Chiasa was getting more and more panicked as his body seemed fine, but she couldn't seem to wake him. she closed her eyes and bit her lower lip. She thought maybe the magic had exhausted him, so she tried to give him more and more energy.

Nikoli feels a shock of energy riping through the air. He whirls around to look at the house. "This isn't good. Aislin, take cover! I'm going in to get them out of there!"
He wasn't sure what was happening, or why he seemed to care so much. All he knew was if he was right as to what was going on, everyone needed to get out of there, and fast.
He dashes into the house. "Barick, Gab, everyone, outside, NOW! No time!"

The crystallis permanently implanted in Core's chest started lighting up when she gave him magic. It wasn't going to Core at all. Even all of his mana was going to the crystallis.

Nikoli races upstairs. "Chiasa, we have to GET OUT OF HERE!"
He grabs her arm, and glances back at Core. "You crazy b*****d, you'll kill us all!"
Nikoli draws his hand crossbow. Sure, shooting an arrow forged on the banks of the Styx at a vessel carrying practically pure holy energy probably was a useless gesture, but one had to try...
Nikoli fires, not caring to watch the result, and tries to pull Chiasa out of the room with him.
"This is pointless, Chiasa! He's lost control!"

"Core... where are you!" Chiasa cried as she held him tighter. Tears were running down her cheeks. "Come back!" The bond was still intact, so she knew he wasn't dead, but she didn't know what was happening, even as her energy continued to funnel into his body. She tried to reach out to him with her magic, through their bond.

Core slumped to the floor lifeless when Nikoli jostled Chiasa. The evil energy that was shot at him vanished; taken in by his crystallis which was shining even brighter now. It was taking in all magic energy that was being offered.

Chiasa tried to get to Core, out of Nikoli's hold. "I have to help him!" she cried. her struggles became progressively weaker. The current of energy in their bond had shifted so she couldn't help but keep feeding him energy.

Nikoli turns back when he hears Core slump to the ground.
"No, no, no, no..." He lets go of Chiasa's arm and bolts back into the room, avoiding the Crystallis. He takes Core's pulse.
"You have to get out of here, Chiasa..." He says, solemnly. He closes Core's eyes and slings the body over his shoulders, heading for the door.

The pain signals that were supposed to be coming to Core went to Nikoli instead the moment he was picked up. A tear slipped from his face.

"No! Bring him back!" Chiasa screamed as she scrambled to her feet and ran after him. "He's my master! Bring him back!"

Archangel486 Nikoli takes a breath. "I don't work for Satan or God either. I work for Hades, who makes sure everyone goes to their proper place. You may be more right than you know." He turns around, and a laughing fit overtakes him for a second. "Heheh... so that's it, then, is it? Not going to try and convince me to stay?" Nikoli laughs again, a little. "Try not to die, okay? I'd like to bump into you again someday." Aislin gave him a little grin, "Why should I try to talk you out of leaving, when you're as stubborn as I am. admittedly, I'd rather have you, then any one else, watching my back, But I'm not going to fight you to stay. If I did then you might not want to watch my back, meaning you wouldn't work at your best." She shrugged a shoulder, looking away again. "I would like you to stay. But, since you're going anyway... My suggestion to you, is not to do anything too stupid. I know that's hard in our line of work, but do try."

Nikoli starts carrying him outside, but the pain is almost unbearable.
"JESUS CHR- GRRRAAAHHH!" Nikoli almost collapses under Core's body.
"LET'S GO, CHIASA! OUTSIDE!"
Nikoli barely manages to get Core clear of the house, out to the street. He lays down Core's body, and checks the pulse again to make sure he's dead.
"Alright, God Dammit..." He mutters to himself. He stands up and turns to Aislin.
"Aislin... Listen to me. I need you to say my name. Gather up as much strength as you can, and say it."

Core's eyes opened, but there was no life. His eyes were bright orange and the same aura surrounded him.

Chiasa ran over to where Nikoli had put down Core. She lifted him up, again. She was getting low on energy and Core was there to help balance out their bond. Not to mention how her instincts were going crazy. She couldn't let him near these people! They were trying to do something horrible to him!
Unable to think of anything else, she began to run with him.

Nikoli tears after Ciasa. Loaded down as she was with Core's weight, Nikoli was much faster, and tackles her to the ground.
"Pull yourself together, dammit! This- isn't- HELPING!"
He glances back.
"Aislin! The name!"
