Congratulations. (Is that the right term to use when someone is getting their braces off?)
What is it about braces that makes everyone hate them so much? Is it just the foods you can't eat, or do they hurt? (or something like that)

Hi guys!
@Hyper Nerds Eat Cookie: Congratulations! I was so happy when my dentist said I could take mine off!
@Lyra: I can only talk for myself, but with me the problem was about the food I couldn't eat and because it used to hurt when the dentist adjusted it or when something was out of place and used to scratch the inside of my cheeks. neutral

Lyra Elizabeth Congratulations. (Is that the right term to use when someone is getting their braces off?)
What is it about braces that makes everyone hate them so much? Is it just the foods you can't eat, or do they hurt? (or something like that) Both. When they put them in, it's using cement to glue metal to your teeth in an awkward position. And then, for at least a year or more, you aren't allowed to eat the best food known to mankind. Then every few weeks or so, they take the wire they they had put in originally and replace it with a thicker, tighter, and more pain-bringing wire. Then comes the rubber bands that are just plain annoying. So when you hear you get them off, it makes everyone feel all happy inside because they won't have to deal with that crap anymore. These braces have been messing with my speech! I want to be able to talk normal again!

Good for you! I hated braces. I hated my retainers too, so much they couldn't get me to wear them. So now my teeth are slightly crooked, giving an impression of naturally straightish teeth. And they will never, ever convince me to wear braces again. Uh-uh. They have new types of retainers now though, so if one type feels uncomfortable you could probably ask for the other type.

I don't wear my retainers either. So uncomfortable, and I couldn't talk around them properly... Joy to you, Hyper! And just before Christmas, too!

Soooo...just to check in, how is everyone doing? Are we all okay? Still kicking? Good.
Me, I'm getting anxious for Christmas. I just can't wait!!! Grandma insists on waiting until after thanksgiving to start putting up decorations and it's driving me crazy! I love Christmas, it's the most wonderful time of the year *sings*

I love Christmas and the decoration, but when I try to help with them, my mom always says I'm doing it wrong or something so I don't help a lot neutral [I don't blame her though,my creative side it's pretty lousy]. So...... any other awesome dates happening on December??

If you're talking about birthdays...there's a lot. I think people have too much, ahem, fun, in the spring, because there is always a lot of December birthdays. July ones too. In our family especially, it's like someone decided: ok, we'll put 10 of you in December, 10 of you in July, and the others we'll randomly scatter in the other months.
Aside from birthdays, I guess we have the New Year's party and the Family Christmas party (which is 2 weeks before Christmas), and I personally have a 2 1/2 hour dentist appointment set.
I don't actually like decorating so much as being in the decorated house and having an excuse to blast every kind of Christmas music I can find. Or bang out on the piano.
I'm definitely NOT looking forward to cold and snow, ugh!!
