The thousand-year-old vampire trapped inside the youth-filled mirror image of himself the night he'd died walked the streets until something caught his attention; a young woman with dark thoughts crying. So young for such sadness, the world was becoming a darkened canvas without his assistance.
A smile crept into the youthful boy's features as he serenely approached the scene, intrigued. How he loved misery, loved watching others fall into states of insanity as their lives spiraled out of control before their eyes as they were thrust into the real world where the truth hurt significantly more than the lies.
Aiden decided to alleviate this girl's pain. The truth was too much for her to handle so of course he would naturally initiate the lies. False promises wouldn't be kept, false comforts would be given, false hope.
The devoid, heartless monster gently seeped through the cold like a knife through water. His eyes colder than the winter itself and his heart blacker than the deepest depths of the void. Lackluster was this being personified and yet the being had been given the form of that of an angel when he was the most legitimate of monsters in this city.
"Why dost a dove grieve in solace? One so pure should not possess such sadness."
The vampire gracefully sat beside her, moving smoother than a liquid substance moving down its set course. He was lithe and beautiful, perfection in the eyes of God's children and a horrible demon in the eyes of God himself. Edith's eyes he would be no acception as the sole angel left out there in the world would become her guardian and safeguard her from those that harmed her. He would be her friend, her protector and he would be the one in which she could truly believe. At least, for now.

Half an hour passed before a soul stirred from the unremarkable building. The assassin, using his unreal patience and calm, remained lying against the cold concrete. His unflinching sight aimed at the building. Soon enough, his patience paid off. A large two winged black door opened. Five men walked through the door, silently making their way down a small flight of stone steps. The men were all wearing average black suits, white shirts and cheap haircuts.
The assassin moved his cross hairs between the heads of every human. He waited until the door was closed and the men began to move in the sidewalk. Aiden waited, took his aim and took a deep breath. The finger gently squeezed the trigger. He fired once, and since the bullet was so ridiculously large, the bullet pierced the cold air and flew to the head of one man.
The first bullet instantly flew through the ear of the first human, the bullet pierced the man's brain and out the other ear. The bullet had enough torque to keep going and shot the human next to him on the head. Aiden remained with a blank expression on his face as he fired two more rounds. The next bullet went right through the chest of the next man, and the last pierced the throat of the next man, and buried into the heart of the last man.
All the shooting happened within four seconds, since the rifle was semiautomatic and could fire all its rounds in less than ten seconds. The best thing about it was that the rifle fired almost silently, only the soft escape of gas could be heard. And only the recoil was the price to pay.
When his human contracts were finished, the man quickly pulled back the rifle and rolled over. With his back against the concrete, he quickly closed the lens lids and detached the removable bipod. He hid the bipod in the pocket inside his coat, then he attached the removable carry handle.
Aiden then sat up and pushed himself towards the other end of the rooftop. The lycan stood up and began to make his way away from the federal building. He leaped down the rooftop and landed on a significantly smaller neighboring building. He continued to make his way through the rooftops, rifle in hand.

Prometheus chuckled as Wolf tensed up. "Don't worry, one of those people over there are a Lycan as well. I can smell him from here." He took a deep breath as the wind blew his robes around his legs. The three Katanas on his hip banged together in the breeze. His violet eyes fell towards the source as his nose came to a new scent, a human that smelled more of a Lycan. "Odd." He stated looking down at the being. Prometheus watched her with curiousity until he noticed her battle-axe and pistol. "I wonder if theyre still searching for me, the Hunters were all over my a** after I left the Haven." His eyes were glued to the Hunter, as his hand was glued to the hilt of one his Katanas.

"Screw off vampire ... I'm sick of getting f**ked over and you're no different than the last one. You just want my blood so f**k off or I'll put a bullet through your head. I don't need to hear your bulls**t lies and I don't need your pity or sympathy. Leave me alone or you'll get your a** handed to you because I don't have patience for being screwed with anymore ... Just - leave - me - alone."
She got up and began walking away. Her life was such bulls**t and she was amazed that she hadn't just up and given up yet but unfortunately her fire was still there keeping her going. She didn't need Reno, she didn't need Tokeru, she didn't need Veroen, she didn't need Lydia, she didn't need anyone ... She could tough this out on her own, kick some asses here and there, maybe go back to the street life since that life style had been a lot more fulfilling for her than this one was. In that life she hadn't been able to trust anyone for more than a few minutes to get her through a fight she needed backing up in and then after that she flew solo again.
As she walked her tears slowly began to run dry, her tear ducts sore and refusing to produce anymore salty liquid than they already had. Anger was beginning to replace the sadness, it was better to be angry and hate because those hurt far less than the lonliness and rejection. Veroen could do whatever the f**k he wanted but no way in hell was he getting anywhere near close enough to her to touch her, to bite her, to do anything to her but more importantly he was never getting anywhere near her heart again. She needed the last shreds of humanity she had, the last shreds of her will to go on and she would not let him take that from her.
Her steps became more prominent, more anger bent as she walked straight through the night alone as she was clearly destined to be. She could be one of those comic book vigilantes that didn't give a f**k about anything and just did whatever the hell she wanted. Of course, she'd probably stick around as a hunter since it was the only thing she was grasping onto to remember herself and keep herself from doing something horrible. Instead of doing something horrible, though, she decided to go visit the cathedral now that she wouldn't feel like she was violating the place with her presence.

It had taken 6months for Bridget to get her little network back up and running to the point she had pretty good intel.. coming back to her from the street. Meanwhile Bridget satisfied herself with little forays in the city.. honing her skills to their sharpest edge. She still would get angry that those government bastards had tried to strip her of her abilities and to some extent was somewhat successful reducing her strength and skeletal frame slightly so if they wanted anymore "super-soldiers" they would have to live with the fact they were there to stay.

Wolf shook his head. "In this madness, everyone forgets little searches. Everyone's looking for the big searches, the groups of lycans; not the one lycan. Of course, that also works for vampires and demons. Unfortunatly, we lycans havn't really done much. Unless..." Wolf thought a little bit more.

Veroen entered the city, his mind completely shutting off, reverting back to his old Assassin's composure. He stopped on top of a building, overlooking the city, searching, searching everyone down there with his eyes. He moved to the edge, and knelt down with a sigh. his eyes narrowed as he silently searched for the one he needed to find, the one he needed to fix things with.

Meredith had decided that since she wasn't allowed to have alcohol, a cigarette, a joint or some acid that she was going to go get some coffee. Starbucks was the one obsession she was still allowed to have and if not for Starbucks she probably would have been ripping her hair out in sections right now. However, she just made her way to the cafe and tried to seem casual as she did so. Her tears were long gone by now and she refused to show them again, especially since a fellow hunter had seen them and she cried in front of no one.
What the ******** was happening to her? She was falling apart at the seams and everything was just going horribly, horribly wrong. Eventually there had to be some good in it, right? A person can only fall so far before there's no way to go but up, right? She didn't know the answer to that question, however, she wasn't going to think about it too much because she wasn't about to get her hopes up yet again only to have her hopes diced into smaller pieces.

Veroen spotted Meredith entering the area, and wasted no time. He saw where she was heading for. Starbucks. 'Typical..' he thought to himself with a slight grin.
He tunred toward the left and with a push of his legs, he flew through the air, and into an elleyway beside the building he was on top of. He landed on the ground with a soft click, and instantly resumed his movement. He moved without limiting himself to human speed, flying past everyone so fast tht nobody spotted him, until he got to the alley way next to starbucks. he then quickly popped up his collar of his leather trench coat, hiding most of his face, and quickly, at human speed now, and quietly slipped into starbucks, and sat on a bar stool at the counter.
He then ordered his favorite. "A double chocolate chip frappucinno. Venti." he said, then added, "and whataver the girl with a giant axe wants, whenever she gets inside." he finished, motioning with his head to Meredith, who was approaching the store. He then handed the cashier a 20 bill, more than enough for the both of them to get something.
He silently sat there, and did not change his gaze away from the wall, waiting for Meredith to enter the store.

Prometheus let out a sigh of relief once the Hunter left. "I guess it is so, but the Lycans have done many things recently. The one you saw a few minutes ago was sniping people, some Lycan did something with that Hunter, and Razu took out a whole subway line to commit suicide..." He scowled as the Hunter returned. She was heading for a Starbucks, which was awkward. She looked more the type to go to a bar. Awkward.

Of course, Meredith was looking to get herself a coffee and nothing more because she needed to decided that she was taking the night off and her duty as a huntress was being put on hold. She needed some down time REALLY badly and apparently Starbucks was the way to go. Cravings had to be fulfilled, after all and while she actually wasn't going there for coffee, she did love their tea and frappucinos. However, since it was a cold evening she decided that she was going to order some tea as opposed to the whole frappucino deal just to be practical for once in her life. After all, she was gonna be a mom so she would have to start practicing being practical quite a friggin' bit.
Sure enough the 'lady with the battle axe' entered the store and walked up to the counter only to receive a smile from the cashier. They recognized her as a frequent customer and made sure to treat her nicely though they knew she was pretty easy-going and low maintenance. She went to adjust her violet aviators when she realized they weren't there and silently cussed.
"Can I get a venti London Fog, please?"
She reached into her pocket to pull out her wallet to set the money down on the counter, her gloved fingers quickly procuring a wallet.

Veroen was literally right next to Meredith whenever she sat down. he had already gotten his frappaccino, and was sipping on it whenever he noticed that she was pulling out money for her order.
"I aleady took care of it, Edith." Veroen said smoothly without looking at her. He was wearing slim recangluar sunglasses, to help hide the fact that he was a vampire from anyone who looked at him. He took another sip, waiting for her reaction to him being there.

Veroen's voice came as a surprise, near shock to Meredith when she realized he was sitting right there in Starbucks sipping a frappucino of all the things in the world. Her initial reaction was relief but then she recalled his little lady friend that'd shown up in his place and she instantly hardened. She wasn't going to open herself and let him hurt her.
Never again.
Those two words resounded inside her mind and her resolve became firm and her tone was cold when she addressed and responded to him. Her words to him were cold and meant to keep him away from her. She didn't want him to come near enough to her to hurt her again. Of course she hadn't let him know anything but she still couldn't believe how much it'd hurt when the vampire had walked in on their conversation.
"Shouldn't you be with your dainty lady friend who is far more pristine than pregnant trash like me?"
It was clear that Meredith figured he'd choose the vampire female's company over her own because she was a vampire and she was far more refined than Eden was. It was clear that she realized the vampire was far superior to her in beauty and everything there was to list, basically.

Veroen did not react whatsoever to her cold statement and attitude. He was all but used to it. Instead, he simply continued to sip on his frappucino in silence, until she finished her cold statement.
Veroen then said nothing for a moment, still staring straight ahead. Then he nodded to the cashier who looked at him, to make sure that this girl who speaking to Veroen as if she was disgusted with his presense, was the right girl. The cashier nodded and totalled up the price of of the Venti London Fog, on top of the DCC Frappucino. The cashier began to hand Veroen his change, but Veroen raised 2 fingers, which indicated that the cashier could keep the change. The cashier looked at him questionably to make sure he got thwe message right, and Veroen just nodded at him quietly, confirming the Cashiers unspoken question. The cashier then smiled nervously and pocketed the 10 dollar bill that was left over, and turned away, obviously not too eager to hear the outcome of the conversation between the mysteriously generous man in a trench coat, and the angry woman with a battle axe on her back.
Veroen waited another moment before replying to her nasty comment.
"We all make mistakes. I'm just trying to correct mine." Veroen said glumly, hinting at the unexpected appearance of Lily, whom he used to have feelings for, a year ago. Things were too different for him to continue to be with her now, things had changed...Veroen had changed...He still held his gaze forward, his eyes hidden beneath his shades, as he sipped on the refreshing frappucino.

Meredith didn't know what to say about the incident or what to do about the fact that he was here now. With each moment that passed with them being silent but for Veroen's subtle slurps since it was impossible for anyone, immortal or not to drink through a straw without making a slight slurping noise. However, the silence was broken temporarily as the star bucks attendent called out her drink and she went to claim it, gently blowing on the tea, deciding whether or not she was going to make her way back over to Veroen.
She finally gave in and dropped the whole cold demenor since she clearly failed at being mean and she was terrible at making poeple feel bad since it made her feel guilty. Instead of walking out on him she decided to take a seat beside him, simply sipping her tea idlely. She then switched to stirring the straw around in her tea as her uncertain hazel eyes stared into her cup as opposed to looking at Veroen.
"Thanks."
