Miyuki nodded up and down quickly, "Because Andarien needs new clothes, but how will we know what kind of clothes will fit him if he's not here?"

Since most clothes were made to order.

Earendil looked at Miyuki, at a loss for words. He blinked a few times, then looked at Lin and grinned. "That is a very good point," he laughed. "How will we know what size to ask for, for the clothes, if we don't have Andarien with us for the tailor to measure?"

Wren laughed. "Then why not visit some other shops and go to the tailor another day when Andarien is with you?" she giggled.

Lin laughed at that, "I guess so, so where else should we go?"

She looked to Miyuki to see what she would say this time.

So Miyuki mused on this and mused on this a bit more.

"I don't know, let's look at something shiny."

Which could be anything really. Miyuki liked a lot of 'shiny' things, even weapons even if she didn't like to use them, they were neat to look at.

Earendil chuckled. That was typical Miyuki.

"Well, there are a few shiny places," Wren laughed. "Jeweler, glass smith, sword smith, metallurgist ..."

Those were the ones she could think of off the top of her head, anyways.

Miyuki had to think about it, there were quite a number of choices.

"Glass smith!" was the one that popped into her mind.

Wren laughed. Miyuki was always so energetic.

"Right, this way then," she grinned, and led them out of the shop. She started down the street.

A group of children was running down the street towards them, and as they passed they all called out a cheerful, "Hello, Princess Wren!" before they vanished around a corner.

Miyuki watched the children leave with interest for it had been a very long time since she had played with a large group of children. Not since she had left Amon Darthir had she played with children beyond Amalirahc and River.

"They all seem to be in a hurry,"
Lin murmured watching the children with a smile

Wren smiled softly. "They're an energetic group," she murmured. "Very sweet. They've always got some game going, or are on their way to one."

They rounded another corner, and on this street, there were buildings only on one side: the other side of the street was just a large grassy area, where some children were kicking a ball around. There were no adults supervising, though Earendil supposed that the city was so safe there was no real need for supervision.

Miyuki watched wide eyed, maybe she thought if they would let her... her, Amalirahc and River could play with them. They looked like they were having so much fun!

She was pretty much leaning over, watching them.

Earendil chuckled softly at Miyuki. "Another time, all right? You wanted to see the glass smith."

He put one hand on her shoulder to keep her from wandering off.

Miyuki blinked and remembering why they were headed this way nodded.

"Okay!"

She let herself be ushered the rest of the way to the glass smith, only because she couldn't help but glance behind her sometimes.

"We're nearly there," Wren assured them; and sure enough, only halfway up the street, she ushered them into a shop with a display window full of glass figurines.

The door was propped open, but there was a young woman dusting the shelves when they entered, and she turned to greet them with a warm, "Welcome!"

When she recognized Wren, she set her cloth down. "Oh, Princess Wren!" she exclaimed excitedly, seeming not to notice the others for the moment. "You have to see this, Papa just finished it this morning!"

And before anyone could react, she darted behind the counter and pulled out a glass figure of a unicorn that was prancing playfully in long grass. There were butterflies on it: one on its horn, one just above its tail; and a bird flying beside it, attached by the very tip of its wing to the unicorn's shoulder blade. It was comparatively large, about the size of Earendil's travel bag, and the details were incredibly realistic.

Wren's eyes glowed with appreciation. "Beautiful," she murmured, leaning down to get a better look at it as it sat on the counter. "How long did it take him?"

"Four months," the girl said proudly.

Miyuki put her hands behind her back, she knew now delicate glass can be and there were so many small details to it.

"That's really pretty, it looks almost real," Miyuki pipped up.

"Thank you!" the girl beamed at Miyuki. "Have you seen a real unicorn before? They're such beautiful creatures ..."

"My family keeps them back home," Earendil spoke up. "We prefer to ride them over horses."

The girl stared at him. "Are you perchance a member of the Aldrich royal family?" she guessed. "I know of no others who keep unicorns ..."

Earendil smiled and bowed his head slightly. "Prince Earendil Aldrich, at your service," he said formally. He nodded towards Lin and Miyuki. "My wife, Lin, and my daughter, Miyuki."

"It's an honour to meet you," the girl said warmly, curtsying low. "My name is Fleur."

Miyuki smiled and waved instead of bow or curtsy.

"It's nice to meet you! Do you make glass figures too?"

She knew that this sort of thing was often a family business.
