That's two direct hits for me! Nyeh-nyeh-nyeh! Sasha repeated mockingly in her head. The battle was off to an awful start. Ampoule had taken two hits to the face without a chance to counterattack. But now it was her turn. "Hm..." the pink haired girl thought. "Garçon, you said that Shiftry was a Grass and Dark Pokemon, oui?"
"That is correct, mademoiselle." replied the Pokedex, a bright blue light flickering as it spoke. "So that would mean that the best kind of move to use would be a..." "A bug type, mademoiselle."
Sasha smiled, for it just so happened that Ampoule knew a Bug type move. "Ampoule!" she cried. "Faisceau Signal!
Finally, a chance to attack, thought the Lanturn as her antenna began to glow bright. With a loud bellow, she shot a strange, dilapidated, multicolored beam at the Shiftry, the usually gentle Pokemon finding herself wearing a rather confident smirk.

"Huh? Oh no silly, lookie it's you! When you were inside your mommy's tummy!" She smiled sweetly, and Sam groaned. Her cheeks burned with embarassment.
"That's...wonderful Mom. And why is this so important?"
"Well it was our first ultrasound! At this point we thought we were going to have twin boys! See?" She pointed to the top corner. It said "PATIENT: Traci Ellis." and handwritten "Remington/Sam Ellis".
"Remington? Are you serious?"
"Yup completely serious! When we found out it wasn't twins, we decided to name you Remington! But when you were born, you were a girl! Since our backup name had been Samuel anyways, we named you Samantha! And so, Samantha Holland Ellis was born!" Sam looked away out of embarassment. Orion was silently shaking with laughter. "So anyways honey, how have you been?" Finally, a better subject.
"Well I caught another pokemon. A Mankey, named Maelogan. And today I defeated Brock, the Pewter City Gym leader."
"Oh really? Congratulations baby! We love you so much!" Her mom stretched out her arms in an air hug." Sam sighed.
"I love you too, but I have to go now. Okay?"
"Alright! Love you!" The call ended. Orion was still chuckling.
"It isn't funny Orion" Sam was angry at herself for letting Orion see that. She had forgotten how embarassing her parents could be.
"Sure it is. It's always funny when parents embarass their children."
"What are you, 5?!" She stomped over to the map to see where she needed to go next. She followed Route 3 until she realized she needed to go through Mt. Moon to get to Cerulean City. She slumped. She hated caves. There were several near Cianwood, on Route 41. She went exploring in them one time, but got caught in the whirlpools, and then got lost trying to get out. She was trapped for several days until her dad came with his Pokemon that knew Flash, and revealed she had only been a few yards away from the entrance.
"Actually, I'm 17. So you need to go through Mt. Moon huh? Lucky for you, it's pretty light. You won't need Flash." 17? That's weird. She could have sworn he was older then that.
"I guess that's good. Star and Miles can't learn Flash. Plus, I didn't want to buy the HM." She took out the TM, Rock Tomb. "Should I teach this to one of them?"
"What is it?"
"Rock Tomb."
"Nah, save it. You'll probably find a use for it later." She put it away.
"Why are you here anyways Orion?"
"Actually, I need to go to Saffron City. I was coming here to check on a few experiments going on at the museum, and they told me to go to Saffron for an update. I left my Staravia back in Vermillion, stupid move on my part. Want me to go with you through Mt. Moon?"

The sun blinded M.A. and co when they exited the tunnel, finding themselves before a gloomy assortment of storehouses nearby one of Lilycove's piers. Or were they warehouses? M.A. wasn't sure if there was a difference between the two, but she was sure that it didn't matter very much and it was a waste of her energy to ponder the question any further, especially since they were looking for two missing Pokemon and all.
Daemyn and Tora had their first argument here as to where to chase next. This whole time Ulani's scent had been terribly light -- the bird was inhumanely clean, you know, and it wasn't like she dragged herself on the floor for them -- but the two hounddogs had worked off chance traces of cotton fluff that she must have shed doing something active. Whatever she was doing, she had stopped doing it here, and so the clues were gone. But she was nearby, somewhere; the sniffers knew that much. Diego translated this sentiment into words in the sky for M.A.'s sake.
Daemyn argued left, Tora argued right, and M.A. just stood there dumbly, wondering why Ulani would be in such a dreary place. "ULANIII WHERE AR--" she began to shout, but Diego was suddenly sitting on her back and stifled her with a hand. Mouth still covered, she read what he wrote before wafting two inches from her face -- "Cállate~ Is unlikely that (picture of Swablu) would cary egg all the way hear for fun; they may have been tooken. Until we know were dey are, silince would be best."
M.A.'s eyes widened. Could Ulani and the egg have been kidnapped? The idea hadn't yet occurred to her. "Diego, Daemyn, let's just comb the area. I'll get you two both treats after this," she said apologetically, noting Daemyn rubbing his nose woefully. The sandy air was a bit sharp, you know.
Meanwhile, Ulani had certainly heard her own name a moment ago, although it was a bit distant, and so renewed an effort to struggle against her duct tape confinement. Her captor raised a brow. "Could that be your trainer? It'll be troublesome if she finds us," he murmured, looking at the dusty window. He could vaguely make out a tall figure some few buildings away along with some Pokemon, but he couldn't be sure it was her. Regardless he'd stay quiet until his pick-up came; should be soon.

When they arrived at Oldale town it actually took Riza by surprise. She was expecting it to take much longer than that but there they were, standing on the edge of the little town. It was small, much smaller than Riza had expected. She tried not to scoff. "It's.....quaint," she said finally though she was impressed to see that this place had a pokecenter at least. She looked over at Keegan and shook her head. "No, there's nothing I need here," she answered. She had no money anyway and she wasn't about to use her dad's credit card anymore for a while. 'I'll pay him back for the clothes someday though,' she thought, smiling to herself. 'When I'm a famous coordinator!'
"Was it south?" she asked, already leading the way, though one didn't have to have a map to navigate this small town. They followed the main street until it lead down to route 101, where Riza could see that it was on a gentle downhill slope. "Look, you can see Littleroot from here," she remarked, pointing. She could just make out the outline of a town maybe the same size or smaller than Oldale. "Let's go, we're running out of time," she said, her voice abnormally cheerful. "A girl needs time to get ready for balls," she added, grinning devilishly. "Even if she is only going with her friend."

"Yes, south," Keegan nodded, but Riza was already headed that way anyway. The redhead didn't complain and simply followed after her, finding that he was getting more and more nervous as time went on. He wasn't nervous about meeting with Professor Birch; he'd met him several times as Birch was a regular visitor to his parent's ranch; but he was, in fact, growing nervous about tonight. He really hated social situations like that and he almost always found a way to make a buffoon out of himself. He'd open his mouth to respond to Riza's comment but shut it suddenly, deciding that for once he was happy being out of the hole and he didn't really feel like digging himself a new one at this moment in time. "Yeah, I bet they do," he replied instead, wondering what he was going to do with himself. He'd forgotten that he'd have to rent a tux and he scowled at the thought of being trapped in that monkey suit all night. Maybe we can show up, mingle a bit then take off early, he thought hopefully. "All right, let's get this over with," he said, now leading the way towards Littleroot Town. Once I have a PokeDex then things will be a helluva lot easier, he thought, grinning. ===== Both Falkner and his Pidgey watched as Jack soared higher and higher, and Falkner didn't think he'd done it on purpose, but the Pidgey had positioned itself so that it was lost in the glare of one of the floodlights. Falkner raised an eyebrow, smirking ever so slightly. This could be good, he thought. The eye-patch clad Pidgey came barreling down out of nowhere, and Falkner's Pidgey prepared itself for impact by holding its wings out in front of it in a defensive manner...
...but was suddenly struck from behind as Jack feinted downward, catching both Falkner and Pidgey by surprise. "Nice," Falkner commented, impressed with the little bird's cunning. But cunning alone wasn't going to get him through this fight. "All right Pidgey, show him your Aerial Ace." Falkner closed his eyes and folded his arms across his chest. He'd given the boy a chance to back down, but he'd squandered it. Pidgey let out a shrill battle cry before it sped up high in the air, locking on to its target below it. The bird tucked its wings in close to its body as it sped towards Jack, a bright, white light trailing behind it as it prepared to strike Jack with the unavoidable move.

"Yeah, let's go already," Riza murmured as they headed south, the town in the distance seemingly growing larger with every step they took closer. It really wasn't that far away, and the winding road was a bit easier to get down thanks to the ledges along the way. Jumping down them made for a bit of a shortcut and Riza was happy to put them to use. In a short while they arrived in Littleroot, while Riza studied the large sign that told them where they were. It was small, like Oldale, yet just as nice. There were small children playing in their front yards under the watchful eyes of their parents, many of them with Pokemon Riza had never seen before. "It's nice here," she murmured, looking over to Keegan curiously. "Okay, so why did you want to come to this little town anyway? Looking for a quaint little starter home for you and your girlfriend?" The question slipped out before she could stop it, though her tone had been upbeat and playful, not rude or sarcastic, like the question itself had been. She flinched a little, certain it would start him off on another tirade of anger, ready to apologize if need be.

Upon reaching the door at Oaks lab he was about to knock when he realized that it would just be easier, and louder to get Hera to do it for him. Looking down the powerful if young Heracross and nudged her a little. "Hera could you please use your horn to knock on the door for me?" He asked politely. Hera just grinned up at him and tipping her head forward a few times she knocked somewhat hard on the door. Well he didn't know how hard she knocked all he knew was that there was a loud bang on each of the knocks. "Wow, ok that was kinda loud, maybe not that hard next time Hera."
Just as he finished saying that Oak appeared at the door with a confused look on his face. "Woah where is the fire?" He joked after he got over the loud knocks. Upon seeing who was at his door he grinned and opened the door more. "Oh hello Dante! I haven't seen you in a long while." Looking down at the pokemon at Dante's side a small surprised look on his face. "i thought you gave up being a trainer."
Grinning slightly at the sight of the professor Dante couldn't help but feel a bit better at today. "Well, that is a long story, and partially why I am here actually. You don't mind if I come in do you?"
"Oh no come in." Oak opened the door a bit more and let Dante and Hera inside.

"What the, a Shelgon? You're rolling in the rare pokemon bro." Brawly said with a grin, Jae here was interesting indeed. He could hardly wait to keep this battle going, so he wouldn't. He and Medicham watched as the Endurance Pokemon with short stubby legs did a little dance, glowing with power as it's attack and speed got a push start. Shelgon weren't particularly fast if memory served, but Medicham wasn't exactly speedy himself and he'd been severely slowed down by that Scary Face. "Heh, don't let that scare you Medicham. A single Dragon Dance won't decide this fight, use Brick Break!" He may not have been at his fastest, but Medicham still had a highly destructive attack behind every blow. He dashed forward with hand held over his head, pulsating with power as he did his best to close the distance between himself and his opponent despite diminished speed and brought it down with authority as he attempted to crack the shell of this sturdy pokemon. "Yeah Medicham, send them crashing with a wave of strength!"

Keegan had also been thinking about how short the walk had been from Oldale so he'd nearly missed what Riza had said. His heart tried to jump up his throat but he managed to quell it by closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. When he opened his eyes again he was smiling. "Don't be silly, Riza," he said, his voice filled with mock enthusiasm. "I don't have a girlfriend. Never have." He grinned wolfishly and patted her on the shoulder. "To Professor Birch's laboratory," he added, also answering her first question. "You know that PokeDex of yours?" he added, once they'd started walking again. "Well, I'm here to get one of my own. I'm sick of always being in the dark with Pokemon I don't know all that well or have never seen before."
After asking for directions, the unlikely duo was sent in the right direction. Before long they came upon a squat, though large building. So this is Birch's lab, he thought, studying the sign posted out front. Beckoning for Riza to follow him he went up the front steps and knocked on the door. After a few moments it opened, revealing a young, bespectacled and rather attractive woman wearing a long, flowing white labcoat. Her somewhat serious face was framed by luscious locks of ebony hair, most of which was pulled back into a loose bun at the back of her head. She gave Keegan and Riza the once over and she nodded once. "Yes? Can I help you?"
"Oh yes please," Keegan replied, perhaps a little too eagerly. "Uh, we're here to see Professor Birch."
"I see. You're just in time; he's about to head out on one of his field expeditions. Come in," she said, turning and motioning for the duo to follow her inside. Keegan nodded at Riza and headed in, quite eager to finally get that PokeDex.

Oh-ho-ho! "Ambitious, aren't we?" Misty had to yell, the pool was so large! But oh, what a good match this would be! An ambitious challenger, exactly what the doctor ordered.
Misty looked over at a small but noticeable platform that jutted out into the pool, directly in between the two battlers. Two flags, one blue and one red sat on top of it. Misty grabbed the blue whistle resting below her neck and violently blew into it. The shrill sound echoed throughout the whole room, making even the Pokemon in the aquarium swim for cover. At the sound of the whistle, a Dewgong slowly but surely emerged from the pool. He took his place upon the platform and grabbed both flags, one for each fin. He turned his attention to Misty and gave an enthusiastic nod (how long could he stay out of the water, anyway?).
Misty smiled back at the Dewgong. "Dewgong here will be our judge." She grabbed one of the poke balls clipped onto her belt, and took a good look at it. When she was satisfied with her choice, the pokeball went flying into the pool. The whole pool was encompassed by the red flash of the Pokemon being released from the poke ball. Suddenly, a Staryu broke the steady surface of the pool, accompanied by millions of crystalline water droplets. "Let's go, Staryu!" Misty shouted (rather late in her tagline).
Analyzing Robin's choice of Pokemon made Misty snicker a bit. "Don't underestimate me, Robin. I know a lot about Slowpoke - it is a Water type, after all!" Nonetheless, she sent a wink Robin's way. "Best of luck to you! Are you ready, Robin?" But Misty waited for no answer. "GO!"
Dewgong waved his flags around as if he were announcing the start of a race. As both flags went down, so did Dewgong. His enthusiastic "DEW-GONG!" of a "go!" quickly turned into a "gooooooong!" of agony as he slipped and fell into the pool. Giggles could be heard from the stands directly behind where Dewgong was standing. Misty's three sisters, Daisy, Lily, and Violet, sat in the bleachers, giggling intensely. The poor Dewgong had frantically found his way back up onto the platform, and looked up at the three girls with a pout. Shouts of "we love you, Dewgong!" could be heard from the stands. The Dewgong turned back towards the battlefield, satisfaction visible on his face. The shouts from the stand didn't end there, however. They quickly turned into shouts of "let's go, Slowpoke!", "good luck, challenger!", and "give Misty a run for her badges!".
Misty's anger was visible (think anime-style vein popping) as her hand formed a shaking fist. Muttering "how embarassing..", she faced her sisters and yelled, "Thanks for being reaaally supportive, guys!" But anyway, back to the battle! "Well Robin, I hope that you don't mind if I make the first move then! Staryu, Swift!"
Staryu jumped onto Misty's platform. White-hot stars from shot in a line from one of its arms, aimed right towards the pink lump of a Slowpoke.

Ryka's face showed astonishment. "Wow, so you have traded a lot, then! But none of them have been permanent.. I suppose that this is new one for you, then!" It is nice that you've helped so many people too.. Ryka felt almost omnipresent. There she was, the girl on the large screen that overlooked all of the room. As there was nothing much else to watch, Ryka folowed Kasiya's movements. When she saw that Kasiya had given Twilight a TM, Ryka's whole face lit up. How sweet! She even heard a giggle of happiness erupt from her. Yes, he would be very happy with Kasiya, indeed.
Just then, Professor Oak walked back into the room, accompanied by a stranger, who seemed both familiar and yet unknown to Ryka. She studied him for a while.. until she realized that Professor Oak was talking. "Kasiya, Ryka, this is Dante. Maybe you have met before?" he shrugged. Ryka didn't know whether they had met before or not, but decided to greet him as if they hadn't. "Hello Dante. I am Ryka. It is nice to meet you..?"
On Professor Oak's right shoulder, Ryka noticed, sat someone who did look very familiar to her. The Pikachu seemed to recognize her, as well. He came running up to the screen, appearing as large as Allegra had a little bit ago. "Blitz!" Ryka exclaimed with happiness. This day just kept getting better! "It is so good to see you, old friend!" Blitz nodded back, his cheeks sparkling with electricity and excitement. Ryka smiled. "Please, Blitz, I would like to ask you to come back and travel with me?" Blitz looked down, as if he were thinking the question over. But suddenly, he looked up with a smile. Of course he would!
Professor Oak noticed this exchange. "Oh, of course, of course. Back you go, Blitz. You'll see Ryka in a moment!" Blitz disappeared in a red flash, returned to one of the two poke balls in the Professor's hand. He then walked over to the computer and placed the two poke balls in their respective indents. "Are you ready, Ryka?" She nodded.
He flipped a switch, and much like the trading machine, the computer whirred and buzzed. The poke balls were sucked into tubes, and before Ryka knew it, they sat right in front of her. "Wow, how fast!" She held the two poke balls in her hands and smiled. "The family feels very complete now."

Kasiya looked up at Professor Oak as he came back into the room, complete with Blitz the Pikachu perched on his shoulder, and another tall figure that Kasiya recognized almost immediately. "...Dante?" she asked, scrutinizing him for a moment or so longer before she decided that it really was him. Twilight simply tilted his head, taking in the tall, auburn-haired boy and his funny Pokemon before he decided they were friendly. "Long time no see," she added, feeling a peculiar tug in her chest as she spoke. The last time she'd seen Dante was when he told her that he had to give up Pokemon training due to powers beyond his control, and that he was giving his Pokemon to trainers that he trusted, and he'd given her his young Mudkip, Leviathan, to take care of. Subconsciously she lightly touched one of the Pokeballs strapped to her belt. Did he want to take Levi back? She had promised him she'd give the Water-type back to him, if that were ever the case, but she couldn't help but feel sad at the thought. She'd grown attached to the Mudkip, well, Marshtomp now, and they'd already been through a lot in the short time they'd been together.
Trying to fight back a wave of tears, she looked over at Ryka onscreen, now seeing her happy reunion with Blitz taking place. Again something gripped at her heart, but this time she was unable to fight back her tears, and this time it had nothing to do with Dante. She bit her lower lip, trying to keep herself from crying, but it was no use. Seeing the Pikachu just kicked up too many memories. "Uh... excuse me, everyone, but I... need to get some air." Twilight was right on her heels as she ran out the same door that Dante and Hera had just come through. She didn't stop running until she was completely out of breath and she fell to her knees under a large, shady tree, hugging her aching chest tightly as she tried to hold back her breathless sobs. Twilight padded up to her, very much out of breath as well, and quite confused. He had no idea why this girl, who'd been so happy a moment or so ago, had suddenly broken down like this, and his ears drooped a little as he climbed up into her lap, trying to make her feel better. "Thank you, Twilight," she murmured, shifting into a more comfortable position and wrapping her arms around the Umbreon and buried her face in his warm, soft fur. "What am I supposed to do?" she asked the blue-ringed Pokemon in a muffled voice. "I can't fall to pieces every time I see a Pikachu or Raichu..." She sighed heavily, knowing only two things. One, she had to rescue Shocker from Mai and the rest of Team Rocket, and two, she knew she couldn't do it alone.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan merely shrugged at Brawly's comment. He hadn't gone out of his way to obtain neither Metang nor Shelgon, as Metang had been given to him by Ryka, and he'd won Shelgon at the Cherry Blossom Festival out of sheer luck. Both he and Shelgon watched as the Medicham raced forward, still showing impressive speed despite the fact that it was suffering a stat penalty in that area. "Wait for it, Shelgon," Jaeshan commanded sharply, driving a clenched fist into his palm. "Then counter with a pointblank Dragonbreath!" Now Jaeshan knew that this wasn't the strongest move in Shelgon's arsenal, but it had a wide range and he knew it would be difficult, if not improbable, for Medicham to escape this attack.
Shelgon drew in a deep breath, bracing herself for impact as Medicham's powerful fist slammed down right on top of her head. Her shell was a major factor in reducing some of the damage she received, and the force of the blow also helped her to expel the Dragonbreath at her opponent, and just like that there was a scorching blaze of indigo-coloured flames that lit up the whole area with an eerie, purplish glow.

"Jack, brace yourself!!!" Dakra knew how fast the other Pidgey could go. There was no way Jack was fast enough to dodge it.
Jack saw his opponet coming. It was fast, but not fast enough. Instead of obeying Dakra, Jack tried to avoid it. It didn't work, as he tried to move out of the way, the bigger Pidgey's wing hit him directly. "I WILL BE BACK!!!!" Jack yelled, spiraling to the ground. He hit it, and fainted.
"Jack, return." Dakra said. He looked at the Pokeball and sighed, "I'm sorry." Turning back to the battle, he put Sherlock in the field.
After watching what had happened to Jack, Sherlock was shaking in his boots. He didn't want to think how hard this guy could be if he used all his strength.

Riza breathed a sigh of relief when Keegan let it go, realizing she'd probably just dodged a bullet right there. Before long they were moving again, and Riza thought about complaining that her feet hurt, but she changed her mind. She didn't want to walk all the way back to Petalburg, even though it wasn't that long of a walk.
When they reached the lab Riza discovered that she wasn't all that impressed by the building. But then again, had it been large and imposing it probably would have made the rest of Littleroot feel inferior. She rolled her eyes at Keegan's response to the lab assistant, he was just like other boys, even though she knew he'd deny it. Still remaining quiet she followed him inside, not really sure what to expect.
((Ok this post isn't very good....but I didn't know what else to write! =( ))

"Ambitious isn't even the start of it." Robin yelled back with a grin plastered on her face. It felt good to just let her worries from before go, what would happen would happen and she would do her best to enjoy herself.
When the Dewgong swam into the arena Robin couldn't help but be impressed by it. When she had seen it earlier that day in the contest it had been beautiful, now seeing it up close though it was really something! Still she couldn't be distracted by the pretty pokemon.
Robin watched as Misty released her Staryu and she grinned at its stunning entrance. Well this certainly was going to be an interesting battle, her having never battled with Slowpoke before, thank goodness she had looked up his moves when she had scanned him earlier. Still she was confident that Slowpoke wouldn't let her down. "You may know a lot about water pokemon but that won't stop me from beating you!" Of course her dramatic speech and an extra pose from her was interrupted by the silly Dewgong falling into the water. Upon seeing that both Robin and Luffy burst into laughter, it sure was funny to see their judge fall into the water like that.
Of course while Robin was laughing she didn't notice until to late that Misty and her Staryu had launched a mean looking Swift attack at Slowpoke. 'Hmm I better start paying attention now.' Robin thought as Slowpoke was hit head on by the Swift attack. "Ha! Slowpoke lets show her what we thought of that attack!"
In the water just below the surface Slowpoke stared at his trainer with confused eyes. 'Show her what we thought of that attack? What did that mean?' Well either way the pain hadn't exactly gotten through to Slowpokes mind yet and he was getting kinda tired, the water was so relaxing to. Swimming up to the top a bit Slowpoke opened his big mouth and let out a huge Yawn.
"Haha! That's right Slowpoke! You are going to have to do more then that to impress us Misty." Robin taunted from her little platform. The enthusiastic and spirited girl watched the small cloud that had come out of Slowpokes mouth float lazily across the field and over to the Staryu.
~~~~~
Being let in by Professor Oak Dante was a bit surprised to see that not only did the professor have visitors but visitors he knew. Well ok he knew Kasiya and he thought the girl on the phone looked kind of familiar. "Hello Ryka." He said with a small smile, no need to be unfriendly. Just as he was turning to greet Kasiya back he saw her rush out of the lab. Blinking dark eyes a few times in confusion he stared at the door that she had just run out of. "Did I do something to upset her?" He muttered mostly to himself. He must have missed out on something while he was gone, or maybe she was mad at him?
'Or maybe she thinks that you are going to take the pokemon you gave her back.' A voice whispered in the back of his mind.
'Oh that might be it. Also please stop picking through my mind, it violates my privacy you know. I should talk to her later and let her know whats up.' Shaking his head he filed that thought away for later and turned back to the professor to see him talking some more with Ryka. Well, those two seemed busy, maybe he would get see what was up with Kasiya right now? Hmm that seemed good. "Hera would you stay here with the professor for a moment for me?" He asked the happy looking Heracross who nodded in response. "Thank you." That taken care of he headed out the door once more and out into the yard.
It was in the yard that Dante came across a small problem, the yard was very big and he couldn't exactly see Kasiya from where he was. Ok so maybe this wasn't the most brilliant of ideas.
