Since I plan on being a shinigami I have to start with a katana shaped zanpakutho, correct? And I wont use Kidou, I have alternatives planned but I dont know if they would be acceptable.

It doesn't have to be a katana, it could be a washizaki, long sword, dagger, wooden sword, etc. It must be some form of sword that isn't overly decorated; it must be very plain.
As for Kidou, you start off with 1-10, that's what you have to learn to get through the Shinigami Academy. After that, you don't have to learn any it you don't want to.
For your 'alternatives' they are to then be related to your Zanpakutou, gaining access to them in Shikai form. If there are a few that you want to access in sealed form, you can have a few, but will be far weaker than the normal variant.
Make up a profile and I'll look over it.

And you mean the Reiatsu Techniques correct?
Things like that have to pertain the the Zanpakutou's Shikai and Bankai. We can allow you to use them in sealed state, but only a few and at decreased strength.
At least that is my say. I could as the other Crew members as well and get their say on it, but it will take some time most likely.

As far as the Reiatsu Techniques go they would have to come after you learn your Shikai. The attacks would only be available in the sealed state once you have achieved Bankai. They would still be at a much decreased power.

Is the reiatsu manipulation acceptable? E.g the ability to store and release it from various areas of the body?
(Edit): So I would have no attacks for my sealed state?

Mr. Zaine, you could have attacks in your sealed state. As long as they were basic things, i.e, jumping into the air, doing a fancy flip, and landing in a smashing motion above the opponent. You can name that "super fancy flippy of doom" or something. =]
Edit: Oh shizz. I'm so giving Flower an attack named that. blaugh

There are very few people in this guild with Sealed attacks....and no one in the Anime that I can remember.
The few that do have sealed attacks in this guild got them after getting Bankai.

Anyway, I wasn't planning to use the really strong ones in fact I was planning to start with only the Spirit Bracers and Myukuhaku for defense and for offense the Toobei Reikon and Crescent strike.
