Oh hey guys, I just got in trouble on my main account by the staff. The reason is hilarious.

We have staff forums and threads where we can say random things or vent. Well, apparently my venting is too negative and it makes other mods uncomfortable. Especially hilarious is that most of my "naughty posts" that were quoted back at me were ones where I was criticizing Gaia. Now, I know that Mods aren't supposed to question/bash Gaia in the public forums but these threads are there for mods to supposedly hang out, say what we feel, etc. I guess that's not really true. Not anymore. I'm so pissed right now. Getting a PM like that certainly doesn't make me feel more "cheerful" and "happy". Apparently, when I used to be naive chipper and happy, I was an asset to moderating and to the Gaia community. I suppose what they're saying now is that now I'm not? I do my ******** job as a mod and I know what the hell I'm doing but I guess I'm not an "asset" to the site unless I'm kissing the a** of the office and farting rainbows wherever I go.

The worst part of this? The way this was presented to me makes it appear like MULTIPLE mods had "brought this to their attention". Are you ******** kidding me? You know, these threads aren't official staff threads. I'm being reported for my "tone" and "opinions"? You know, there is a group of annoying mods that fawn over lady gaga in those threads but do I report them because that annoys me and I don't like it? No. I don't. A huge part of why modding isn't what is used to be is other mods. Going behind each other's back reporting them and trying to get them in trouble at every damned opportunity. I'm upset at something Gaia did or something in general and it makes them "uncomfortable?" If their skin is that thin, how are they even capable of being a mod given the crap we get from users on a daily basis? How can me being upset about something make someone uncomfortable? I'm not mad at them specifically, calling them out or mentioning them in any way. What the hell? I guess "big brother" is watching no matter where I post. Even in threads that are supposed to be for venting and hanging out. Hell, I'm sure they'll stalk me somehow and find this too. I hope it's not too negative for them. rolleyes

I mean, it's a RANT thread and I was RANTING! One of the suggestions made to me was "taking a break from modding". That makes me feel like they don't want my help. Hey, I haven't done much/any modding in 2 weeks anyways. I didn't mod on vacation and I haven't modded this week either. I make more gold with my fish tanks than I do with reports anyways. Sure, I could step down but why give them that satisfaction?

I've decided that I'm going to try not to post in the random thread or the blow up thread much if at all. I'd love to know who these mods were that had a problem with me. Staff won't tell me, of course. I can guess at least one of them though. You'd think mods would have something better to do than complain to the admins about me being negative. You know, I just had my 4 year Mod anniversary in early October but I guess that doesn't mean much, eh?

See, this is one thing that annoys me. This is not a complaint on my actual modding work. Just some negative crap I say in casual threads.

If I had been going all "oh, Gaia's going to do what it wants regardless of consequence". In an official staff forum, they'd have an argument. Am I negative? Surely I am. My personality changed after I had the miscarriage years ago. However, I still answer my PM's and I still did reports and all that sort of thing. Have I been negative about things Gaia is doing? Certainly I am. They're becoming less and less fun and farther away from the site I used to enjoy so much. Add to that the fact that the office is so unorganized that it didn't even know that a site it invested in and is affiliated with/developing for the foreign market was advertising that it was associated with Gaia.

Who wouldn't kind of go confused at that!?

Taking a break doesn't mean you aren't good at modding or that your detractors are right if you're doing it on your own terms.
