Tybalt Steele I have only one demand of this tournament: That someone kill Sephiroth in the first round. Seriously, how the ******** did he make it in to the tournament? With lots of revisions. At this point, it's up to him to make Sephiroth into a believable canon character who doesn't try to godhax everything or cut through giant tubes like he did in Crisis Core. I'm hoping he doesn't disappoint me, being a canon player myself.

Garam Nijashi Hikuro ...Anyone else wanna slap me around in the ballroom ? Kinda...yeah. Only if we can time-hax it though. I'm not giving up on Cog.

I have issues with people who play already existing characters that they didn't create. It just implies a lack of creativity, which in turn implies a lack of roleplaying skill. I'm not saying that all the people who do this are bad roleplayers, just a lot of them that I've encountered are.
I also have issues with FFVII fanboys(It wasn't that good! Why is it so popular?), but that has little to no bearing on how good of a roleplayer someone is.

Well, at least playing the character in a meaningful way that goes beyond just doing random things is difficult. That's pretty much why most people suck at it.

But a good canon roleplayer of existing characters is a roleplayer who knows how to roleplay. It's no different from you roleplaying a character you created yourself. All you're doing is taking on the personality, mannerisms, and background of a character other than yourself. And if you can do it correctly, you're a good roleplayer regardless of whether the character is original or pre-existing.
So give lil Sephiroth a chance.

I always figured that being able to play a canon character correctly showed a GREAT amount of skill.
Vintrict, with all his faults, is probably one of the best people I've ever seen do a canon character.

Playing your character = roleplaying.
Playing someone else's character = acting.

There really isn't much of a different imo.
You assume the role of a character, personality, history, abilities, thoughts in both cases.
