i don't think i'm better than everybody else, i just think nobody researches their instrument.(this has been proven by the over-abundance of ignorance regarding the clarinet)

You people dont get it do you?
Being an elitist and being honest is two completely different things.
If you cant handle being corrected then just get over yourself.

When a note is both slurred and tenuto, would you tongue it?

tenuto means you hold a note for it's full value. unless otherwise stated, don't tongue it. just make sure you're holding it for full value.

I know what tenuto means. And how would you not hold a note for its full value while slurring?

by letting your breath cease to flow into your instrument momentarily, thereby shortening the note to less than full value. it's quite easy, really. most people tend to do it on accident.

if you're so knowledgeable about the meaning of "tenuto" why do you even have to ask?

So knowledgeable? All I said is that I know what it means... I didn't ask what tenuto meant.
My lessons teacher says that it means to tongue it. I trust her more than you. Get off your high horse and stop acting like you know everything about music.

Because I didn't have lessons until today.
You're more credible than someone with a doctorate degree? I don't think so...

Sorry, but why do I need you to believe me that my lessons teacher has a doctorate degree? You answered one of my questions, not vice versa.
I'm sorry if I took up a rude tone with you anywhere. I don't want to argue/fight.

-Actually- you could say that it all depends on the muscian. Depending on the style of the song, you might prefer slurring to tonguing.
