Mitsu looked up at the sky after returning Lucario back to his Pokeball. It was well past noon, despite how hot it still was. Her stomach rumbled reminding her that she hadn't eaten lunch yet. She was supposed to have eaten with Kilik at the Pokemon Center before the battle, but that didn't quite work out too well. She didn't feel like walking back, so she simply chose to dine at one of the various cafes that they had close by. The shopping center in Lilycove may be huge, but so was the restaurant area.
She picked a nice quiet, out-of-the-way restaurant. Mom and pop shops always made the best food anyways. A rather tall waitress came to give her a menu. The place was quiet, only a few other people were seated and eating. She opened the menu, a lot of comfort foods were listed. "Mm," she mused looking over the menu. "What can I get you?" the waitress asked returning a few minutes later.
"I think I'll have an iced tea," she said, "and lasagna with bread sticks." She handed over the menu, satisfied with their offering and her order. It sure sounded good from the description. Fast forward. The food arrived and it was smelled heavenly. She dug in eagerly, not even realizing how hungry she was until the smell had hit her.
Once she finished she paid the bill, left a tip, and exited the quiet setting. She made her way back to the center and found a room to sleep in. She'd see everyone soon, on the boat going to Sinnoh.

Meanwhile, Ulani found herself in quite a predicament. She was, in fact, duct-taped to that darling egg she had been so affectionately watching over. Now, it wasn't that she disliked the baby or anything, but being duct-taped to anything was certainly against her constitution; the stuff was super, super sticky and certainly not good for her cottony wings. Not to mention her beak was also taped to the point where it looked more like the cast of a broken leg. Mildly uncomfortable, to say the least.
The only thing she could really do at the time was glare at her captor, a fairly young man puffing away at a cig as he leaned against one of the warehouse's walls. He was admittedly rather good-looking though Ulani could only think of how bad-natured this guy really was, smirking away like that under those deep set eyes. "If you'd just behave and incubate that egg quietly, we wouldn't have had to use so much tape," he said simply after a long drag. Then his phone ran, and Ulani could only resign herself to the current situation, seeing little way of escape. Even if she somehow clawed herself out, it'd be near impossible to get away from that man and his Zangoose, who was sitting with its back to the door.
"Yeah, I've got a good haul this time. All relatively rare, well, except for this Swablu... Mm.... Yeah. Warehouse 9, at the pier... Ha. I'd say you're doing a quite a bit of dirty work too; at least I don't have to deal with all those unsavory clients of yours... Ha, alright. I'll be waiting."
Meanwhile, M.A. tripped and face-planted on the shore, nearly flipping over with all the momentum she had going on. Once she had recovered herself, she found herself face to face with some trainer's well-meaning and somewhat worried Spinarak, and with a shriek she scuttled away, half burying her "assailant" with sand in the process. Then she fervently apologized to the spider's somewhat irritated trainer before dashing off behind the distant Daemyn and Tora once more. Maxine, behind her, couldn't help but snort at the sight -- 'What a reckless child,' she murmured to herself, unsure if she was impressed by the rapid recovery or not.
Diego, who had been lounging on Maxine's back, gave a loopy grin. 'She just tends to throw herself full-heartedly into whatever she puts her mind to,' the painter said, wiggling up the dinosaur's neck to sit on her head. 'Such simple-mindedness... it's a little endearing, no?' Maxine said nothing in reply, but stopped by the girl when she fell over again. The girl was breathing hard and pale as a sheet, half-dead from this exertion, even though they hadn't run that far. Diego grinned smugly to himself, though, when Maxine kneeled to the sand and essentially scooped her with her mouth up unto her back before taking flight.

One of the gym's judges made his way to the sidelines, holding a flag in each hand that represented the leader and the challenger. "This is an official Pokemon League gym battle for the Pewter City Boulder Badge! Both trainers will use two pokemon, only the challenger may substitute during and after a match. Are both sides ready?"
Brock nodded, his smile fading. He was a kind person in general, but when it came to battling Brock was focused and as sturdy as stone. His voice showed his intensity, but it was in no way harsh. "Geodude, you're up!" Brock threw his first pokeball into the field, the white light flowing out if the sphere and shaping what looked like a big gray rock. Suddenly arms emerged from the stone as well as a pair of eyes and a mouth, the pokemon letting out an battle ready cry as it clenched it's stony firsts. "You were impressive against Jerry, let's see if you do just as well against me!"

Sam nodded. She recognized the Rock/Ground type from earlier, and smiled, if a bit smaller then usual. "I'm ready. Let's do this Star!" She threw the pokeball with faked confidence. Star emerged from the pokeball, peppy and ready to battle. She too recognized the Rock Pokemon. She smirked. This would go down without a problem. Sam saw the warning signs.
"Star, this isn't a normal battle! You need to be careful! Start out with a Mud-Slap, make it hard to land a hit." Star rolled her eyes at Sam's caution, but followed orders just the same.

As Medicham stared down his opponent's terrifying appearance, he could feel the pulsating fright it produced overcome him. It made him hesitant and severely reduced his speed, but even still Medicham held his composure. "Heh, what happened to that fierce attacking spirit I saw before Jaeshan? Using a move like that now is almost like saying that you're gonna give into a big wave that looks to challenging. But I guess it's a valid strategy. Medicham, let's wipe 'em out with Thunder Punch!" Mechicham nodded, springing forward with his mighty legs, rearing his right first back as it began to surge with electrical energy. It sparked violently as it reached it's peak in power, Mechicham swinging it forward with tremendous force ready to smash apart the shiny silver pokemon.

"That's a Mudkip if I'm not mistaken, good type advantage for Rock type Pokemon like mine. But that won't be enough to get a win in a gym battle. Geodude, counter with Roll Out!" Geodude obeyed, immediately tucking in his arms and rolling rapidly in place. The mud washed over him but was repelled by his rapid spinning, mitigating the damage greatly as he shot off rolling directly towards the little blue Mudfish Pokemon. That Mudkip definitely seemed over confident, he would be glad to knock it down a peg or two and show her what a gym battle was really about.

"What the- Star move out of the way!" Star danced around gaily. Move out of the way of what? The pathetic little blob of rock? Then she was struck in the side by the pathetic little blob of rock. It hurt...she wasn't accustomed to feeling this much pain from an attack.
"Star! Water gun, while it's still near you!" Star, angry now, nodded unsmiling. She gathered the water jet in her mouth

"Good Geodude, come aroudn again for another strike!" Having hit the first time, Geodude gathered more momentum as he turned about and kept rollign back twords the Mudkip, only to be met with a strong jet of water. Geodude tried his best to plow through it, rolling as hard as he could to strike again, but even powered up the Roll Out wasn't enough and Geodude was forced out of his ball like form, knocked back by the jet of water. it stung like hell, but Geodude managed to keep focused as he stared down his opponent breathing more heavily than before. "Hmm, your Mudkip is strong indeed. But this isn't over yet." Geodude grunted in agreement, that did hurt but this wasn't his first pow wow. He was still rearing to go, determined now more than ever to take down this fishy blue pup.

This too is sacred... Unconsiously, Travis' hands clenched into fists as his memories carried him forward into the present day. Night had fallen fully outside Vermillion City's jail and the sounds of nocturnal Pokemon stole into his cell through the barred window. A HootHoot ghosted by on silent wings, completely unaware that it's movement mimicked that of another nightly Pokemon three nights earlier.
3 Nights Ago
A zubat flittered by Travis' head as he perched on the edge of the roof of the Pokemon Research Center in Pallet Town, the small Pokemon unaware that it had very nearly caused the theif to fall. Travis hated zubats and their ilk and had to clench his hands tightly together to keep from waving them about his head like a frightened child when it swooped too close. The zubat moved on and Travis exhaled sharply, shaking himself all over like a Growlithe before stepping over to the skylight above the research area.
Earlier in the day, posing as a new Trainer in need of a Pokedex and Pokeballs he had cased the center, gushing over Oak's research area and Pokemon while mentally taking note of where the windows were, how high off the floor they are and any obvious security. There didn't seem to be any guards but he imagined that some kind of system was inplace to stop exactly what he was about to do. Kneeling down next to the skylight he pulled some specialty tools out of his belt pouch and began, slipping quickly into the calm and focused mindset he usually aquired while 'working'. With ten years of experience robbing stores and Pokemarts, and straight out stealing Pokemon from Trainers and Breeders, Travis had no doubt that this operation would go as smoothly as all the others.
After a few minutes of silent probing and tinkering the skylight's alarm was disabled and the glass was open; nothing remained between him and the research except a 20ft drop to the floor. For that Travis removed a small coil of light thin rope from his packsack and tied it securely to a piton he had used earlier to climb to the rooftop, then released the rest of the rope down into the lab. The theif eased himself over the edge of the window and onto the rope then lowered himself hand over hand to the floor, the corded muscles in his arms stretching his black longsleeved shirt. The R emblazed on the front was done in a deep maroon, not so revealing as the usual red, and the long jogging style pants he wore were a matching midnight hue. He landed lightly on his feet and padded on silent feet to one of the many computers in the room, sliping his pack from his shoulders as he did so.
When the terminal switched on it immediately asked for a password; not even blinking the theif slipped a disc into the machine Giovanni had sent Marco and a few seconds later the password request disappeared, replaced instead by a black background covered in folders. He removed the disc and replaced it with another, then highlighted and dragged all the folders from the desktop into the discs' own folder. An hourglass and time appeared, counting down from 6 minutes-the time it would take to transfer the information. Travis sighed and ran a gloved hand over his indigo mop. Six whole minutes? Hmm...more than enough time to steal some Pokemon. He grinned and rose from the chair to search the room, carefully examining each machine until he found one holding a half dozen shiny red and white Pokeballs. A complicated locking keypad in multiple colours and covered in symbols kept him out, however, and he didn't want to smash it incase it had backup security.
Crouching down he looked underneath the metal and glass enclosure; sure enough four screws kept the base plate in place though it was hard to see in the dark. He lay down, squeezing his shoulders and head underneath and pulled a small screwdriver from another pouch. In a minute he had the baseplate off and was reaching into the holder blindly feeling about for the round, smooth shell of a Pokeball. His fingers brushed against exactly that and he pulled out four, unable to reach the farthest two due to the odd angle, and clutched them to his chest as he shimmied out. As he did so, one of the Pokeballs bounced free, a bright red light signalling the release of the Pokemon inside. Travis scrambled to his feet and backed away warily, his hands going to his own Pokeballs.
"Fantastic." he muttered as a large, confused looking Muk appeared to stink up his operation. ...love as thou wilt

Sam felt a small relief to see the attack had worked. She had been afraid that the Geodude would get the progressively more powerful attacks. She figured if the Water Gun had worked once, she might as well use it again. After all, the Geodude had a double weakness to water, and the Mystic Water was boosting her attacks.
"Star, again!"

Water Gun again, as expected. "Stay strong Geodude, hold your ground and use Rock Throw!" Geodude cried out with vigor as he dug into the ground and brought his hands up with a mighty force that ripped the very foundation apart. Large rocks and stones were uprooted in a mighty motion and were flung forcibly at the Mudkip. But all the while he was attacking Geodude was unable to defend and too the attack head on, the jet of water washing over him and sending him rolling backwards. Geodude sat there in a puddle with a dazed look in his eyes, he was done for. All he could hope for was that his attack did it's damage as well as he rolled back onto his upright position, holding himself up with his arms. If that didn't do the trick then it was over, because he wouldn't be able to move an inch after this. "Hang in there Geodude, be tough."

The rocks were flying fast towards Star. She couldn't straight out avoid them, there were too many.
"Star! Blast through the rocks with your Water Gun! But only the ones directly in front of you."
Star got to work, blasting each rock that came her way. The rocks splintered, creating thorns of rock that stuck in Star's skin. She cried out in pain. She had created the one thing that hurt more than actually getting hit by a boulder. Finally the rocks stopped flying. Star's chest heaved up and down, waiting for the next move. The thorns caused her discomfort each time she moved. She noticed with satisfaction that the Geodude was also having trouble.

Geodude grunted but Brock shook his head and called him back. "No Geodude, you're out of this battle."
"And the fist round goes to the challenger!" The judge called, raising the flag towards Sam as he made his announcement. "Will Leader brock now send out his second and final pokemon!"
Brock nodded, ever serious as he held his second pokeball out in front of him. "Not bad, but your gym challenge ends here. Come on out Onix!" Brock threw his second pokeball into the battle field, the light taking the form of something much much larger than the small Geodude. When the light faded, the giant Rock Snake pokemon that was Onix sat there, towering over everyone in the gym as he let out a mighty roar that shook the loose pebbles that were on the ground. "This is my trusty Onix, are you up to the task? Make your move trainer."

Outwardly, she kept her somewhat calm and happy demeanor, but inwardly Sam was intimidated by the huge pokemon. She was happy about Star defeating the Geodude, but what if Brock was right? It could end right here. Star pretended not to notice the gigantic pokemon looming over her, not willing to admit she was terrified of being crushed by the extra heavy pokemon.
"Another Rock/Ground type eh? We can take it. Star, try and get some mud in the Onix's eyes!"

Daemyn and Tora were racing neck to neck, heads two centimeters from the ground at dangerous speeds, knocking over innocent bystanders and umbrellas and ice cream carts in the process. M.A. watched with a grimace from up above, offering her condolences to the victims below with a remorseful gesture on behalf of her two miscreants. Thank god she was sitting on Maxine up in the skies; it'd be impossible for her to pay for the damages (namely the spilled beach concessions) with the limited funds she had. Speaking of Maxine, though, she probably wasn't very impressed with Team Double Trouble's conduct and M.A.'s ability to control their wildness, the pale brunette sighed to herself. Add that to her losing the Tropius' egg and there seemed very little chance that the mother would allow her to keep it. But as long as they found it safe and sound, she supposed it'd be okay.
The two scouts didn't even pause before they rushed headlong into a relatively small tunnel in the cliffs, though Maxine sure did. The mother looked torn; was her baby in there? She couldn't go in, she could hardly stick half of her body in from the looks of it. "We'll find the egg for sure! Don't worry," M.A. said, fully trusting her Pokemons' nasal capabilities. "Just wait here!" she added impulsively before proceeding on. Diego sighed and slipped off the dinosaur himself; he figured he'd better watch over the other three, since all of them lacked some common sense or another. "Why don't you find your trainer? Just in case," the artist suggested pragmatically with a yawn before plodding into the tunnel himself. Too troublesome, really. But it'd be even more troublesome to search for his master by himself, you know, so he might as well stick with this brunette child.

FREE BEAUTY ORIENTATION, the banner boated proudly. That's right, you guessed it. It was time for Jun and company to play hone their skills and make the world that much more faboosh.
All sorts of people began to gather at this curious make-shift stage to the left of the PokeCenter, murmuring curiously as to what this show could be all about. Half of them had seen the ostentatious presentation set up at this strategic place, while the other half had been led to the place by a curiously soothing, lovely scent -- courtesy of Posh, of course, who specialized in this kind of thing. "Hello beautiful people of Hearthome! My name is Jun FIERCE (and this is Demi the Jynx and Posh the Roselia) and we're here today to add a little magic to your /visage/. Any volunteers?"
There was a quiet murmur in the crowd, but no one raised a hand. "Come, come, don't be scared! We're pro-fesh-nals!" he grinned, flashing a winning smile as he jumped off the little stage (who knows where he found it from) and entered the crowd himself. "Ah, you! You look like you need a little touchin' up. Come up with me darling!" The frumpy-looking woman was justly offended by his remark but somehow found his grip on her wrist unbreakable. Willing or not, she was dragged onto the stage and made to sit in a lawn-chair. "Everyone, a big round of applause for -- what's your name -- oh, now that's not a nice thing to say -- c'mon, beautiful, give me the name of the woman who's stolen my heart! -- a big round of applause for COURTNEY!" And Jun led the way with his little rapid side clap, and the crowd decided they might as well clap too. Jun had that kind of pull on people, you know. Even Courtney, who had frankly told him to ******** off, managed a little smile under all the applause.
"Every woman is B-E-A-UTIFUL," Jun announced, and the audience answered with a skeptic gaze at Courtney, who looked a little bit like the overweight version of the Ring girl. "In just fifteen minutes, we'll polish this raw oaf -- I mean ore, ore! -- into a diamond. Ready? We'll... begin!" Jun cried, and to the side, on a table, a large digital clock started counting down. Then the frenzy began.
Demi was in charge of hair, and in frightening speed began to blowdry, straighten, brush the woman's hair before setting such appliances down and beginning to cut with five different scissors, two in her own hands and three floating via Psychic. As for Posh, she typically functioned as the behind-the-scenes manager, making sure Jun didn't forget this product or whatever, and so generally just sat to the side emitting that lovely, relaxing smell of hers. Jun, meanwhile, took care of make-up and skin care and brow waxing; though he specialized in clothing, he was extremely well-rounded after all these years of self-study and practice. "Nuh-not done yet!" he cried frantically to the crowd after ten minutes and pulled a black curtain out to hide the model.
"W-wait what are you -- wait what are you doing!" the woman cried. "Don't touch m -- hey!" Rustling was heard, as well as Jun's laughter. A few moments later the woman gasped. "That's really me?"
"See, I told you, you have /so/ much potential; all you must do is use it, darling. Such beautiful skin, don't /hide/ it!"
"AAAAND TA-DAA! The finished product!" Jun now yelled, pulling aside the curtain to reveal a positively glowing woman in a rather svelte black dress, wonderfully curled hair that wrapped her heart-shaped face like a halo and a shy expression wearing smoking eyes and red lips. It was a stunning transformation, though Jun frankly wasn't as satisfied as he pretended to be; fifteen minutes was a bit short, you know? And he didn't have enough money to give nice shoes to women, y'know.
Applause broke out and Jun playfully kissed the dazed woman on the lips before she stumbled off the stage.
"I'm taking two more freebies today, ladies and playboys! Who's next? Just the dames right now, but if you stud muffins want a little extra-extra piece of Jun, come over after the show~"
