Vela was sitting on the edge of a couch, watching the flickering flame. Seeing Sam, Vela's eyes sparked just a bit. Someone she recognized. Good. Getting up, she wandered her way over to the bar, and refilled her cup of coffee. The humming was peaceful. Much more soothing to her than the piano. HOpefully, he would not stop. His voice was pleasant, if not a bit feminine.

Sam continued to hum, which slowly turned into singing as he started making toast. Was that a hint of Sophie leaking through his vocal cords? He spun on one foot and froze when his eyes fell on Vela, nearly falling over onto the floor. "Ah!" He stopped singing suddenly and blushed, looking at the floor. "G-Good afternoon." He murmured, looking back to his reflection in the metal toaster.

"Don't be so clumsy." her voice aired, more of a suggestion than a command, which was odd. But, she had her hunches. There was something that Sam was not saying! It was irritating. Taking her coffee cup, she walked back over to lay on the floor, and stare up at the rafters.

Sam nodded and nearly jumped when his toast popped. How did she sneak up on him like that? "Need anything?" He asked as he dropped the bread on the plate and started to butter it. He was also thirsty, but decided on a glass of milk instead of caffeine.

The smell of the warm bread invading her nostrils, Vela sat up for a minute. "Make more toast." she said, voice just loud enough to carry over to him. Cinnamon and sugar on buttered toast sounded better than any food had in days. Sipping at her coffee, she waited for Sam to comply. Such a jumpy kid!

Sam just grunted in acknowledgement, seeming to scrape his personality back up from off the floor. He set his toast to the side and put in two new slices. Was using manners painful for this woman? Or was she just cursed from using the words 'please', 'thank you', and 'you're welcome'?

Vela stood, coming over to the bar, and walking behind it, past him. It wasn't like she asked him to prepare it! That was ridiculously kind of her. She might as well say something rude to even it out, but she did not. Instead, she retrieved the sweet powders that she needed for her toast, as well as taking the butter dish from him. While waiting for the toast, she also got down a plate, and waited.

River yawned In sheer boredom, sitting in her room with a mildly annoyed expression. It was indeed a bad morning- not that the night brought her any pleasure. Standing form her chair she looked down at the small plain doll, no hair no clothing. She was putting a mouth onto the thing. Blinking down at it she realized this doll didn't have a gender; What should it be? Male? Female? The eyes would help with that later. Setting the small thing down she cleared her throat and opened her door quietly, closing it in just the same manner. "Kids.." She mumbled softly to herself Eyes hollowing out to almost nothing. She would try to be in a thoughtfull mood today that or a thought Filled mood. Which she could feel coming on- As Annoyed as she was her thoughts always made her extremely Emotionless and on more then one case easily angered for no reason. Silently she stepped down the stairs, just skimming the room that emitted a smell that made her less then enthusiastic about going down stairs. Her ghostly steps halted as her brain brought her to another thought, maybe-naw. She continued and when she stepped down she slowly made her way towards the bar where she would make herself coffee.

Sam stood back to give her room to prepare as he enjoyed his toast. He sat up on the counter top as he ate and leaned back against the cabinet. "I found out you're the sister of the owner's fiancee." He began, deciding to chance conversation, "Is that why you're here?"

Vela blinked up, over the rim of her cup of coffee. Setting it down, and taking the toasted bread out, she made a frown. "She's marrying him? Nn. But, no. I do not like weddings." she said, as she spread the butter, and sprinkled the concoction of toppings, and put away the ingredients. Retiring to the bar, she munched on a peace, and almost drooled at the sweet perfection.

Blinking River stood in front of the pot, stared down at it with confusion. Who else drinks coffee? Maybe she can make more for them. Looking around finally her eyes Hit Sam, no he doesn't drink coffee, then the Woman, Vela. Does she? Possibly so since she does have a cup for it. "More coffee?" River offered her as she picked the pot up, if she poured herself a cup she'd make more for Vela if she wanted more. But for now she was paused in her action.

Sam nodded, "So I heard. I mean, I'm not going to pretend I know everything becaue I've only been here a few days." He said with a shrug, "The owner seems like a nice person and your sister is very pretty. They look like they're really in love with each other."

Ah, yes. Someone was going to make more coffee. "Yes." she said cooly, with a curt nod, before taking another munch of toast. Her sister? In love? Isn't that what she'd said about the first man from Vela's legion? Wasn't it.. Victor? He was an awful man. Scoffing at Sam, Vela was about to spit out some remark about 'love'. But, she only shook her head. "Yeah." she said, busying herself by drinking more coffee.

River nodded to her with a small smile pouring the rest into a cup setting the pot back into the machine and preparing the coffee in the quickest way she could beause she too was going to drink more if she was up to it when it was finished. Pulling out the filter she threw it away and placed a new one in. This process took all but a minute or so before she had it going again, hissing and sizzling before the newly mixed coffee was started to trickle into the pot. Intaking a long breath she sighed it out placing the cup to her lips and sipping on it. It was a quiet day, aside from Sam's remarks on Tomo and Cass' wedding. She shruged it off not like she would attend such a thing without being forced."Good morning Sam." River remarked calmly setting her cup down to watch the liquid inside it.

Sam dangled his legs over the edge of the counter. "I'm guessing you don't like her man choice?" He asked, trying to read her expression. It was hard when she seemed disgusted all of the time. Also the fact that he was very far from empathic didn't help, either.
