Veroen continued to think things over in his head, thinking up things to say to every possible insult she could throw at him. whenever she got up to get her drink, he moved his eyes from the wall, not moving his head, but stared at her through his peripherals as she walked to pick up her drink. Something was different...something was different in the way he was looking at her. He quickly realized that he was actually checking her out, caught himself, and quickly turned his eyes forward, somewhat embarrased that he was doing so. This was not noticeable, however, since he was wearing shades, and he had not turned his head.
Once she took a seat back beside him, he quickly prepared himself for a barrage of insults or angry statements. He silently kept the same position about him, looking straight ahead, sipping on his frappucino.
He was raising the cup to his lips to take another sip, when he heard her say, 'thanks'. He stopped, his drink frozen in his hands halfway off the counter and halfway to his mouth. He did this out of surprise.
He then cocked an eyesbrow, slightly turning his head in her direction, and smoothly said, "You're welcome, Edith." His eyebrow lowered, now a blank expression coming onto his face.
She was being nice? To him? Veroen pondered why, but then was glad that she was. He lowered his drink, and turned his body towards her.
"I'm sorry Edith. I had no idea that would happen. I know i hurt you, I saw it in your eyes.... I'm so sorry..." Veroen said, a concerned look now on his face. He now felt even worse, now realizing that he had hurt her physically and emotionally, all in one night. He quickly looked away, regret now filling his eyes, though it was not visible through his shades

Lily followed Veroen in a rather nice car that she had stolen. She mastered the art with age. Techno blared from the speakers and she came to a screeching halt at the entrance as the fire trucks flew past her to save the apartment that she had used to share with Veroen.
She stumbled onto the path with a whiskey bottle in her hand with the intention of taking her pain out on any unsuspecting human.

Eden failed to notice Veroen checking her out, especially since she was pretty out of it and she was having her quote unquote, night off. She also didn't notice his shock when she decided to say thanks to him instead of freaking out at him but she really wasn't sure what to do. He'd bought her a drink so she supposed it was only fair to say thanks but if he thought a drink was going to fix everything then he was pretty damned delusional. Just because he bought her a drink and said he was here to fix some mistakes didn't mean jack s**t. Anyone could say that and pay for a drink, she would believe it when she saw it.
Probably not two minutes later, Veroen came out with his apology and though she'd been expecting some pathetic attempt to make her feel better he actually sounded like he felt bad and that he was really sorry. The look on his face also said that he was feeling guilty and he even seemed to be concerned but she was certain Vereon could be a good actor if he put himself up to it. However, when he finally looked away from her and clearly felt bad, the kind spirit in Meredith completely forgot her contempt and she instantly wanted him to feel better. Whether it was a curse or a virtue she was who she was and she didn't have a mean bone in her body.
"Yeah ... I guess you kind of did ..."
It certainly wasn't like Meredith to admit to being weak to anyone but especially to a person that wasn't even a fellow hunter or even someone she'd known for a while. She didn't talk about her problems because she avoided them and didn't bother to mention them. For him to see through her like that and bring it up and for her to admit to something like this, it just didn't happen.
However, her attention turned to some car that was outside and blaring with techno music and she quickly recalled the female vampire and controversy broke out. Had Veroen just f**king lied to her through his teeth?! She wasn't sure and instead of freaking out and accusing him she decided to try and keep her calm and make sure that she got the facts before she lost it. Of course, she wasn't really looking forward to this either way and she didn't really have much faith that Veroen hadn't just lied to her and played her.
"What's she doing here?" She exhaled rather loudly and clearly became stressed, clearly she was close to a breaking point and she began grasping her hair and gently tugging. "Please don't tell me that everything you just said to me was some lie ..."

Veroen was listening to Edith's words when he too, noticed Lily who had just pulled up in her car, with blaring fire trucks heading in the opposite direction. He turned his head toward lily's drunken figure outside, quickly guessing what had just happened.
He slowly set down his drink, and buried his face in his hands. 'No not this...not now..' he thought to himself, quickly being overcome by stress.
He then quickly looked at Edith, and replied to her. 'No, none of that was a lie. i left her at the apartment, to come find you and apologize. And judging by the fire trucks, she burned down my apartment in retaliation..." veroen said, his voice now overcome by stress. 'Damnit...' he thought to himself.
He looked outside at Lily, wishing this wasn't happening...
He sat there, not knowing what to do about this. it was clear to him that his feelings for Lily had died long ago. He sighed loudly and groaned.
"i'll be right back..." he said reluctantly, slightly angered that his apartment was most likely now a pile of ash, and that Lily had come here, just when he was apologizing to Edith.
He then got up lazily, not wanting to confront the angry Vampire outside.
He looked back at Edith, and spoke one more time. "I meant every word of it, I promise." Veroen finished his statement with a slight smile, trying to reassure edith that he was telling the truth.
he then turned, and reluctantly exited the door, and walked up to Lily, with an expressionless stare on his face, hidden underneath his rectangular black slim sunglasses.
"What the hell did you do?" Veroen said with a hint of anger in his voice, to the drunken Lily.

Lily smiled at him for a moment before bashing him in the side of the head with the whiskey bottle, causing it to shatter.
"I waited for you! I looked for you and this is what I get? Hi honey! Sorry but you're out the door? F*** you!" she screamed at him, not giving any care as to the woman that he obviously was in love with.
How dare he?! She opened up to him, which she never did with anyone. She trusted him, she was beginning to love him, and just like she knew it would...it ended badly. She knew in that moment that this city was a war zone that she had to battle her way through. She wasn't good enough for the coven, she wasn't good enough to be useful, she hadn't heard from Alasdair at all, and now Veroen had no need for her.

Meredith didn't want Veroen to go outside, especially if the girl was violent and spiteful enough to raze his apartment to the ground. For some reason she was getting a really bad feeling about this and to keep him away from the crazed woman seemed to be the best course of action to take. Clearly she was out to cause him pain now and she probably still loved him as well but Eden didn't know what to do. Was she to sit there and watch as Veroen took her s**t, go outside and back him up, take a seat by the window just to be closer in case something happened?
Just as Meredith was debating on what to do she heard and saw Lily smash her bottle over Veroen's head and that ignited anger in the huntress and within a few seconds she was outside. "Calm the f**k down and don't you f**king pull that again or I'll f**ggin' shoot you right here, right now, no questions asked!"
It had never been in Eden's nature to sit back and watch someone be pushed around and say nothing about it. She definitely spoke her mind and right now she was speaking her mind to the stupid, violent girl that was just making herself look worse and worse by the moment. She had her hand over her gun holster, having left her tea inside in order to come outside and assure that Veroen had someone to back him up, not that he needed her help.

Lily looked at the girl curiously. Was she honestly making threats? She was sure Veroen was enjoying every minute of watching her act the way she was but the bottom line was that she needed to know and she needed to get out. If he didn't love her than she would go back to square one, either in New York or take herself somewhere else.
"Do you honestly want to start s*** with me, b***h?" she growled "Shoot me, I have a high threshold for pain, it won't stop me from ripping your hair out"

The only part of Veroen that moved when Lily smashed the bottle on the side of his face was his head, which was forced to tilt to the side and turn a bit, because she was a vampire too, and was much stronger than your average human. The blow from the bottle left cuts on the side of his face, shards of the glass dug inside his right eye, and it knocked off his glasses reavealing this. His other eye was now full of pain and anger.
He moved his head back to a straight position, and raised his hand to his eye, which was now bleeding. he was an assassin, and pain was not new to him, and he was extremely resiant to it. He then looked at his hand with his only good eye, and looked at the blood. His face twisted into that of anger.
He had forgotten that a Vampire could easily do more damage with anything at hand, much more than any mortal. Because of this, he was now one eye less than he was before.
he looked at her slowly, glaring at her.
"My eye..." he said trailing off.
He then lost his self control.
"YOU are the one who FU**ING LEFT! WHAT THE HELL WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO?! YOU JUST COST ME A FU**ING EYE YOU BIT**!" Veroen shouted at her, his fists now balled up, with the right side of his face covered in blood.

Lily starting crying and tried to get words out. Taking his eye out was not in her plan but happened anyway, as usual nothing worked out in her favor.
"You left! You went to where ever the f*** and what was I supposed to do? Twiddle my thumbs and wait for you?! I didn't look for another man and here you are with another woman! So don't try to pin this on me you piece of s***! I WAS faithful! You weren't, you deserve everything you get for f***ing me over like this!"

Veroen was starting to lose all self control. he looked back at Edith, who was now infuriated. Veroen then heard everything Lily said, and for a moment he stopped caring about any rules or regulations. He turned around to the building that was neighboring Starbucks. He then threw his fist into the side of it with full force, cause the entire wall on that side of the two story building to collapse, exposing the building to be completely abandoned.
He stood there his fists clenched, as well as his teeth, turned toward the rubble, his breathing became hard and elevated. This action cause all the humans around them to spread out away from the three, all scared and silent. Veroen's eye turned black, he was definitely losing it.

Rage tore through Edith at the state the vampire b**ch left Veroen in, unable to believe what she had done to him. She couldn't believe how out of hand and nasty she'd turned out to be even though she hadn't met this vampire before. She literally growled though it was quite human since she wasn't capable of growling like a vampire or lycan. However, she was certainly prepared to start s**t with Lily even though she certainly had a physical disadvantage against her.
"A high threshold for pain won't save you when you're pumped full of UV rounds now will it?! I'll watch you incinerate from the inside to the outside and I can do it in no time flat!"
However, she backed off when the vampire began crying though she didn't forget her cruelty. It was sad but true. This could have been exactly what Meredith had turned into had she not been someone's test subject and had she not been so hurt and shocked that Tokeru had wanted to kill her that she'd simply forgotten most of the events that played out after he'd began trying to kill her without warning.
She piped up again, though when she tried to make Veroen feel guilty.
"He didn't f**king do anything wrong! He had a lapse and ended up trying to suck me dry so he brought me over to his place to try and make sure I was alright, you b**ch."

Tears streamed down her cheeks and the words of the woman next to her didn't even matter to her anymore. Evidently she wasn't good for too much of anything in this city.
"Give me my pendant," she said between sobs "if you don't want me, then I'm gone"
Lily turned to the woman and made a small smile, trying to make some sort of an apology for her drunken behavior
"He doesn't love me anymore, I can see it in his eyes."

Veroen heard everything, and for a minute regained control of himself. He looked around with difficulty, at the crowd of people that were whispering and watching the three. He heard Lily's request, and thrust his hand into his jacket, and pulled out the pendant that Lily had given him over a year ago, shortly before Veroen had ben imprisoned. Without turning his body, he tossed it behind him, and it landed with a click at Lily's feet. Without showing his face to either of them, he stood there for a moment. He then disapeared into a cloud of shadow, reappearing on top of the half of the building that was still standing, and then jumped from rooftop to rooftop, exiting the area.

Lily took the pendant and nodded at the woman before crying her way back to the car. She pulled off easily enough down the street and then hit high speed. A car came at her on the left as she tried to make a right turn. In an attempt to make it without a collision the car flipped several times before coming to rest in the street.
The car was now resting on its roof and Lily was strewn across the ceiling above the seats. Shards were lodged in her skin everywhere but a prominent one was stuck in her chest quite deep. She struggled to stay conscious, she wasn't about to make herself look like anymore of an idiot than she already had.

Edith really didn't know what to say in response to the vampire saying that she could tell that Veroen didn't love her anymore. Those words coming from her were the biggest blow she probably could have dealt to Meredith and the huntress instantly felt it was her fault this was happening. It was okay for her to be miserable but did she have to spread it to everyone she cared for or befriended? Now she'd gone and ruined Veroen's relationship with this vampire that he clearly had loved before she'd even met him. Had she caused him to stop loving her and he cared for her now instead? Had that been why he'd been so protective in the subway? Who knew?
When Eden came to she realized that Veroen had destroyed a building and that he'd now disappeared from the scene entirely. She didn't know what to do now, whether she was supposed to follow after him and make sure he was alright or if she should try to somehow just butt out and let them work things out. As much as she hated that she'd probably been what'd come between Veroen and Lily, she knew that she had feelings for him as well. However, she wasn't going to complicate things further and she no longer had the courage to speak her mind or to admit that she was in love.
Never again ...
Those words echoed inside her mind as she began to wallow in doubt again, alone again, lost again. As opposed to following, Eden's knees buckled and she fell to the ground; at the same time her mind had buckled as well. She simply stared at the ground, numb to the harsh contact to her knees. The car leaving never registered in her mind and neither did the screeching of tires as Lily flipped her car a few blocks away.
Again Meredith came to and she noticed the car was gone and when she looked around, confused as to where Lily had disappeared to her hazel eyes came to rest on the flipped car a few blocks down. She knew it was Lily's car, not because she remembered the vampire's car but she just instinctively knew.
The huntress rose and she quickly began making her way toward the car, beginning to worry that something bad had happened since she'd gotten that gut feeling again. She began sprinting though she was mightily tired and made it to the car to find Lily inside, upside down, hanging from the seat belt. "Oh s**t. Hey, are you alright?"
