darkest secrets or whatever it is that's bothering you. Just chill."

"I see," Elyan coldly replied. He closed his eyes, taking a moment to think.

"So, that's one possible explanation... but I shouldn't take this as being the only reason. Her warning, of all the times it could happen, now would be the time."

He returned his attention back towards the woman before him. Judging by the way she had responded, it was rather obvious that she was telling the truth. Elyan had a knack for noticing when someone was telling a lie, but she seemed to pass his inspection with flying colors.

He shifted his stance to a more relaxed one, not feeling quite as threatened as before.

"I mean no harm by you," he began, "I just... don't like getting unwanted attention. I'm here for a certain rea..." He was cut off. His throat was on fire, again.

"See what happens when you go against your own nature?" a voice echoed within his head. "You're such a fool. Try as you like, vampires are destined to hunt humans."

"Shut up..." Elyan replied, out loud instead of within his head. This wasn't the first time this had happened. In-fact, it wasn't uncommon for a vampire to experience such a thing. What he was experiencing was an over-active vampiric instinct which happened to manifest itself into an internal being.

Even the girl before him, her veins were visible from his point of view. He stumbled forward a bit. His body was trying its hardest to move forward, to attack something... someone. But, his mind was trying its hardest to prevent that from happening.

It was pretty clear to Eden that this guy was contemplating her words pretty meticulously and that he probably had some trust issues going for him but she didn't comment on anything. She had no reason to lie to him and she was an honest person who rarely lied as it was. Even when she did lie she was damned horrible at it because her conscience would never let her get away with something like that. Even with strangers she would feel bad for lying so for the most part she just tried to avoid lying or if she didn't want to answer something she would say she didn't want to answer it.

"Yeah, I kind of figured you didn't mean any harm otherwise you probably would have gone ape s**t on me already and I would have had to shoot you in the face or something." She listened as he went on to explain that there was a reason for his being here until his expression changed and seemed rather strained. Her instincts picked up on the slight change within him and her own other half could sense the vampire and automatically growled in response.

Meredith looked confused when he told her to shut up until she considered it and thought about what her other half had been growling at. She knew a look of blood lust and thirst and his look could definitely qualify for one. In turn, she decided that she'd try to play things cool and try not to alarm the less benevolent half of this vampire.

When he began walking toward her with the strange look in his eye she knew what was up and she took a step backwards while putting her hands up in the air. "Hey, hey. I'm not here to fight and I really don't want to because you seem like a nice dude but if you keep coming at me with that look it's gonna creep me out and I'm going to have to do something. I'm not very tasty blood-wise anymore anyhow so you should ******** chill before I have to put a bullet through you."

Elyan had dropped to his knees by this point. He was exhausted, even going as far as taking unneeded breaths, a reaction left over from his human days. Tears comprised of blood ran down his face. For vampires, whose body is only filled with blood, can only excrete that same substance when they cry or even sweat. It just happens to be rather messy, probably why vampires try not to cry. His right hand clenched to his chest.

"Forgive... forgive my behavior," he said, straining. You could hear the agitation in his voice. His crimson eyes were glowing with blood lust. Yet, he had managed to retain some control.

[[Short post. Trying to think of a good way to write out a specific scene.]]
PostPosted: Fri Jul 17, 2009 2:24 pm

Meredith didn't understand where the crying was coming from but she'd seen tears of blood before and therefore wasn't overly alarmed by it. She was a hunter who had been in this city for four years, there weren't a lot of things she hadn't seen and this was mild compared to many she had. To say she was a hardened veteran might be going a bit far but she'd certainly been exposed to things that helped her to deal with other things in a calmer, more composed, manner.

"It's fine, don't apologize. You're just going through a withdrawl and being what you are. That's understandable, you need blood. I'd offer up but I'm not a human anymore so that wouldn't work out very well. I have some blood packets here, though, lucky for you. V almost drained me once so I decided to carry them just in case ..."

She seemed to mellow out upon mentioning the name 'V' and instead of further discussing it she brought her backpack off her back and began digging into it. Eden managed to drag out two packets of blood and tossed them to the struggling vampire. "They aren't nearly as good as fresh blood but it qwells the thirst all the same and gets rid of the burning. It's better than having to violate someone and take their blood from them."

In one fluid motion, Elyan snatched the packets and ripped them open with this sharp teeth. It didn't take long for him to down the red substance, while getting his white shirt soaked in the process. He was like a beast, following his instincts like a ravaged animal that had gone without food for days.

He was a vampire. He knew all too well that he relied upon human blood in order to function. He was over six-hundred years old, yet he still acted like a newly-turned vampire who was still coping with his change. Ellie was the same, never taking a life while feeding. The only time she had killed was the night he was turned... but even then, she was going through the same thing he was right now.

Elyan knew this would only hold him over for a little while. Perhaps not more than an hour or two, judging by the rate which his blood lust was acting. Still, it offered him plenty of time to deal with it properly.

He crushed the remains of the packets with his right hand, pressing his left hand against the nearby wall in order to help him stand upright. His eyes didn't glow anymore and the burning sensation from within his throat had subsided.

"I appreciate your kindness," he said, still weak. "This is the last kind of act I would have expected from a huntress such as yourself, Miss...?" he continued, awaiting to properly address her by her name. Although he was a vampire, as one could already tell, he stuck strong by his morals. Again, he had Ellie to thank for that. It was one of the reasons he was looking for her, the sole reason he was in New York and right now, his sole reason for existing.

[[Yay for dramatic stuff!]]

Ed had slipped away from the fight in Central Park. His face was still scratched up pretty bad though. He sat on a rooftop over looking the city. The view made it hurt a little less. He grunted in pain as he blinked.

Seeing as she'd been a hunter for years the reflexes and fluid movements of the vampire didn't come close to aweing her though it was always nice to see an act of inhuman grace performed once in a while. However, she'd seen such a thing so many times that it'd lost it's amazing factor and simply happened as anything else did, it was about as exciting as a human catching a frisbee or a dog a ball. As for being soaked in blood, seeing as it was preserved blood and not fresh, the smell didn't make her want to gag so she was actually perfectly content with the scene. It was better than watching an actual person be ripped up in front of her.

Eden, from watching this vampire, definitely didn't get the vibe that he was over six hundred years old and just naturally assumed that he was a newly turned vampire. She was accustomed to newb vampires not really knowing the ropes and waiting a little too long to feed only to realize that not feeding regularly probably made things that much worse. Thirsty vampires certainly were not a pretty sight to behold, especially when they caught sight of prey.

The huntress solemnly observed as the vampire's blood lust slowly began to dissipate for the time being and breathed a silent sigh of relief. After all, she really didn't feel like shooting or hacking a vampire she thought seemed decent to pieces if it was avoidable. He had been pretty lucky that she carried the blood packets around with her and now that it seemed to have worked pretty well she was considering carrying a few on her person at all times just in case something such as this ever happened again.

"It's not really kindness on my part, more just convenience and preventing a person from being harmed. And just because I hunt your kind doesn't mean that I shoot with a blind eye. I try to get my facts straight and I shoot with a reason or else I don't at all. Despite the views of many hunters, you guys are all people too and unless you're doing something in the wrong all of you are to be treated with the respect and decency they'd give to anyone else." She nodded firmly, clearly adamant that what she said went. Seeing as she was the stand-in leader of the hunters for now, they were to be doing as she said and she demanded that they remember to be half decent.

"If you've been in New York you'll recognize the name more likely than not but I'm Eden Jackson. I'm Will Jackson's little sister. Will's the leader of the hunters but he's not here at the moment so I'm his stand-in. My other brother, Krii'Ouse also isn't here since he's the second in command so I'm kind of standing in for both of them at the moment. And you would be?"
