Tests.
Maia looked for Toby, eyes widening slightly. "I..." Bleh. Tests. "I guess?" Would Toby get her out of this?

Toby reached out, offering Maia his arms. She looked frightened, but from a professional standpoint he had to agree. This could be huge.
"Toby can come with you. It's just a little blood draw, maybe a hair sample, and then the docs will take it from there."

Maia took Toby's hand. Blood tests didn't sound like a little thing. "Why is this so important?" She asked. She leaned against Toby. "I'm sure there's more than just me."

"Well, that's the point," Lori continued, growing more animated as he spoke, "If you're a hybrid then there must be others, or at least there have been others in the past, but you, you'd be the first one ever discovered, and that's huge."
Toby kissed her ear. "Lucy's a great blood draw. You don't feel a thing."
"You don't have to, but this could be our only chance." No, Lori was not above pleading.

Maia looked at Toby, then at Lori. "Alright," she agreed. Their only chance, huh? And Lori really did seem interested. "Go rest, Lori," she said, hugging him. "We can talk about tests when you feel better."

"Mmhm. Thank you." Lori took Maia's hand and kissed it, then turned to Dari.
"Are you ready to be chauffeured, Sir?" Dari asked, smiling.
"If it's not too much trouble."
"Of course not. Just let me get my projector."

Luca was waiting for Lori outside his house, arms crossed. Maia had told him everything--and even though it was great Lori was so selfless, why couldn't he have let the selkie stay sick?

Uh-oh. "God damn it..." Lori mumbled. So Maia had told Luca anyway. Maybe he deserved it for springing hybridism on her so quickly.
"Do you want me to come with you?" Dari asked.
Lori shook his head. "No, thanks." Besides, if he fell over Dari wouldn't be able to catch him, just cushion the fall. "Thanks for the ride."
"Of course."
Lori used the car door to get up and out and walked a bit slowly, a bit unevenly toward Luca. He pulled out his keys and unlocked the door without saying a word.

Luca followed him inside, moving in front of Lori and hugging him. "Your selkie friend squealed," he said. "You need to rest." He directed Lori to the couch. He kissed his cheek. "You okay?"

Lori accepted the hug. "Yeah, I know. She almost called you to come get me." He walked to the couch without much fight and laid down. Ah, that felt nice. "Mm-hm. I'm fine. Healing is draining, that's all. I'll be a hundred percent by tomorrow." Probably even later today.
Rosie trotted over and sniffed Luca, then Lori's face. Lori petted her.
"You really don't have to be here. I'm fine."

"I want to be here," Luca said, brushing at Lori's hair with a hand. He sat on the edge of the couch, looking over his boyfriend. Healing business was clearly dangerous. "I'm off for the weekend, so I can look after you."

Lori smiled brightly and propped himself up to steal a little kiss.
"You're too sweet. Do you want to watch a movie or something? I'm really gonna be fine."

Instead of going straight to Med bay on Monday, Maia and Toby stopped by research. She wanted to see her favorite cat sidhe before whatever tests they were going to do. Hair samples and blood draws and the like. "Seamus? Here kitty," She called, looking for him.

There came a 'meow' from a back desk and Seamus came tiptoeing over. Maia had given him cake. She was definitely one of his favorites. When he arrived before them, he meowed again.

Maia bent down to pet him. "Hi kitty," she greeted. "I have to go to med bay in just a bit, but I thought I'd come see you." Maybe he'd come with? She stood and took Toby's hand.
She was still hesitant, but she said, "Ready to go?"
