Atem finally went to go see Nanu, after considering it over and over again. Part of him wanted to sulk back into his room to brood, but he knew he had made a commitment to Nanu and needed to protect her. He adjusted his headgear and opened the door, trying to remain cheerful.

Mariku came back, after a lengthy wait. He looked rather pleased with himself. "I'm allowed to stay!" He said happily, looking down at the couple. "And so are you, of course. But I have to warn you, Bakura, nobody here really likes you. Only because you're well known for robbing tombs. It would be best if you remained inside during your stay. If you need anything, you ask someone else to get it. Rei, deny any connection you have to him, okay? Things should run pretty smoothly."

"ohhh" Ayira said. "Well my name means the chosen one." she said. She ran her fingers threw her blonde hair smiling. She was used to living in her jerwerly and only took it off for bathing.
Nanu looked up from the bed. She had sat back down after the servent left. "Oh hi." Nanu said with a smile. Her forhead was slightly red a bruise forming.

"What happened? Are you not used to walking around yet?" Atem asked, looking concerned. He went over to her, examining the bruise. "Do all of your people look like you?" Seto asked, sitting down on his bed. "Pale hair, skin, and eyes, I mean. Or are you special?" He was much better behaved when he didn't have to worry about his duties and such. And whenever he got more comfortable with talking to a person. Bakura wondered how well he would take to this restriction. Not go out? At all? He could understand if he couldn't leave this underground freak town, but even he would need to stretch his legs. He cast a glance around the house, sighing. He expected to get very used to his surroundings, very fast. "Do you people have jobs to do here? Or do you just stay inside all day?" He asked, looking very irritated. Mariku shook his head. "Oh, nothing like that. We work, don't worry. Today is just the day of the week we set aside for rest. I'll get a job, I'm sure. Just about any able-bodied person has to work." The blonde looked at Rei curiously. "Will you be wanting to do something? It would be suspicious if both of my servants didn't show their faces. You could earn some money and buy your own space, if you'd like. Or whatever you'd like."

"I could get work but I wouldent want to move away from bakura" rei said.

"Aww. Poor baby." Atem said, kissing her forehead. "Hey, we've got a visitor. Some tribe sent a woman to the palace, as, you know, a peace offering. Seto was awfully mean; he sent her to stay in the dungeon as he was getting me. You'd think he would have better manners!" "Hmm. Well, that's good. Sometimes people think that individuals who look different are evil-- demons and whatnot. I've seen things like that happen in villages." Seto noticed that Ayira was still standing, and scooted over on the bed, offering her a spot next to him. "Deformities, different colored characteristics, sometimes just if the baby is born on a strange day. People can be ruthless when they don't understand differences." "Well, you wouldn't have to do that." Bakura said, leaning back against the wall, slumping a little. "But I think you should do that. It might be nice if you did something productive, instead of lazing around as you usually do." Bakura was just teasing at this; he pushed Rei's shoulder a little to let her know this.

Nanu smiled softly "Its just the way he is"
Ayira sat down beside him "Yes some people tend to shy away from things they dont understand and that are diffrent. It's best when people learn to embrace the difrences."
Rei laughed "I know im just soooo lazy. its not like im caring for anybody.." she said playfully.

"He's an a**. Sometimes I really hate him." Atem grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest and pouting. All of a sudden, Seto hugged Ayira, squeezing tightly. "You're different. I'm embracing you. Is this what you mean?" "Right. I mean, you could be a little more caring. Start by massaging my feet." Bakura kicked off his shoes, waggling his toes at Rei. Mariku sighed heavily, rolling his eyes.

"So, why were you trying to leave?" Atem asked, poking the bruise on Nanu's forehead. Seto was quiet for a moment, becoming serious, and then cleared his throat, about to say something, when the door opened. Seto quickly released Ayira, getting to his feet, looking irritated at whoever would enter without knocking. He relaxed when it was just Akhenaden. He bowed, only because he was his father, when really it should have been Akhenaden bowing to him, since he had a higher position of priesthood. "Seto, I heard that..." Akhenaden said, then stopped when his one eye fell on the scantily clad woman sitting on his son's bed. "Ah. I'm sorry. Am I disturbing something... important?" His tone hinted that he thought Seto and this woman, presumably a whore, were doing something-- oh, why beat around the bush?-- he thought they were going to have sex. "I saw they were almost crawling earlier." Bakura said, much to the surprise of Mariku. He thought Bakura hadn't paid them any attention at all. "I don't know much about infants. Is this the age when they're supposed to be doing that?"

"I was going to go find you.." Nanu said. She squeeked when he poked it.
Ayira blinked then smiled softly "No your fine" she told the man unsure of who he was.
"I think so" Rei said. She movedthem from the carrier and set them in his ;lap. Femi squeeked and clung to her father babling happly.

"Ah, right... Akhenaden, this is Ayira. She was..." Seto hesitated slightly, then changed his wording. "She is a princess of a tribe Egypt is currently having troubles with. She was sent as a peace offering. Because of the festival, there are not enough rooms, and the pharaoh has chosen for her to share my room." Akhenaden frowned at the girl, studying her through his one eye critically. Seto turned towards the princess. "This is Priest Akhenaden. He is my father; the pharaoh's uncle." "Oh, well, I was right back. You really shouldn't go around the palace, Nanu, until I can get you a bodyguard. It isn't safe." The pharaoh's tone changed as he scolded her. "But, I'm here now. Do you want to walk around? We could go see Amenitre." Bakura picked Femi up, lifting her into the air and smiling. Though sometimes he could show little emotional attachment to them, he really did care for his children. He just wasn't quite used to them. "When they grow up, do you think they'll still like me?"

Ayira smiled softly "Well actuly my tribe was waging wars with a county your fueiding with. I was given to that county and now they are giving me to you...." Ayria let out a slightly annoyed sigh befor bowing slightly "But it's a please to meet you."
Nanu smiled "Ok!." she said happly. She was very attached to the child.
"Im sure they will. I know femi loves you to death." Rei said as she actly started to rub his feet.

"Right. I didn't read the letter too closely." Seto muttered, shrugging. Akhenaden didn't say anything in response to Ayira's kind greeting; he seemed to disapprove of her. He gave his son a slight glare, then motioned for Seto to follow him into the hallway. The blue-eyed priest sighed, but followed his father anyway. Outside, Akhenaden made no move to close the door, or even keep his voice down. It was as though he wanted Ayira to hear. "Seto, are you out of your mind? Do you know what people will think if they see you with that... that... creature? This might be different-- excusable-- if she was just a common whore. But she isn't." Akhenaden snapped, his face contorted with rage. It was so rare that Seto saw his father express such extreme emotions, that he was rather taken aback by him, stunned into silence. "It is one thing that she isn't Egyptian, but it is another that she looks nothing like an Egyptian! Your name will be dragged through the mud if anyone catches you doing this. And soon the entire palace will be crawling with other priests! Influential priests, who will make you lose your position, or worse-- have you killed." "Akhenaden-- you know you don't mean that. Your implied feelings towards her nationality aren't even worthy of being commented on-- I'm just going to pretend you said nothing of the sort." Seto hissed back, feeling a bit angry himself. "Besides, even if some cranky old priests have a problem with that, what do I care? The pharaoh is the one who will make any decision in the end, and certainly he wouldn't let anything like that happen to me. We are family." Seto tossed his head. "Besides, she is just staying in my room. There is nothing going on, trust me. Read my mind if you have to-- you know I'm telling the truth." "Seto..." Now Akhenaden's voice dropped down into a low whisper. "If you ever want to overthrow Atem, you cannot build up supporters if you are being seen doing outrageous things. You need to maintain a good image if you are going to be pharaoh!" "You try to scold me for doing bad things while you are the one with ridiculous ideas of usurping the pharaoh? You hypocrite." Seto growled, standing up straighter, towering slightly over his father. "Never mind what I do. I am allowed to have a personal life. Now, Father, if you know what's good for you, you'll go back to your room and forget all of this, and so will I." "I heard what you were thinking earlier. Don't do it, Seto. Don't do anything with that whore. It isn't worth it." Akhenaden said, his Millennium Eye glowing slightly. Seto raised his hand as though to hit his father, but Akhenaden ducked away, striding rapidly down the hall. Seto sighed, angry and frustrated, and headed back into his room.
