As they walked along Edith took yet another dignified, disinterested sip of her coffee as she heard the vampire utter two simple words. Humour me. "Hm ..." She said calmly and speculatively, half to herself half to Alasdair as she walked, "Well I suppose I could but you'd have to learn how to compromise in the process and humour me. Not to mention it depends what you're meaning by me humouring you. No sexual favours from me, Mr. Alasdair." She uttered the last sentence with a wink while she playfully stuck her tongue out at him. "Sexual favours for vampires usually don't end all that well for us humans so I think I'm not going to try my luck and just be dull and boring and stick to my own alley. Plus weren't you that vampire that was all getting it on with Rogue? Yeah ... that was you. You were the vampire that was fighting Tokeru and killed him! Don't you remember the whole Las Noches scene? That was me as a vampire that kicked Rogue's a**. Oh boy I totally remember you now."

When he stopped walkling she continued walking for a few moments before she came to notice that he'd stopped and she walked backwards a few steps to align herself with Alasdair beside the alleyway. She watched him gesture to it and though it was lit everyone knew that alleyways weren't exactly the most high profile place to talk. Of course she knew he wouldn't want the wrong ears to catch wind of this but she didn't think an alleyway was exactly a dignified place to talk. "Don't you have any class at all? Jeez, I'm not some grub with no money, we could go talk at one of your supernatural bars or something as opposed to sitting out here in the cold. However, I already have a coffee and I'm needing to do my job so I suggest we talk as we walk. I've got some lycans and a demon in the subways I'm supposed to be tracking for the time being."

As she began walking away from the alley it was quite clear she expected Alasdair to follow since she wasn't exactly bound to his time schedule. She'd said that she'd been willing to humour him if he was willing to humour her and humouring her meant that he wasn't taking her away from her job and duty. The guy had all the time in the world and she only had about thirty years of life left if that and that was if she proved to be lucky on the battlefield so she was certain he could afford taking a bit of time to accompany her to the subways.

While walking the huntress spotted the young lycan she'd encountered in the park and a slight expression of puzzlement befell her countenance. "Hey kid," she called after Wolf, "I thought you were meeting up with the other lycans in your pack. You lost? They're in the subway if you're looking for them. I'm on babysitting duty so I get to stalk them around and make sure they don't blow anything up so you're free to tag along if you wanna." It was pretty clear that she kind of had a soft spot for the kid, that she was watching out for him. It wasn't really highly personal since the kid did his own thing and she didn't see him around much but she kind of saw herself in him though she'd been slightly older than him when she'd taken to the streets as a kid.

Like the kid, Eden had noticed the number of immortals lingering in the city though she didn't make too much of it since the best place to hide was often in plain sight unless you drew attention to yourself. The fact that two of them seemed to be having an argument was probably drawing unnecessary amounts of attention to themselves but they didn't seem to care or notice. Of course she could make a deal out of it but she decided to leave them to it. As long as they weren't causing trouble then she was fine to leave them as they were.

She rolled her eyes, "Didn't catch onto my sarcasm." She mumbled under her breath. She sighed and disappeared from where she stood, she reappeared at Diego's side and picked up at running at his pace, "What're you planning to kill? The gang, like you "offered" before?" She laughed in spite of herself. Diego had offered to kill a gang with her and then ran off without her. She thought it was really childish.

Before the vampire found the alley that he found suitable to chat, he heard what the woman replied to his simple request. At first, he listened as he stared forward, but when he heard the woman talk about sexual favors he quickly turned towards her. He had a puzzled look on his face, but then he saw that the woman was only playing. A smile grew on his lips as the girl went on. Before the woman finished he was actually chuckling softly, the girl had warmed up suddenly. The change pleased Alasdair greatly, and just then, he saw the said alleyway.

He stopped, but not for long since Edith kept walking. She never actually stopped, she just walked backwards to turn down his offer. Instead, the woman wanted to talk as they walked. So they where going to meet mutts and demons. Well that would be great, because Alasdair needed all the help he could get to deal with the Feds.

Alasdair decided to please the woman and just follow her, moving to her side as they walked. He had not said a thing before the woman began talking once again. This time the woman did not talk to him, she suddenly began speaking with a kid moving at the park. It took Alasdair a moment before he identified the kid as a lycanthrope. It was curious to see the girl being so protective of the young lycan. It looks like Alasdair was right all along, she was the woman he needed on his group.

He needed Edith because she was strong, she was smart and she cared for those who needed help. "I came here because I need your help Edith." The man finally admitted after the woman finished talking to the kid. "I am forming a group of the powerful creatures left in New York, those who are not affiliated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation." The man broke off after he began. It was the first time that Alasdair explained his plan to anyone, but under the current circumstances he needed her to agree with him.

Before resuming, Alasdair moved his hand back into the outer pocket of his ankle long, black leather trench coat. He buried his hand inside and looked for the small carton box once again. It took Alasdair an instant to draw back his hand, and on his palm was a red box -it was his cigarette box. Alasdair quickly pushed open the lid and with his free hand, he drew out a single white stick. When the stick was out of the box, the vampire moved the box into his pocket once again. Alasdair left the box inside his pocket and then he pulled out his silver lighter. The vampire moved the cigarette to his lips and quickly lit it with his lighter.

Alasdair took a long drag of his cigarette before blowing a cloud of smoke away from the woman. "I am a man that has always done what is best for his family, to protect them and strengthen them. And right now, I have no family thanks to the FBI." The man finally resumed in a soft tone. " They have nearly annihilated all the vampires, as well as the other creatures of the night. I want to gather all of us who are left and fight against out common enemy, fight them because they do not discriminate on who they kill. They will capture and torture any one of us, including that kid." As Alasdair mentioned the kid, he motioned towards him with his occupied hand.

When the vampire moved his hand back, he brought it to his lips to catch another long drag. "I want you to join me because you care, and you will defend them no matter what. I want you to be part of my family, I want to bring all those who are suffering because of them." Alasdair finally stopped, hoping that the woman would stop with him. "Will you join me?" He asked and took another drag as he waited for the woman's response.

Meredith wasn't beyond being nice to others and breaking the ice a little since she was naturally a friendly person that tried to include everyone and assure that everything was fair all around. She wasn't beyond cracking jokes and living a bit as well as having some fun too so she was glad to see that the vampire had taken her jokes well as opposed to badly. Not that she was afraid of him or anything since she was able to kick his a** in a heart beat if she had to. However, no such thing had occurred so far and things seemed to be going fairly well considering everything. She still had no clue what it was that Alasdair wanted from her, though and that was beginning to eat at her a bit as they walked along in silence for a bit.

She sipped her coffee and listened to his proposition to her though it wasn't even really a proposition it was more a request, a plea for help. It was pretty ironic to her that this vampire was bothering to ask her of all people and hunters for help when he'd killed her fiance and had opposed her only about a half a year ago. Of course, Alasdair and her had never fought head to head and Tokeru had been the one to provoke the fight though she knew that Alasdair had pinned Tokeru as one of his targets to play with. "Pfft ... I'm human now so I'm not going to be of any use unless you're wanting to use me as a puppet in the media or something like that. I can probably slip under those lines and get a few words into some stupid interview or something like that and try to give the population conflicting views on vampires. I mean, what would be better to do than to give the media the current most senior hunter and have them say that they weren't too concerned about the vampires and lycans, yadda yadda? But yeah, other than that I'm not very useful."

While Alasdair moved to set himself up with yet another cigarette, Meredith paused in thought and began running her finger in circles over the top of the coffee cup's lid. 'Hm ... What the hell should I do? I don't like the FBI here either and I know that they're hunting the immortals whether they've reason to or not ... I also know that Mauser has to do with all this s**t that's been stirred up so the closer I stick to the other races the closer I am to Mauser. That dumb a** isn't going to screw everything up agan and get away with it this time. I'll kill him myself. He's a horrible man and has no compassion for anything that isn't human and that's a problem that's being reflected in the FBI which might mean they're not even the actual FBI ... Maybe they're just under Mauser posing as the FBI ...'

"Yeah ... You've done some pretty shitty things to keep your family safe in the past I'm sure and this is where it's gotten you. Karma my friend, you probably should learn your lesson from this. Anyhow ... I hate the FBI being here as well mostly because I don't think they're the official FBI but I don't have any way of proving it. I think that either this is a legitamate FBI force under control and jurisdiction of Mauser or Mauser cheated and created his own FBI force to pose as a real one ... And yeah, the torturing can't continue and we have to stand up for ourselves ... They're monsters and a few of our hunters that're immortal have gone missing and I blame these guys ... Anyhow, I'll band together with you for now but once people are safe and accounted for I'm probably gonna pull out. This isn't permanent or anything just so you're clear on things."

She didn't give a damn what his bullshit reason for wanting her to join was, she wanted to know his real reason and so as he told her why he wanted her there she sipped her coffee, seemingly disinterested. "Sure. I'll join you. I gave you my conditions. I'm in this until all of my family members are accounted for and then I'm going to pull out of this whole alliance thing. After all, as decent as you seem you did kill a hunter and I really don't have any reason to be trusting you at all. You're lucky I can forgive or I'd probably be trying to murder you at the moment or something along those lines."

Wolf looked over at the person whom addressed him. "They might go ahead and blow themselves up as far as I know. As long as I blend in similar to how I am now, I think I'll be good for a while." He listening in to the conversation, and had his own thoughts. Often those who are able to cheat do so. Wouldn't be surprised if this 'Mauser' guy did. Wolf thought.

    || Sorry Al but you're taking wayyy too long to post. ||

"You do realize," Meredith said somewhat indignantly as she was growing impatient with Alasdair's silence, he was just wasting her time now, "that I've got a job I'm supposed to be doing and you're wasting all of my bloody time by sitting here and babbling to me about something that's not so relevant to me anyhow. Ugh ... Alright. I'm sick of you wasting my time. Go try to recruit someone else into your mini army cause against the FBI. I'm not interested now because you take way too long to explain yourself. Good evening Mr. Alasdair, I'll probably see you around but who knows these days. I might end up dead tomorrow so catch you another time when you're actually prepared to say something that's worth my time."

After disrespectfully tellling the vampire off, Meredith began to casually walk away since she could clearly see that this was going no where fast. As she walked away she sipped the last of her latte and hastily deposited it in a garbage bin before proceeding toward the subway. While walking along she fiddled with her trench coat that wasn't fully buttoned up and then adjusted her purple shades before she broke into a sprint.

Jesus this vampire had wasted all of her time to catch up so now she was going to have to actually work to catch up to the lycans and demon that were down in the subway. This was going to be so annoying trying to make up time in order to catch up to beings that were faster on their feet than her and that were physically more capable and superior than her in almost every way. While she was pretty damned strong she knew that all of them would likely beat her in a sprint any day despite the fact she was in shape and ran quite a bit for her training routine.

As the strange woman sprinted down the street she received a few strange looks as she ran along since her combat boots were pounding into the snow, creating scrunching noises that drew quite a bit of attention to her due to the noise level. However, despite the fact that people were staring at her, she continued to run because Meredith wasn't one to stop in her tracks simply because people gave her a funny look. Huge monsters that could kill her with a single smack to the head didn't intimidate her so why would some puny spineless humans that just judged her based on appearance scare her? That was Edith's logic and she was going to stick to it.

People were jerks and just because vampires and lycans were physically different did not make their personalities any different than that of the greedy humans in the world. Because the reality was that they were still human, just in a different body and living a different life but no one's soul completely died from when they were a human and that made them just as guilty as actual humans. Them using humans being disgusting as justification to kill them was digusting especially considering they were formerly human. As for tainted, she didn't give a damn if they'd never been human. They were just as greedy as people whether they would admit it or not. Of course there were good people but there were just as many a** holes out there.

Wolf watched the girl leave, following her scent with his eyes to the subway. The only reason Wolf stayed near this Alasdair guy was because this 'army' idea provoked his curiousity. Of course his youth wouldn't let him have as much power as, say, Ceon. However, Wolf knew quite a few tricks. Alot of them he used to keep himself alive. Wolf didn't know who half the important people in the city were, he just wanted to preserve the lycan race. He wasn't one to hide in the shadows, either.

Marie practically swooned when the boy she’d grown so fond of arrived at her apartment suite. As if he’d dreamt her deepest darkest fantasy alongside her she heard his beautiful voice politely request entrance with his flawless etiquette. She’d also dreamt in her dark fantasy he would come to her in a white tuxedo … Oh how pretty he’d looked afterward. Her Aiden had always been the most beautiful.

“Yes, come in love.”

Aiden allowed himself into the apartment though not through means of the door. Of course, this was all a game to Marie ever since the first time he’d spoken to her. Humans were so weak and disgusting but they were sustenance and incredibly amusing play toys. She found his nonchalance was a turn on and she’d become obsessed with “figuring him out”. Of course, this was the fun part of the game for Aiden and only the beginning.

Marie peeked at him from behind her kitchen counter with her mischievous brown eyes. Her red lockes of hair were the only vibrant feature she possessed.

Her eyes lit with greed the moment her brown eyes caught sight of his white tuxedo from her dream.

“Why hello Aiden! You know I dreamed you’d come to me exactly like this! You must be an angel that can see people’s dreams and fantasies.”

Now it was Aiden’s turn to act though his acting was significantly honed and perfected, superior to her in every way. “I-” He looked down to his feet, ashamed. “I think I’m falling for you, Marie .. You’ve … touched me in ways no one else could …”

Her eyes lit up again when she realized just how perfectly this beautiful had played himself into her hands. She had his heart now and young love was so reckless. The boy would do anything for her if she possessed his heart. “Aiden … really? Is this why you’ve been avoiding me? Oh love, I’ve loved you since the day I met you. I’ve been waiting for this day … Please, don’t be scared …”

She dropped her ebony nightgown to the floor, exposing herself to Aiden. He feigned the shock a seventeen-year-old virgin would have if seeing a woman’s flesh for the first time. “How … how could I be? You’re so .. beautiful.” He lied through his teeth with perfection as he reached out his hand as if he wished to touch her.

Marie easily fell for his bait and closed the distance between them within a matter of seconds and Aiden drew his hand back to draw her further in. Yet again she fell for his bait and silently took hold of his hand and gently led it to her exposed flesh …

His eyes stared into his hungirly and then demanded, “Kiss me, Aiden.”

Aiden mocked hesitation briefly and gradually brought his lips to her and his fun began … He looked into her eyes as he kissed her softly, watching her pleasure contort to terror as he sunk his fangs through her top lip and bottom lip to stifle her scream. She now stared at him wide-eyed with terror as he literally swallowed her scream. A simple internal combustion of her heart and she was perfect …

It was hard to believe but she'd somehow managed it and pulled it off. Sibyl had made it back to New York undetected by her older sister though she was certain Olathe would come looking for her eventually when her sister realized that she had not returned home. It wasn't as though it wasn't obvious that Sibyl would return to New York, especially after seeing the news that her sister had so desperately attempted to hide from her. There were news reports all over about how New York was a mess and Sibyl had a duty to her pack whether or not they'd accept her back for leaving without any goodbyes due to being pulled out by her sister.

The wolf began screening for individual scents and soon enough she managed to pick up a faint trail, Ceon's. She smirked, glad to know that Ceon had managed to keep himself alive and began following his faint trail at a quick pace though not so quick she seemed inhuman. She was an expert tracker and though the trail was a few days old there were still bits and pieces that Sibyl could thread together as she hurried along. Sibyl was worried and concerned about the pack and she was wanting to return to check up on all of them as soon as it was possible so she wasted absolutely no time at all as she ran through the streets.

Eventually the trail led to the subways and though she absolutely hated the thought of being surrounded on all sides after being free and out in the open for so long, she hesitated not. Sibyl wasn't afraid to dive into this one, she was too concerned about her pack and as she drew near the entrance she picked up more familiar scents that convinced her to venture further into the subways.

Wolf watched as an obvious fellow lycan raced right past him into the subway. It sort of angered Wolf, so he decided to follow what just about everyone else did. First, he want into a hardware store and bought some tape. Then he walked into an alleyway and took out one of his katanas and his guitar. Wolf then taped his katana onto the neck of guitar as much as he could without touched the strings. In the end, the katana did work as a good bayonet, but the guitar had tape all over it. He shrugged as the guitar was still playable, and the make-shift bayonet working. Wolf then started playing Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne as he entered the subway.

Meredith was the first of the party to emerge from the subway into the city though she hadn't made the getaway as fast as she possibly could have. It didn't sit well with her to leave the lycans behind but leaving Veroen behind had bothered her more. There were questions that now lingered in her mind and they were troubling her. Why did Veroen care if he drank her blood and killed her as opposed to some other human? Did he have some sort of code of conduct or was she some weird exception for some reason? Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that she and many others had been under the impression that she'd been a vampire for so long. Maybe it didn't sit well with him to eat someone that'd been stuffed with chemicals and had somehow resulted as a temporary vampire kind of thing. Either way she hoped that Veroen made it out of there alive though it wasn't just because she wanted to ask him about his statements down in the subway.

As she walked up the stairs and took a take of the city she restrapped her axe across her back. She wasn't in the greatest mood since she was dwelling and muddling over the events in the subway but she decided that thinking about it was only going to stress her out and distract her so she shoved those thoughts aside.

Instead she decided that she was going to go for a walk to cool and calm herself down like she so often did when everything seemed to be in a tizzy. She began her walk by simply strutting along the sidewalk, keeping out of people's way though there weren't exactly many people out at this time of night anyhow. While walking she noticed that her hearing still seemed to be muted and that was when she happened to notice a liquid that was beginning to dry in her ears. She brought her gloved hand up to each ear to investigate the substance and surely enough she found a bit of blood in each.

'Holy s**t that thing must've been loud ... It probably partially popped my friggin' ear drum ... wait ... what the ******** does a bleeding ear mean?'

While she knew she was probably more than qualified to go get her ear checked out she didn't really feel like dealing with a doctor right now. Of course that was for different reasons that didn't involve her ear at all but she really needed a walk before she started thinking too much about other things that'd gone shitty in her life. She needed some time to wind down, some time where she could just have some time to herself to have fun and be care free. To not care about the world and all her problems that she'd now gotten herself into. She would face them eventually but for now she was content with putting off the inevitable.

Daiguren stopped next to Meredith his demonic tails the last of his demon form disappearing, "Thats the true power of the Alpha lycan, I've seen just a glimpse of it once before. Theres no way that can be controlled or reasoned with." His breathing calmed down as he spoke his eyes style a bright golden staring a the ground. He started to walk off mutering to himself about getting stronger again but he didn't know how.

Stan was to first to notice people exiting the subway. Of course, he recognized Meredith at first, the picture he was carrying around of her made sure of that. He did also happen to catch the demon as he transformed back, but he averted his eyes furtively as if he hadn't even looked. The NYPD had records on just about everyone these days, and if they didn't... they could find it. Having friends in the department, rather old friends of Stan's brother, obviously helped with information gathering. The huntress had quite the record, and it made Stan question how healthy of a decision it would be to tail the girl. Then again, Meredith was likely the only high-ranking hunter actively running around the city, and as far as Stan was concerned she needed to be kept safe. Or at least safer.

He flicked his cigarette into the trash can at the corner. His movements were subtle and his attire normal. He seemed like any other New Yorker as far as anyone was concerned. That was your best position when tailing. Stan wore a generic white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of black sneakers. He kept himself warm with a University of Chicago zipper-hood jacket and a black, small-brimmed ski hat on top of his head. A pair of stylish horn-rimmed glasses were near perfectly adjusted in front of his eyes, being only slightly crooked from being smacked around by immortals.

He allowed Meredith to pass him on the sidewalk. He breathed out his visible breath into his cold, pale hands in an attempt to achieve warmth. Stan bought a hot dog from a concession stand, pulling off the look of late night commuter before heading off in Meredith's same direction. He did take a look at the tainted who was walking away though, and felt all the more secure at the sensation of his Glock 37 in it's shoulder rig, the firearm's side prodding his ribs in a figurative buddy-buddy fashion.

Meredith wasn't really paying close attention to her surroundings, she was just walking to walk and if she got lost it'd be another reason to take a hell of a long time to walk back and face her problems. Of course, she wasn't really planning to get lost but she wasn't trying to stay on any particular course either. Being by your onsie really gave you that sense of freedom that you'd always wanted when you were a kid and yet now that she had it she found that she was just constantly praying that something would turn up; An immortal she could rightfully shoot in the face, a hunter that she could talk to, someone she could kill, someone she could hang out with. Just someone because the silence was starting to drive her absolutely bonkers.

Seeing as she wasn't technically 'on-duty' since the press and the FBI had things covered for the most part, she decided to slip her head phones over her ears. Yeah maybe people thought headphones were 'old school' but they were a hell of a lot more comfortable than ear buds and she was friggin' twenty for God's sake, she was too young to be considered 'old school'. She adjusted the head phones and decided that she'd actually turn on some music as opposed to just wearing them for show and in the hopes that some dumb-a** immortal would sneak up on her thinking that she couldn't hear them. She brought out her zune and her finger gently ran across the pad as the cursor glided down her vast list of music.

The huntress decided to stop the cursor on Gary Jules - Mad World and she cranked the volume up as she walked along. Her combat boots padded against the ground in the same tempo that the song was and she reached into the pocked of her black trench coat and her gloved fingers pulled out a carton of cigarettes. The other hand reached into the breast pocket and pulled out a silver lighter that was engraved with a fancy celtic cross of sorts. She brought the lighter to the cigarette and with a click and a spark the lighter roared to life and brought her cig to life too.

After lighting her cig she stuck it in her mouth and juggled her things around, depositing the carton back in her right pocket and slipping the lighter back into her breast pocket, taking a drag as she did so. She then took the cigarette between her middle and pointer finger, slipping it out of her mouth and exhaling the smoke in a ring. As she continued to walk with the tempo of her song it was clear that she was horribly bored and didn't give too much of a damn. Her boots occasionally scuffed and scraped against the sidewalk, her free hand was running against the rough exterior of the building she was walking next to. Everything about her seemed lethargic somehow, like she'd stopped caring.

As she passed the building her hand searched for something else to do and it found her dark purple aviators and adjusted those. The dried blood on her fingers had mostly caked off as she'd ran her hand along the building but some still remained clinging to her glove. She didn't care enough to do anything about it, she was more than accustomed to blood by now. Nah, she was just walking, walking to chill out and get away from the harsh reality of life.

Stan watched her. Taking a small bite of his chili dog every now and then, but making sure they were small enough in order to conserve. You never knew when a good piece of meat could become useful. Stan had once outrun a rabid pit bull simply by using a hot dog to divert it enough for him to scale a chain-link fence. The psychologist didn't want to kill the poor animal. She seemed young. She probably was but she also seemed lonely beyond the years of her life, or at the very least extremely bored and prone to completely zoning out.

It would be dangerous to test the theory. Whether she was entirely zoned out or not; it could only be tested in one way and one way only. Stan didn't want and for good reason. A hunter, or at least a person who knew of the immortals, or at the very least had seen a lot of battle could not possibly zone out in full. It was impossible because it spelled death. Stan didn't want to seem apprehensive, it could end dire, and then no one would know of his true intentions. He took a few longer paces, catching up by about half way, passing the rest of his hot dog to a random homeless man. Stan was thanked but he promptly walked off with a nod and continued on in a hurry.

He wasn't going to come up directly from behind. As aforementioned that would be terribly retarded. Instead, Stan came up from the side as if he were planning to pass her. He didn't. The hunter turned his head and gestured for her to remove her headphones. "Don't you think it's a tad bit late to be running around the city, much less in the direction you're going?"
