I just checked the Kakashi vs. Pein chapter, to the Hatake Kakashi chapter. Pein threw the screw at Kakashi, but he didn't die. (Even though it looked like a head shot. I mean seriously, how does someone survive that?) But it probably drastically weakens him, to the point where he can only use the mangekyo one more time. So he uses it one more time, to make the attack thing disappear. So it wouldn't hit Choji.
So, Von and random person I don't know are right. Congratulations.
