RedShadowHero So, let me get this straight: this is the only place in the entire guild that out of character-type of responses are allowed, correct? If I am in error, just tell me, and I'll delete this post. Your close, but a bit off. You can post OOC in the IC threads, but not a conversation. A simple responce such as, ((I have to go to dinner)). But nothing close to a whole conversation. If you have to work out all the details in a post and such, its better to take that here. Or over IM conversation. 3nodding

Alright; thanks for the clarification. Also, what does one have to do to get started here? I'm actually quite eager to get into something, but so many things seem so established, that I don't want to disturb them.

Make a character bio, put it in the Bio Thread, then just pop into the threads and explore. Just backread a little to get the idea of what's happening. Most people here are open to anyone popping in.

RedShadowHero Alright; thanks for the clarification. Also, what does one have to do to get started here? I'm actually quite eager to get into something, but so many things seem so established, that I don't want to disturb them. Now that is a little trickier. With all the threads some people are involved some private things while others are not. If you do a bit of reading to make sure the people your approaching are not in a secret or secure, or private location. You should be fine. Now if you want to know a little about a character so that you can see whether or not yours would approach them, try the Character Database in the Information 101 section. Its basically a free RP world. Last, you can try just making a random IC entrance post in a thread of your choosing...but...thats sort of like fishing. You throw it out there, you might not get a bite. Oh! And before I forget. When you get a chance toss a Bio in the Character Database. You'll need it if you want to get involved in the Arena Rankings.

Theres no real requirement to RPing. One easy was is to just start a little roleplay. Something simple. Walk into the arena and ask someone for a spar or something.
Or you could be an a** and forcefully insert yourself into one thats already going on.

Thou art fail.
And yes, anywhere is open to RP. Anywhere. It's one of the rules that we have for thread creation (read the announcement in the main forum for that), that any thread must be accessible to everyone and not a private roleplay. Some places could be dangerous, or have guards, or off-limits areas, but everyone should be able to RP in every thread without much difficulty.
The problem is just getting involved with other people. If you just walk out there you might not get anyone to interact with you. It's really a question of "if". A lot of people seem to discuss interactions beforehand in OOC when doing that, just to make sure they aren't standing there hoping for attention.
Obviously, the other way to go about it is to find people and go to them. Backread to get context, try not to walk into areas that people would ask "how did you get in here!?!?!?!?", and don't impose too harshly if people are having a private moment... but, y'know... don't feel like you just shouldn't talk to anyone because they have their own agendas or anything, eh?

Standing around waiting to get attention works fine. Only problem is that the attention may not be what's expected.

Kraun Standing around waiting to get attention works fine. Only problem is that the attention may not be what's expected. Read as: "ONE OF US."
