Thus, you would be more skilled in body based techniques than most. Less reliance on techniques was a crack at people who run around tossing jutsu everywhere instead of getting into the fray. There are some very very sad applications out there today. I almost want to just save the poor crew members time and deny them myself.

I'd say it's quite fair, and highly logical. Sadly I'm not the one you have to convince. Maybe I should try and get accepted as a crew member... I don't think tai uses chakra, after all, it's just a matter of moving your body around. Some of the techs probably do, but that would just be the really fancy ones.
