themightyjello Status quo post! I wish I could make an attack here, I've been reacting too much and need to initiate some of these attacks. But this just doesn't really seem like the right time, since doing so would probably kill me. And I generally try to avoid that. I've been there before. Really, there's just gonna be some matchups and fights where even if your character is the super aggressive type who wants to be making the hits, being reactive instead of proactive is just how it's gonna be. And while this is purely OOC so it's less important - reactive fighting tends to be more effective. Because then your opponent's committed to something and has less opportunity to adjust where they left themselves open. *Smart* reactive fighting anyway, not that p***y s**t where two people stare at each other for 6 posts waiting for the other guy to make a move while somebody in the stands jerks it in a bucket of popcorn.

Darkest Silver Heita will regret this fight. He is so not getting any for a month...AND no more riding Skittles. AND if she fights again she is going in naked just to spite him. I'll just get a divorce... and take my helicarrier full of weapons with me... oh and Fido.

Yeah, I looked at the round 1 matches and though to myself: "Hmm... which characters, by virtue of their kit, have like an 80% chance of blowing me away?" The answers were Ertai Vexic and The Baron, both of which were on the list of people I was hoping to get a match with.

I was really interested in Sunsworn's character personally, given he apparently had to do revisions. Like imagine that. Revisions here. I can't even fathom what he put in his profile. God Nuke Laser Eyeballs and the power to rewind time or something.

I had to remove an ability that probably could have made this fight incredibly more difficult for Scalar. If we were using abilities that is, which we aren't.

I used to really like zero power fights. Think what turned me off about them besides the fact I like seeing the more unique mechanics some characters have, is that they'd often devolve into who front loaded the most base stats, or devolve into grappling contests that'd last forever, or people would pull the "I'm really tired.. but I can still keep going and throw punches at maximum strength, if you sell your character's damage YOU'RE FINISHED!" s**t and most judges of the day wouldn't even call them on it. *Most sensible joints*, you have less such issues when Knife A goes into Face B. They can be tired but still ready to go all they want, I've severed their eyes out of their sockets and cut the slack for their jaw then ripped their ears off while using their mouth like a Nutcracker. They're done.

Of course, but that's just it - a lot of people don't grasp that too well. Their bullshit meters crank into overdrive when they see somebody fire up an orbital cannon, but ignore strength modifiers. Most "no power" fights I've seen have had at least one superhuman level man fighting in them. Maybe Ninja Gaiden level.
