Quite literally, the second line, for all you people who dont know how to pay attention, he meant anyone's main character could be killed. Most people have a major character, and then supporting characters, so I'm pretty sure thats what he means.

But hey, dont let me ruin your false sense of security. Just keep going aroud thinking you're safe from harm with no care in the world, it makes things easier.
