Suddenly, 10 days later, life returns to the once-living (now decayed) flesh of Crono's thread. It has no pulse, no breath, no cognitive thought. It has only one thing.

The zombie thread shuffled over to Arbonite as he dug in his pockets for his reciept and took a healthy (for the thread. Chunks don't bide well for the living) out of his neck, thus converting him into one of the undead.
