Riku stood in shock as the Apocrypha burned in front of him. Five thousand years worth of information, the key to information that could beat Thanatos- gone. Shock turned into anger, anger turned into rage, and with a loud shout, Riku turned to face his assailant.
He had expected to see another Ifrit. Instead, a strange man, dressed in a strange black uniform marked with the Seal of Thanatos, stood before him. The man had a helmet on that covered his face, but Riku didn't care. This man had destroyed what he had come to obtained. He wasn't leaving the library alive.
"You... son.... of a... b***h!!!" Riku roared as he flung himself at the man, Hellion Angels drawn. The man raised a sword to guard himself, but Riku swung his katars with such force that they cleaved it in two. He was unable to block the next blow, which went straight at his head. The helmet crumpled as five pounds of adamantine-reinforced steel ripped into it. The man hung lifelessly, the three-foot blade completely through his head.
Riku sensed four more men drop down behind him. He reacted by swinging around and hurling the body at them. The raised their arms to block the body coming at them- ignoring Riku completely. He jumped at one, and with several slashes and stabs, the man fell dead. The others, now alert, drew their swords, which, strangely, pulsed with Chaos. One jumped to attack Riku from above, while another ran towards him to impale him. Riku easily knocked aside the attack from above, then came down the meet the one in front of him. A single swing separated his head from his shoulders. He then threw one Angel in the air, pulled out his crossbow and shot the one who had attacked from above, impaling him to the wall. He holstered the bow and grabbed the katar as it came back down. He then turned to face the last one.

((OOC: Okay, I know that I left Mr. F waiting to answer my nickname request, but because it takes him longer than most I'm going to go along with the mission he gave me. My excuse is after the awkward suggestion for a nickname, Larry got the hell out of Dodge and made for the portal room with the folder in hand.))
Larry walked quickly down the MM hallways toward the portal room. With his long legs, even the act of walking was expedited. While he walked, he contemplated whether he should have come out to Mr. F about his nickname suggestion.
"Freebird, huh? God what the hell was I thinking?!" he chastised himself mentally, glancing at the folder "I was nearly killed on a rookie errand run by a chick, I don't deserve a name like that. Hell, I'll bet in the infirmary break room they call me p***y, 'cause of that old buzzard's cat that I had to rescue."
He reached the portal room and quickly entered the suggested coords for the mission. Before he stepped through, he quickly reviewed the mission:
Agent: Cyrith Agent status: Missing Last known whereabouts: On way to store Nature of departure: Cheese Nature of disappearance: ?
That sounded about right. He tossed the file aside and stepped through the portal, adjusting the pistol before going through.
He came out the other side, wondering how exactly his employer intended to help him find this Cyrith. No leads had been listed in the folder and although Larry had many information fences he didn't know any around here.
Nevertheless, Larry picked up his feet and started walking around. Hopefully he would stumble on the scene of an accident in front of the grocery store or something and his mission would be over quicker than before. wink
((OOC: To Cyrith, if you're listening, might you send some kind of intervention at this point? Maybe those drugged cookie salespeople or something to get me where it is you are now.))

(( I've been less reliable because I'm taking a summer class. It's over in a week and a half.
EDIT: Oops, Sonny posted first. This post happens before hers. ))
Mr. Forgle Random hall, MMHQ
"Sounds good to me," Mr. Forgle said. He unclipped a pin from the top of his clipboard and marked down the name on the top sheet. "Free... bird. Okay, I'll pass that on." Under normal circumstances, he would have considered giving oneself a nickname to be pretentious, but it was a common practice at the Mishaps. Mr. Forgle had never asked why. If he had to guess, he would say that the soldiers considered pompous nicknames to be fun, somehow. Larry's choice was pretty original, and not as absurd as some of the names he'd heard.

Riku cleaned the blood from the Angels. His attackers lay dead in front of him, two of them very well mutilated. He had to know one thing before he left though. They had been using Chaos. But how? The only Chaosmongers he knew of were Yuri and himself, and he wasn't even a pure Chaosmonger. How had these guys be using a power only a few people in existence could use?
He walked up to the least mutilated one, and reached down to pull off his helmet. He recoiled in shock as he got a look at- his own face, staring back at him with a blank expression.
"What the hell is going on here?" He said, still in shock. He took a deep breath to calm himself, then pulled out his scanner again. He snapped a picture of the being, then put the scanner away and hit the comm button.
"This is Riku. You'll need to send someone else to Urkhal. I've just found something more important than an assassination. Riku out." He then began running back towards the entrance of the library. Whatever was going on here, he had a feeling the data from the Apocrypha would help explain it.

Brian sighed, and looked through the files again. The damn bug in the controlling software had labelled him as a mechanism in need of repair. He slowly banged his head agains the table. Why? WEhy hadn't he at least spent a few more minutes on poindering that question..... He looked at his hands, and wondered for a bit.... he knew they where only frikkin nanobots, immitating the nature of his flesh.... He sighed, and stood up. It was useless. According to his damn report, the nanobots had replaced everything with nanobots, in a way that the nanobots would immitate the matter in a more efficient way..... Muscles formed like hydraulic pumps, skin soft to the touch, but basically a kevlar la..... He stopped, sweat forming suddenly.... What if..... His hand shot downwards, and he sighed. Of course, he said to himself, it was so uneffiocient the way it had been done before, so they removed his ..... He went over the logs again, and swore multiple times... It seemed the only part left to him now was the Brain, since his nanobots had not been able to reproduce that, and some portion of his spine....He sighed, abnd burried his head in his hands. No, it was not possible.... No, no no, no..... His com crackled, as an other wifi..... He stopped, and raised himself. Yes, he could now hear the words the wifi whispered, the distaint beeping of the phones and comms. He grinned, and concentrated on the one com call. "Riku, this is tech. Your message has been stored, and will be led on to an other person.... but come on, what the heck was that pic from the scanner? you are dealing with some troubles?..." He paused a minute, and then grinned. "Say, riku, can you see any electrical outlet from where you are? Anything? If you see something with electricity, please read the inventory number, which is on the top, to me through the phone..... seems like you are in a hurry to do something, maybe I can help..." He grinned, as in front of his inner eye, a console opened, and he saw the command prompt. Finally, he was able to programm with his thoughts......

Riku pressed his comm button again as the message crackled over the line. "I don't see any electrical outlets, sorry. However, I do need to get to the archives. I've got some information to be translated, and I'm the only one who speaks this language."

((Haha, you can't call yourself a true man anymore Brian razz Sucks to be you!))
Following Ace, he swung open the door to the tavern and greeted the barman, who was sweeping up and cleaning glasses after what seemed to be not a very busy day. Pulling a chair out, he sat down on it heavily, and rested his arms and head on the table in front of him. Hriskarr sat in silence. His hand seemed to unconsciously move towards the inside of his leather overcoat. Fumbling around for a moment, it withdrew, holding a small metal flask. Motioning towards the barman, he called for a glass, which was brought over, with a curious look to the flask. Pouring a golden-brown liquid into the glass, he stared into it, thinking, watching the light from the lanterns dance and fade in the drink as he held it up.
He saw Ace coming back down the stairs, carrying the broadsword that he was issued, and placed the glass down onto the pitted and worn wooden trestle table.
"Captain. I've been thinking. Well... Thinking ever since I joined the Mercs I guess. If you don't mind, I'd rather like to have a talk with you."
He motioned towards a chair beside him.
((It's up to you whether you talk to Hrisskar or not Sotako.))

After a few ragged breaths, Yue wiped a few droplets of some red liquid from his face. It was untainted. Not a single taste of any form of alcohol, had com incontact with it. "But it's not enough." Brushing the hair from the girl's neck, he lowered his mouth. And bit down again. The soft sounds of the teen sucking the plasma from the girl never made it to any ears. Since the girl had willing let the teen do this, she never struggled or yelled. She had given her life to him, freely. Yue pulled back and laid the girl on the ground. The fang marks would heal in minutes so the teen was allowed to leave. For both her sake, and his, he had not taken enough blood to kill her, only enough to make her pass out. She would recover. Stepping through the doorway, into the tavern. Yue passed by Ace and Rusty. They seemed to be in a conversation. Stepping into an empty room, upstairs, he removed his black cloak. The shirt he had on under it was a blue that stopped at his shoulders. Yue had no muscle nor fat. He was just plain skinny, and not like able to see his bones skinny. He wore black armbands and black pants. Yue caught sight of a few drops of blood on his cloak. It was difficult to see from far away, but see enough to see close up. "Tommorrow, I'll have to remove that." Crawling atop the bed, he slept untop of the sheets. He prefered the cold air rather then the feeling of warmth. ((Don't count me out yet. I'm coming back. ^-^))

(( @Requiem: Ok by me. I can call it a long stakeout, and summarize the results. Anybody who's against a time skip, speak up.
The next time you want to skip time, though, why not play the time out? How you get to the next major plot point can be as interesting than the plot point itself. Or, only skip an hour or so instead of a few days, and get to your destination that much sooner.

The time skip sounds fine with me. It wont affect Sokato, but it will affect the android.))
Ace walked into the bar area and took the seat next to Hrisskar. "I don't mind at all. It's part of the job of being a captain." He took the sword and sheath off of his back and leaned it against the table. "Whats on your mind?"

Brian grinned, as he stood inside the room, and watched the limp puddle that formed his Body.... His disentangled mind and spine, now resting in a kind of net, just slowly over the round.... No, he said to himself, and moved closer to the form. It was good and solid. he was now watching his brain and spine from the outside..... With only a matter of a second, he blinked, and stood in the center of the room again. He looked down at his body, and smiled. At least, it was pretty damn cool. The thing that had shunned his growth as a programmer had allways been his mind trapped inside this frail little body. He watched the design specs on the console that he just visioned. The nanobots had done a bit of a harm, he had to admit. His sense of touch was unjust, better to say like the one of a onehanded paraplegic. all sensations came in too bright, too hard.... the computer had allways specified them wrong. He could now see, better to say, feel his errors. This was going to be so much fun.....He blinked again, and in a minute, the nanobots were swarming again. 456822951,2 nanobots formed him at any given minute. Equal to if he was in a body, or in a cloud of them, stretching over the entire room. he controlled every little tiny bot, an extension to his will to the fuillest.... Damn it, and I thought of sex..... It was very unusual, he had to admit, as he wrote the days ressources down in a text file. The energy was none of his concern. The power lines feeding into the Mishaps headquarters where more then equipped for the full effect of his machine body. The Backup generators and batteries would provide his brain with approximately 9000 manhours of survival, on the tinyest of all human levels. he did no longer need to breath, sleep, or even eat. All his instincts, that had just been directed towards keeping his little body from falling apart wheere now useless. he just had the need for three things. Nutrition for his organical rest mass. This would be simply provided by the surroundings, and some good old fashioned cheeseburgeres. The nanobots broke down the surrounding mass, and spooned it to his brain in a way it could dygest it. Air support for the brain. That would be a little more of a problem, but as far as his ressources had gone, he now had the nanites trained to extract the air molecules from the surrounding area. Excellent. Electricity. His new form needed a constant stream of electricity, simply to sustain itself. without it, even the tiny nanobots would, as for now, be helpless, and would just shut him down. Aah. He rested his spirit, andf watched what his subroutines had done. All over the world, the programms broke into companys, patent offices, and other facilitys, and just stole some of the content. A surgeon from Nevada would find that apparently someone had copied his secret plans for a better life support system. a company in China unwillingly donnated a special life support system for transplant organs.... he grinned, and let his mind roam free. The lines of code flowed from it, simply outfitted with a powerfull processor he had hooked up to his brain, so that it could translate the readings of his mind directly to his network. Begone all the limitations, like his slowly worsening eyesight, that would have caused him to wear glasses. Begone his slow fingers, who were never able to cope with the speed of his thoughts, and had forced him to slow down his force of thought. He now was of machine, a man on the next step to evolution. Thinking, living machine..... With a cry that manifested as a slight whirr of electrons, his body pulsed, and he closed his eyes.... As he opened them, he was the building. every tiny nanobot in the mishaps headquarters was of his bidding. he saw simultaneously tens of billions of tiny videostreams, all coming together in his brain. Every angle in the building possible..... He saw the gates to other dimensions, he was the coffee machine in the corner of a common room, he saw with the eyes of a headlight in a womans toilet. he was living his creation, and it was good. he now needed neither sleep, nor nutrition, nor rest..... he was, in the most literal of al words, a machine.....
Deep in his subcoonsious, he kept back a question though. What if the electronics failed? what if his new body had a complete meltdown, like from a nuclear device? what would he see then, with all of his bots reduiced to blinking heaps of metal..... how would it be, to be trapped inside a brain and a few bits of spine....He gagged, and realised that he had no throat to do it with. It did not matter..... in his previous form, he would have pondered about wheter to let himself into dangerous situations. Now, he just had to be very very carefull that the energy would flow, and keep his body alive. He just could not afford to get back into his natural body..... All over the world, little tiny probgramms sprang into action....buying a tiny warehouse there and here, signing some contractors up to come and drill some holes for a highspeed internet access point..... He grinned, as he watxched the children of his mind play..... He had to ensure that in the case of abyssmal failure, at least he would have some tiny parts of himself left, in the bodies of multiple server farms all around the globe. All under the guise of Mishaps dataloss protection centers....We backup your data for aeons to come.... Crackling, a mind hang above the floor, as millions of tiny riobots implemented the newest security technology in it that had been available....
