As Ginji dove to the depths of the ocean, he could feel an odd presence watching him. Waiting for him. Mudkip swam solidly into the boy as he reached for his Pokeball. "Go! Quagsire!" he mumbled as the light blue thing came bursting out of its Pokeball.

Quagesire attacked first by blowing a jet of water at the attacking water-type, knocking it off balance. Mudkip retaliated with its own Water Gun. This wasn't getting anywhere fast, as the two kept exchanging blows left and right. But it did help that Quagesire was absorbing each hit with its Water Absorb ability. Attacking with a Slam, Mudkip was outmatched and was sent flying out of the water. Defeated.

As Kiara entered the murky underwater bay, she noticed that yes, the device worked quite well. "Perhaps with Ike's permission I can borrow one to see how it works," she thought. Suddenly she felt a sharp sting on her foot, and she whirled around. She paled at the sight of the tentacool, feeling the tell-tale numbness begin to set in. She shook her foot as she called for her pokemon; apparently the breathing device also helped pokemon hear their trainers underwater.
"Bite!" she ordered, and Satan swam forward furiously, latching onto one of the tentacool's tentacles and very nearly chomping it off. The jellyfish responded with a poison sting straight to Satan's mouth. Satan let go but was unable to swim away in time as a bubblebeam came straight at him. Kiara knew that to win she'd have to be patient and wait for oppertunity to present itself; something that would be hard with her numb foot.
As the tentacool came at Satan with another attack, Kiara quickly barked out her next move. "Crunch!" Satan did just that as the tentacool attempted a poison jab, effectively stopping the attack.
The tentacool desprately tried to free itself with an acid attack, but Satan refused to let go. "Now! Take Down!" Kiara called, clenching her teeth. Her foot was beginning to hurt. Satan attack, sending the tentacool into unconsciousness.
"Good job," she said as Satan swam over, helping her towards the surface.

Sammy walked up to the Trapinch, cracking her knuckles. “Okay, let’s get this over with…” Sammy sighed. “Go, Troy!” The Hitmonchan soon appeared, arms crossed. “Troy, use thunderpunch!” Sammy called. Troy’s fist began to let off sparks and glowed bright, and he punched Trapinch, hard. Trapinch flew backwards a bit; the damage was good. Trapinch soon came back up to the battle, using bite. Fangs out, Trapinch bit down on Troy’s arm, doing a fair amount of damage. Troy soon recovered, moving his arm in circles to reduce the pain. “Good save, Troy…. Use megapunch!” Sammy called. Troy mustered all of the strength he could, his eyes ‘blazing’ with power. He let out a ragged breath, and ran up to Trapinch. He punched a punch that seemed to shake the Earth; Trapinch went flying backwards, out of sight. That was… a defeat. “Good hit! I’m glad you’re not mad at me.” Sammy chuckled, returning Troy to his pokeball. She walked back aways, waiting for everyone else to be done with their battles.

Ginji recalled Quagesire and headed back for the surface, the gizmos were hard on his teeth. And he didn't want to go to the dentist again. He took a deep breathe of air and waited for the others to finish up. "Wow. We are really getting an upgrade..."

As they decended more and more into the dark, cold bay, Ike and Lucario ran into a Mantine below them, looking up at them with interest.
"Huh...well, this doesn't look like your type Lucario. You'd better return." said Ike, recalling his partner. He then called out Pikachu. The two had to share the breathing gizmo, and Pikachu took a deep breath in preparation for the battle.
"Ready Pikachu?" asked Ike. Pikachu only nodded, not wanting to release any air in his mouth.
"Start with a Thunderwave!" said Ike. Pikachu sent electrical shockwaves aimed at the Mantine. The attack his and paralyzed the pokemon. The Mantine swam up its challengers and performed Bubblebeam. The bubbles snapped at Pikachu with force, causing damage.
"Thunderbolt, Pikachu!" said Ike, then. Pikachu curled his fists and shot a bolt of lightning through the water at Mantine. The attack was four times as effective and sent the Mantine back a few feet.
Pikachu needed air, though. He swam back to Ike to get another breath through the gizmo and gave it back to Ike. Not prepared for Mantine's next attack, a Hydro Pump sent from above sent Pikachu spiraling down deeper and deeper into dark water. Ike's eyes widened as he started to swim for Pikachu, but Pikachu's speed was to great to catch up to.
The Mantine swam swiftly past Ike, using another Bubblebeam attack.
"Stop it!" complained Ike, swimming as fast as he could. Though to his supprise, Pikachu could be seen again rising upward. He was incased in a bubble, knocked out. Mantine was right behind it, pushing Pikachu toward the surface. Pushing all confusion to the side, Ike followed.

When the three reached the surface, Ike recalled Pikachu and turned to the Mantine.
"...Thanks." he said to the kite pokemon. Mantine smiled and started swimming around Ike, playfully. A pain in it's back, though, stopped it in its tracks. It was its paralysis.
"I can help you Mantine. It's the least I could do for you saving my partner." Ike said. "How about you come with us?"
The Mantine took Ike's offer with a smile, yet still in pain.
"Alright." said Ike. He reached for an Aqua Ball and threw it at Mantine. Once inside, the ball bobbed on the surface of the water.
........wobble...........wobble...........wobble.......Ping!
Ike swam over to the Aqua Ball to collect his new partner, Mantine.

Ginji smiled at Sammy as a wild Tailow soared overhead and attacked him. Ginji sighed as he jumped out of the water and onto the shore to fight the new attacker. He tossed out Jolteon who used a Thundershock to weaken the flying type. Tailow attacked with a Aerial Ace that scored a Critical Hit. But it wasn't enough. After another attack, Tailow was out. Cold.

"And that takes care of that." Ginji smiled as he walked over the where everyone else was.

Maddy swam back up to the surface, Emp swimming next to her. "Well, this is a first. I used to love swimming... I can't believe I forgot that..."

Ike made his way back to the beach and once standing on the warm sand, he stood to catch his breath. On the horizon, he could see a ship heading their way. The area seemed pokemon-free.
"Here they come" said Ike, putting dry clothes on. He then noticed Kiara and walked over to her, wondering what happened.
