The Vietnamese woman bit her lip. Well, way to go there...she hadn't known the girl's parents were dead or whatever.
"What do you mean, you can't go back home?" she hadn't inferred that she didn't have a home at all, just that she couldn't go to it. That was a bit odd. Maybe Aislinn could get out of here before whatever it was started turning her into an animal.
"I think I may see if I can't go home before I get infected."

"I don't think it's actually possible to leave. There's cameras everywhere in here. Guards and all kind of things like that. It's creepy. I've heard of someone trying to leave and failing, and almost dying in the process. It's messy. And beside... They gave you an injection when you came out of the helicopter, right ? It's allready started then."
...This really sucked.

"That...that was just to prep me for..for my surgery," she stuttered, the haze starting to melt and her eyes focusing a bit more again. She was starting to shiver, though it was warm enough here.
She needed a drink. That was it. That would make her feel better, if nothing else. Perhaps this was just a dream. Well, even if it was, she could go get a little tipsy in her own dream, if she had as much control as it seemed like she did. And there'd be nothing to worry about.

...Suddently the beach wasn't exactly inviting anymore. And the cocktail of emotion - sadness at the girl's realisation of the harsh truth, anger caused by the fact neither of them should be here to begin with... was giving her an headache and making her feel like complete crap. Maybe it was why some people thought lying was better.
"I should get going." She said with a sigh, standing up and putting the DS and the shut-down ipod in her pockets. "If you need anything... Im in duplex 22, okay ? No need to worry about bothering me or anything - you won't."
And with that, the woman left, emotionally drained.

The woman blinked at the other's abrupt departure...but felt relieved in a way.
"Right...will do."
She managed to get back to her feet with only a few winces of pain in the direction of her hips, and hobbled towards where she remembered seeing the bar at.
She -definitely- needed a drink now. Or six. Or twenty.

Pyroth had been on his own since the night of the halloween party. What had looked like a good and hearty event had degenerated very quickly into chaos and revelations of a thoroughly unpleasant nature. He had learned of Annie who had seemingly gone mad at her last transformation, of the death of islanders he had once known and rather interestingly, that the chips that buzzed them out could be removed if need arose. All of it had taken him off guard and been food for thought as he run the now familiar paths through the jungle. Of course, even he had to take a break from his territory now and again, come down amongst the others, if only to remind himself that he had been human once, he didn't want to end up like Annie, a feral thing who could not remember anything of what he had once been. That mattered more now than it ever had, even if he inherently didn't like leaving the place he had come to consider a home of sorts.
So today he headed down to the beach, a place he had spent many a happy hour or so and other not so happy hours, stepping out onto the sand and away from the cover of the trees. He didn't like wandering obvious lest he give someone a real fright, after all, half-changed islanders were one thing, a human-sized coyote with a less than perky demeanour was probably another.
Still, he couldn't help but glance down the beach at the bar and remember how not so very long ago, there had been a most enjoyable drinking party there, one of the participants of which he would never see again.

Richard was on his way to the bar. His shoulder still ached from the tussle with Zach and his ego was more than slightly bruised. He walked with a bit of lurch, plunging his cane deep into the sand with each step, more out of frustration than a actual problem walking.
His own thoughts were jumbled but he had a notebook and a pen tucked in his jacket with the intention of writting something once he reached the bar. Thats when he spied Pyroth. Eager for some non hostile company he called out to the coyote. "Hey there!" He waved with his left hand.

Pyroth looked round right away at the sound of a familiar voice, memories pushed to the back of his mind again for now, ears alert. It was always slightly disconcerting for him to have to mentally compose himself just for a conversation but that was always the way it went, whereas before he'd just launch into chat without a thought, these days there was ignoring the urge to flee like a wild animal to contend with. It bothered him but he just had to deal.
Smiling he padded over to Richard, smelling another scent on him than his own, one that was distinctly unnatural, moreso than the man's own scent. He didn't comment though just yet, it wasn't polite, he figured to go prying based on smells.
"Hello." he said, giving his tail an easy wag "Good to see you are still doing alright, I was worried about everyone at that halloween trail thing."

Richard grinned as Pyroth approached and resisted an urge to reach down to scratch Pyroth's ears. He settled for leaning on in cane, driving it deeper in the sand.
A curious look crossed his face as Pyroth spoke, if the coyote considered an arm in a sling doing alright then he wondered what sort of hell the man had been from. He gave a one shoulder shrug, "Don't worry about me, it takes a bit more than a drunken dragon to keep me down." It still hurt though. Richard assumed people saw his confrontation with Zach. That incident for him centered around Zach and Ginvera. The actual Tomb stones were more of a setting.

By island standards Pyroth considered a sling about as good as one could hope for, at least it was still alive and no further along in transformation than before. Of course, he did only notice the sling after a few moment as it was, he wasn't as good at observance as he had been, seeing things via scent over his almost black and white vision.
Zach had attacked someone again? If rumour was to be beleived it had been him who attacked Aubrey way back when, wouldn't this sort of thing get him in deep crap with the labs? "Zach's unpredictable from what I hear, good thing you weren't more hurt. Though I'd figure those tentacles played a part in making sure you were all right." he was still surprised by how strong they really were.
"So where were you off to?"

Richard just nodded at the comment about Zach. He really didn't want to think about him right now. He wanted nothing more to do with the dragon man.
"Just off to get myself a stiff drink. Then maybe do something productive. What you been up to?" He looked down at Pyroth for a moment, considering. "Care to join me?"

"Me? Not much, mainly thinking and wandering. Wasting time since there's too much of it here. But yes definately, I'll join you." he smirked "If you'll pour."

Richard resumed his slow pace towards the beach bar. "I warn you, I mix a mean martine. Thinking eh?" He supposed that was good thing for someone who actually lived in the jungle, true to the form the labs had given him. Then again, the halloween party had given everyone something to chew over. He replayed the night, the new people, knocking Shenzi over, the conversation with Pyroth and Ambrose. He stopped it there, recalling Pyroth mentioning something that he couldn't talk about under the tent.
He glanced around, they were still pretty far from the bar, how well was the beach covered in terms of camera and bugs. "What you been thinking about? Just the end of that little trail?"

"It's been a while since I've had anything halfway decent to drink. Lake water doesn't cut it." he smirked, only pausing mid-step at Richard's question. Yes, he had been thinking bout more than the trail, but could he mention it to anyone? He almost had, hadn't he? "A few things other than that, I heard some things through the grapevine that could be interesting." He wouldn't mention Jamal or Billy being involved, wouldn't mention anything other than the possibility.
He looked self-consciously around, figuring that the beach wasn't as heavily covered in terms of cameras as the halloween even would have been. He lowered his voice slightly and added "It could mean freedom, of a kind."

Richard stopped and slowly lowered himself onto the sand. He looked out onto the waves. "Freedom eh?" He face was careful not to betray the excitement within him. Now escape would be a far more useful thing to pour his energies into than a book on the island's history or a news post for the bulletin board. He just hadn't seen a way to even begin.
"What do you mean?" He spoke very quietly. Almost a whisper.
