I actually think that's an awesome idea, Kroot Renegades. It makes sense that some would decide they don't follow the Tau philosophy after all (or just saw through the propoganda), and acted out against it.

actually. if you know the true background of the kroot, those that interact with the tau are a very small number of the race. they go to great legths to ensure that those kroot are the only ones that the tau find. true kroot are indeed mercinaries. i wish that GW would realease a codex for them.

I really like the Tau. I like how they remind me of the Protoss. Although, the Protoss know how to Melee, but that's alright. I know they're not one of the more popular armies, but I might just expand more on my Tau army. :]
I mean, I have some units already, why not get more? ^^

True enough. I've got a 500ish point force laid out that I want to put together for Tau at some point in the future.
Also, the Protoss are based on the Eldar. Zealots are Banshees, Dragoons are Wraith Constructs, their airships all draw inspiration from the Eldar ships.
Also, at one point Blizzard put out a thank you to GW for not suing them based on intellectual property violation.

I mean, the Zerg and the Tyranids have more in common, in my opinion. Then again, I do believe that SC draws very heavily from the Aliens movie.

So does Warhammer 40k. And I said inspiration, not full rip off (which would have warranted a lawsuit).

For a standard suit: Missile Pod Plasma Rifle Multi-Tracker
Then, the name of the game is wound allocation. If you have a unit of Crisis Suits, make sure that none of them have the same equipment. Do that by changing around weapons, making something TL, etc. If you make it TL, you can drop the Multi-Tracker in favor of another weapon or Targeting Array to make it a hard shooting sombitch.

If u often face off against imperial guard, then burst cannons are invaluable. I have a 3 suit team outfitted with twin-linked burst cannons and targeting arrays. 9 re-rolls at BS 4+. so awesome. for the other beffier armys, like caledidah said missle pods and rifles are about the only thing you can do.

If there's one thing I learned from facing IG with Tau it's this: Railguns make a Leman Russ into a terrain feature.

Well becaus ei have the one standard crisis im gonna try to mod him using parts form my armored core models and gundam models that are broke. so he will be uber cool looking!
or he will end up looking like a hodge podge but meh its part of kit bashing!!!!
edit: I just gave him a running pose instead. can a crisis be armed with a burst cannon missles a drone controler and shield or no? i hated the look of the one empty hardpoint so i mounted the sheild generator on it

Sorry, only three hard-points per Suit. Unless your afraid of enemy weapons punching through the suits armour, I'd skip the Shield Generator.

Necron_Pariah can a crisis be armed with a burst cannon missles a drone controler and shield or no? i hated the look of the one empty hardpoint so i mounted the sheild generator on it actually, you can do that. if he is a team lead he can have the drone controller as war gear. thats what i love about those guys.
