The girl's capacity to defend herself was appreciable, and this simply drew KB that much closer. His blades deflected he simply drew back a step, before pushing forwards once more. A similar style would be followed, though the right blade fell from high towards her left shoulder, the left blade waiting until she'd shifted her weapon before thrusting upwards to lightly jab beside her head. He wasn't aiming to hit her with the second blade, but rather to keep her focus as he pressed forwards.

KB was cocky and saw nothing to fear in her weapon, and so he made as if to steer her. Trying to make her move back towards the nearest wall so that he might trap her and assure his own manuveurability, his dance proved to be both clumsy and graceless as he augmented it. It seemed that without the lethal motions it was incomplete, the latter adjustment causing a weakness in the flurry of slashes to come.

Tijae might have appreciated her own movements, had she the time to, or even realized what she was doing. It seemed to come from somewhere within her, possibly bound to those forgotten memories. Due to this, she was easily distracted.

As he was drew back a step, Tijae fell into his plans unintentionally as she took a step backwards herself, not realizing that there was a wall behind her only a few paces back. She had extra senses, but they were still new enough that she couldn't usde them well while fighting with someone.

As the first blade came back in for another blow, she moved to defend with the blade of the maki, wincing at the pain in the shallow cut that was caused by the movement. Shallow it may have been, but Tijae was still fairly new to pain. But she would work through it, her left hand gripping the staff like weapon near the bladed edge, with her shadowed arm holding near the bottom as she ducked down, unintentionally avoiding the jab beside her head and slamming the blunt staff into his side as she pivoted and aimed to get on his side, so she could break free and run.

(( I actually need to run for a bit, but I will return! ))

The smell of blood perhaps? That would be icing on the cake for this fell-wyrm, his efforts unhindered by repeated failure. His blades fround only air to slice, her weapon finding his exposed side. His dead nerves registered nothing save the distant and dull feeling of sudden pressure, the shaft of her weapon slamming into his hardened flesh. Though the counter-attack was useless as far as destroying him was concerned, it did allow her to move ast him and begin to run.

KB would pivot on his heel then, turning about to face her retreating form. His left hand would c**k back as he pulled up his arm, before throwing forth his longsword at her unguarded back. It was a simple movement to throw the thing at her, hoping to land the point deep in her back. The power of the blades to stab through most things was always a charm, and so he hoped that he might have the pleasure of impaling her. Of course there was a chance of her escaping this fate, and so he gave chase with his right sword in hand, ready to retrieve the tossed one with his now free hand if need be.

Long swords aren't really meant for hurling through air, so Tijae wasn't really expecting it, but the 'man' had already proven himself capable of doing things even most Gaians wouldn't be able to, and that worried her, so even running away, she wasn't going to run blindly ahead, instead her head would turn sideways as if to watch him while she ran, one of the few abilities she had figured out was that in darkness, she had a greater peripheral vision than most people. And that helped her avoid that sword he threw at her, although she kept running even after dodging it.

She was scared and between that and the pain, she wasn't doing so hot. Maybe if she knew how to use the abilities that Pho and Pha said she had, it would have been different, instead she was merely running for her life, but she'd be damned before she'd call for their help.

"Promise not to kill me and I'll stop"
,
Her thoughts echoed through the shadows to where even KB could hear them. She wasn't sure how she'd got that ability, but she would comply with that though. It hurt to run, even if she had abilities, she couldn't use them unless the memory pushed to the front and allowed her to.

She wasn't sure why but the whole thing smacked of something personal. It was one thing to chase a meal, but to do it with such monstrosity, that was beyond her current understanding, although it was something that Pho and Pha had mentioned. That she had been worse than anything she could imagine. Maybe she was wrong though, maybe it wasn't personal and she'd die before she could find him again. "NO!"

That too echoed through the shadows as she stopped and turned around fully. She wouldn't run, she'd be scared, but she knew that redhead knew something about her, just like she knew she used to be a lot more than she was now. She would not die by the hand of some blond GQ model. She looked back and realized she had gotten further ahead of him than she expected. She had a moment or two to regain her composure. Was she faster than she thought as well?

Not entirely alone. Maximos' fat chickie looked rather confused and so took to rolling back and forth like a ball on the table.

--

The Shadow's only thoughts were a big apology. He had to tell her...something. But if he told her the truth...how would she react? What was he even thinking? Why should she even be there after something so traumatic...

That last look of shock on her face as she jumped back...he felt like every bit the monster he was afraid of becoming.

Size 12 shoes carried him through the cafe and directly into the mens room. To be sure, he moved into one of the handicapped stalls in the back. The sound of rushing water coming from the faucet a second or two later.

First to come off was his glove, peeling off was more accurate, it struck the sink with a wet smack. Second was his wrappings the bandages were stained with everything from black, to off-white, to gray signifying various stages of soak. Either way the wrapping was discarded revealing a set of dark black burns in the shape of runes, burned on permanent runes. Some of the burns still seeping a bit of the black. A few loose paper towels and Maximos freed himself of that, reaching into his side pocket to pull a fresh set of wraps. He would clean the glove, then re-wrap his arm and step outside.

His hesitated for a moment at the door out of the mens room. If he stepped outside looking down, and she as there, everything was spiral downward. He took a deep breath, rolled down his damp, yet clean sleeve. And stepped outside.

As he exited the cafe to the seating area, it looked like absolutely nothing had happened. He looked just as calm as when they first met. His eyes immediately meeting Ms. Acacia as he moved to the seat, slid it back and sat down.

So sorry that took so long.

He said with that same perk on his voice.

I should have been more careful.

His arm twitched once.

Are you ok?

Acacia felt relieved to see him come out looking like he was fine but worry was still written on her face as he looked at her. He seemed very casual about the whole thing of coarse neither wanted to make a scene.
"I'm fine I was more worried about you, there was black stuff on the table from your arm, are you hurt?" She pushed his coffee to him, wanting to move closer again but decided against it. She still wasn't sure what happened, it was over so fast she was confused and she still felt a little startled.
"What happened?"

I'm fine.

He said with a bright smile. His arm twitched twice as he scooped up his cup, taking a small sip before placing it down and patting his lip with the napkin in his left.

I suppose, I should explain...

He placed the cup down gently, laying both hands on the table. His right hand tapping the table as he tried to put together the words, before he lifted the gloved limb, palm up.

Its cursed. I tried to enchant it with the ability to touch spirits, like my eye can see them. But it failed, the markings scarred my arm, and the bone became...different.

He knocked his arm against the umbrella rod in the center of the table making an audible ding. Like metal clanging against metal. His arm even hummed for a moment as he brought it back, as the vibration echoed down the limb.

Now it hungers for souls instead of passively touching them. I can usually control it but...

His smile shifted to a somewhat bashful smirk, his hand reaching back to scratch the back of his head.

...well you sort of scared me.

Acacia looked slightly relieved when he assured her he was fine and inched ever so slightly closer in her seat to listen to his explenation. It was possibly the most morbid thing she'd heard all day even though he sounded sort of cheerful while he said it, her expression was puzzled and sort of wide eyed making her look slightly adorable, especially when one of her ears twitched. Finally when Maximos grinned bashfully and said she scared him she couldn't hold back a small giggle which grew until she stiffled it with a sip of her drink.
"Imagine a tall guy like you being scared of little me." Acacia was anything but intimidating, at a height of only 5"4 and weighing only 105lb she was overall very small though she did have definite muscle definition. She smiled and leaned in closer to him again smiling sweetly, almost bordering on flirtatious.
"I'm glad you're okay."

The blade would clatter harmlessly before simply exploding into a plume of twisting dark fog, hints of purple in the black fumes that roiled from the spot. Such energy dissipated within moments, leaving only the bare streetspot and the girl turned to face him. KB himself simply shrugged, allowing the point of his sword to rest upon the street, his hand grasping the hilt much like a cane.

With a dramatic sigh he stretched, his head leaning back and his mouth opening in a nearly erotic display. The fangs there only gently hinted outwards, his eyes fluttering open softly as he gazed off into the sky above. "Mm..." he murmurred to himself, sparing her the slightest of glances. His eyes simply slid to her form, curiously taking sight of it even as his head lowered.

The tension of his body seemed to cling despite his attempt to be rid of it, his stance still holding subtle hints of a noble posture. Loosening up for this undead statue-esque being proved to be quite the chore. "Tell me, dearest. Am I to chase you endlessly now like some schoolboy with a crush, offering bugs and frogs... or are you going to be a good little girl and keep still?" His words naturally were in a format similar to her own, though the underlying place of shadow served simply as a familiar tool.

Perhaps he might even learn Tijae's name sometime during the night.

"Imagine a tall guy like you being scared of little me."

Those ears, the way they twitched. The look on her eyes, that puzzled wonderment. He regretted the fact his scarf was missing, it could hide blush so very well. As opposed to his pale skin which let his rosy cheeks show so very clearly. So instead, he tried to laugh off his nervousness.

Indeed. Imagine, that! Hehehaha.

Which was about as see through as can be, and so he immediately grabbed the cup, trying to drink away the blush. Which of course, as she came closer...failed horribly. He put down the empty cup, his cheeks He was entirely too naive to pick on the almost flirtatious vibes, though he could tell something was up, and it made his cheeks about as red as the blood in his veins. Though he didnt pull away at all.

She sighed; in her mind you didn't talk to food unless you were either desperately bored or insane. And while she hadn't completely written off the insane part, she decided to hope for the best. With her abilities locked away like this, she was pretty much screwed otherwise.

Her response to his question, "Are you going to kill me?" She had no illusions, if he decided to, her death was almost certainly imminent. Every line of her body was tense, from the tip of her head, to the bottom of her toes. She was pretty; the body was too young to be voluptuous thanks to Sunstrike's magic, but it was an elegant sort of beauty that seemed heightened by fear.

"I won't run if you promise not to kill me." Simplistic logic to be sure, but her brain wasn't exactly working on the higher levels right now. The whole flight or fight thing, ya know.

"I just want... a nibble." He concluded, nodding to her to enforce the sentiment. If anything creatures of the night were masters of the silver-tongued art, and so he would seem quite sincere. Not that he expected this lovely little morsel to trust him, but a devilish flick of the wrist brought the blade to bare in a charming display.

It would vanish similarly to that before it, but in its place would be a simple gift. A freshly trimmed rose of the white variety, to break both his color-scheme and the cliche'. With any luck the girl would understand the symbolic nature of the color he'd chosen, and be somewhat less intimidated by his obvious desire for her. Sure she may have seemed young to most, but by KB's standards she'd long since expired. This monster preferred his meat younger, sweeter, purer.

Extending his hand he offered the flower to the far girl, though it was obvious he expected her to move to him. Were he to advance he'd surely make subtle mistakes, his feral posture still locked into his clammy and chilled muscles despite the attempt to appear more comely. "You have my word as a gentleman, I won't kill you." He vowed this happily, soft-spoken. He would not kill her, to kill her would be such a horrible waste...

"Well, I'm not big on torture either ya know." Unless it's under the right circumstances, anyways. There was the glint in the one eye that said that under those circumstances, not only would she be big on it, she'd relish it. But she didn't really even understand that about herself, that her true soul was a lot darker than the body and mind she had currently. In many ways, she was still a child.

Tijae glanced down at the rose, and chuckled; despite the dangerous environment she was in now. "Come now, I think the white is a bit much....I know not your name, nor you mine..." Her lips lifting in a quirk and obvious challenge. "I may be pure in body, but my mind is old enough to take exception." She still hadn't moved.

Acacia took a long sip from her coffee, despite the warmth of the sun she still felt a little chilly and the warm beverage warmed her very core and made her feel at ease again. Maximos still didn't look fully recovered however, she could tell he was nervous.
"Are you sure you're feeling alright Mr.Maximos? You look flushed." She reached up to brush the backs of the fingers on her right hand against his cheek to check if he was warm, her fingers were cool and soft, they never seemed to warm up even after clutching her warm coffee.

Heheh ha ha ha ha!

His nervous laughter just sort of stretched a little longer than it should have.

Oh, he he, I'm....

Her hand reached out to touch his cheek, and it was rather warm. Maximos always had a high body temperature, but this was on the verge of breaking into a full sweat.

...f-f-fine! Really!

He said, scooting his right arm under the table. He wouldnt be dumb enough to let it slip again, but if it did...he wanted to be the first to know. It took a moment to look past the nervous shakes, but thats about when he realized exactly how cool her hand was. For a moment the nervousness seemed to melt off as he reached his left hand up to hers. Perhaps all it took was concern for someone else to derail his fears.

He gently pulled the hand from his face, leaving her fingers to grace over his with thumb holding them in place.

Your cold...

He said in a concerned tone. His right hand slipping up from under the table laying over hers.

Is everything alright?

Deep inside, he hoped it wasnt something he had done.
