Cool Now to wait till my tau starter shows up. i now know im gonna need a lot more white. they whole set drones and suit took a 1/3 of my white paint and a 1/4 of my green. and roughly half my thinner to clean the brushes with

one suit took that much paint!!!! what is your color scheme. i dont remember using that much paint on my. course, i used the GW airbrush stuff for my primary color. i love that thing. makes painting fire warriors and kroot a lot easier.

I have a question about the codex primarily about the Crisis battle suit body guads and Shas'o. Am I ONLY allowed to have three guns and/or systems or can I have more than?

Sorry, only three hard-points per model. Fortunetly, most support systems have hard-wired equivalents. This means you can absolutely top a commander or bodyguard up with weapons and get the support systems from the armoury.

yeah. i have a shas'o that is worth like 190 points. iridium armor, stim injector, sheild generator, drone controller, plasma rifle, missle pod....HE IS AWESOME. and if i give him body guards, watch out!!! i have never lost him to firing. i say that because i have lost him to scatering before. wer came up with random drop rules for a scenario once and he crashed into a hill side before the game even started.

and to GamerChick240, a clarification. if you have two of the same weapon they HAVE to be twin-linked. that means that two burst cannons can only fire three re-rolls, not six single rolls. i tried that once with a three man team. the thought of 18 shots from a three man team just seemed too juciy......but the same team now fires 9 re-rolls at a BS of 4+ depending on how many markerlights i use. still pretty juciy.

okay thanks another question the Stealth teams say I can pick some battle suit wargear, it says I can pick one and if I do that then I can pick more for each team member but things like the stealth field generator that says I have to have this for all my team.. is that it or do I still get two more?

and yes i know i'm a mega noob but please humor me i'm about to debute my Tau and are a little nevrous

good news. you dont have to worry about stealth field generators because stealth suits have them built in. Wargear and support systems are two totally different things. if one member takes a support system, then the whole team HAS to take a support system as well. however, they dont all have to be the same. one can have a sheild generator, one can have a drone controller, and one can have a targeting array. you get the picture.

wargear is something that only a TEAM LEADER can take and it forgoes such requirements. if you have the team take support systems, then the tean lead can alos take other things listed in the wargear section. also, if you decide not to have support systems, the team lead can still take systems listed under wargear, like drone controllers, target locks, blacksun filters, etc.

any more questions, gamerchik? I'm no expert, but i think i can answer most questions about the Tau. i have been playing with them for some time now.

Pathfinders. Always Pathfinders. Vespids are glass cannons with only one purpose and, in most lists, you can fill that role with cheaper troops and Kroot.

Vespids are pretty damn useful in city fighting, goddamn useless in anything else though.

i agree with the others. Those railrifles are pretty dang awesome. Especially eince those three also have target locks, allowing them to shoot at other units near by. I usually use my squad as anti-character patrols.

I was mostly worried about finding a good Space Marine hunter squad. In matters of range, it was fleet jump troops or long-range pinning shots. With the high leadership, Space Marines aren't likely to pin easily. The problem with Vespids would be the low armour. Mind you, target locks are an added bonus. The cost of a tank was a bitter pill to manage, but the extra Seeker Missles are helpful to stop big enemies.
