"Is it?" Guan asked softly. "Would you have wanted to spend every day with him knowing that if he didn't die that day it would be the next or the one after? Would you really have spent more time with him or would you have worn yourself ragged trying to find some spell to protect him from the unknown cause of his death? It may sound cold Lily, but Arlen chose not to tell you on his own. Knowing that he probably did his best to savor every moment he had with you."
Arlen took the spoon and stuck it into his mouth. "Mmmm," he said pleasantly, nodding his head as he did his best to eat the dollop of pure peanut butter.

River decided to drop this thoughts floating around her head. Standing from her spot on the floor she walked down the stairs and slowly towards the bar. "Good afternoon to you Cerri, Child..." She called out to Cerri and the boy whom she didn't recognize. "I don't suppose I could help either of you could I?" River questioned the pair making fresher coffee then what was currently sitting in the pot. It was strange it felt much nicer down here. She didn't realize she was shaking though until she put the pot down. She had this urge to talk to someone but who? Who would listen to her babble? Not Cerri and certainly not the child. He was interesting looking though and that made River smile.

"Shut up! You perfect b*****d, shut up! You're still .. I.." Ellie glared down at him. Ellie stopped. Her love for the man filled every vein of her body, all the way out to the tips of her wings. She couldn't stop him, and neither could he. Collapsing to her knees, she pulled him against her, not saying another thing. She was in wrong.Her argument was so obscured by now, that it was not worth arguing. Her point had been quite twisted, now to the basis of her own self hatred ,rather than her irresponsibility over her husband. Every warm kiss they'd met, and every embrace ever holding the two of them together pushed happiness into her heart, and a crooked smile onto her face. "Please, not now. I do not want to make more mistakes, and end up dead, and killing you. I want to stop being wrong, so I can protect you.. Make you good.."

"And he didn't give me that same chance." Lily whispered, pulling away, curling up on the bed again. "If he had told me that he knew he was going to die, I would have spent every moment with him that I could, instead of going off to town all the time... I thought we had years left, not days." she closed her eyes, reaching for the harness again. "If... if you need a place for Arl- for the kid to stay, he can sleep with me for awhile." she whispered. Until they knew for sure whether or not he was her Arlen, she could pretend, make-believe that he was the son they'd never had the chance to have.
Cerri laughed and ruffled his hair, letting him eat the peanut butter as she made him a glass of chocolate milk and got out the stuff to make sandwiches. "Here... grab that stool and come over here... you can put the jelly on, okay? Hello River." she added pleasantly.

Blinking at Cerri she chuckled at her actions as she started the pot for another brew of coffee. "So, Cerri out of curiosity what happened to Vincent-san? Did he die? Or is he just hideing in a clever way." She was calm enough maybe she could pester him or something to rid herself of the annoying urge to..Talk to herself. "And how might you be? I see you have a new friend..." Her dark eyes hit the boy for a moment returning to the pot only to wander back to Cerri in a curious manner. " He's a cute little kid." She pointed out shortly to the point.

"Will you be alright with that?" Guan asked softly, standing up. "Even if he is Arlen he might never return."
"Hello," Arlen said his voice slightly muffled by the remaining peanut butter. He waved to River and pulled the stool over to where Cerri indicated and climbed up on top of it.

Baizou hiccuped and coughed once more as he wiped the odd black liquid on his pants. "Ellie..." he whispered, throwing his arms around her, tears sliding down his face. "I am scared, Ellie." He murmured, gripping the back of her shirt. "I love you so much... Can we never say 'perfect' again?" He requested with a small laugh. He kissed her deeply, swaying his tail hopefully. All the built up emotions were flowing away as he embraced the woman he loved.

"It's okay." Lily whispered, nodding. "I... I'll be alright." She offered a weak smile, then closed her eyes again. "But right now.. right now I need to sleep. I'm... very tired." she told him. "Goodnight, Guan..."
"Vincent?" Cerri asked, then hesitated a moment, weighing how much to say and how much should be kept quiet. "He... had to go away, meet with his people." she told River finally, then smiled at the boy. "And yeah, he is cute." she added, ruffling his hair again when he was on the stool. She opened the jelly for him, then handed him a butter knife, demonstrating what to do first. "So you need to do two more slices of bread, okay? Think you can do that Arlen?"

Ellie gave a odd sort of hiccough, as she wiped away the last of her tears. But, his kiss was met fully, and then some. Her lips pried at his, full of emotion, as her hands flew around, and grabbed onto his back. After a few moments, she pulled back, blushing hotly. "Baizou, I am in love with you." she whispered, eyes half lulled in the overwhelming gleefulness that swam through her body.

"Funny.." River grunted pouring herself a cup of coffee in a silent manner. "I don't have the means of bothering him anymore. to toss such a good Idea away like that." River smirked knowing well enough he didn't like to be bothered. " Not surpising since Kaden hardly remembers who Vincent is." She murmured to Cerri with a sigh smiling at the boy with a small wave back. " So, He is a child who is interesting whats his name?" She asked starting to drink the black looking liquid.

"Really?" Baizou asked, ears perked, "I was afraid that you were not for a little." He said truthfully. "Is it okay if I do not let go of you, tonight. I have lost you too many times already." He murmured as he mustered the energy to stand and carry her with him. He didn't, so he helped her stand instead. He frightened himself with how weak he was. Had that fear really drained him that much? He sighed and kissed her forehead for good measure. "Let us go to bed, okay?"

"Alright," Guan said, draping a blanket over Lily before heading towards the door. "You can keep the harness as long as you like," he said before opening it. "I have no doubt that Arlen would have left everything he owned to you." Quietly he opened the door and stepped into the hallway before shutting it.
Arlen nodded and took the knife carefully in his hand and proceeded to slather the remaining pieces of bread with jelly, creating minimal mess in the process. "I'm done."

Once they stepped inside her room, Ellie turned to face him, body almost glowing form all of the love that she felt for him right then. Her hands reahced up and pulled him into another kiss, which brought them to the bed, where she lay down with him. Her face pulled back, and she nodded softly. "NO matter how stupid I can be somedays, like today, know that I love you, Baizou. No matter how silly I am. There is no other place I'd rather be than with you." she said, voice soft, but extremely serious. Almost immediately afterwards, she yawned. It had drained her, too. She was sleepy.

Lily curled up into a tight ball around the harness, then gave a sigh, drifting slowly off to sleep.
"River, this is Arlen." Cerri introduced, warning clear in her eye for the woman; she did hope the other wouldn't mention that the other Arlen they'd known had just died. "And Arlen, this is River." Then, when he announced that he was done, she examined his work, then gave him an approving smile and kissed the top of his head. "Great job kiddo." she told him, then quickly did up the peanut butter slices and put the sandwiches together. "There... three done. One for me, one for you, and one for Guan if he wants one. Otherwise, I'll eat." she joked, winking again.

Baizou pulled his shirt off and tossed it to the side as he leaned up for another kiss. "I love you, too." He murmured lovingly. "And you are very sexy." he added with a half-giggle. He reached up and pulled her against his body with a content sigh. The more of her that touched him, the more relaxed he felt. "Thank you..." He murmured, emerald eyes shining. "Thank you for loving me, too."
