((OOC: You're confused? Hell, I don't even know who I take orders from! Much less get a new mission. I assume it is Mr. F, but Frogtaur doesn't post as often as some of the others and when he does it's not always as Mr. Forgle. No offense, of course.))

((
I think that should be a few minutes or hours, rather than four days. Sorry, but making four days pass without any sort of warning is not friendly RPing.

Sonny, Larry may take orders from Mr. Forgle, but you take orders from whoever
you please (and Xinrie, but she hasn't been on recently). I've got an idea for what to do next, though...

Personell shortages. The mercenary company was constantly experiencing personell shortages, as Mr. Forgle knew well. He never kept his assistants for long before they were called away for those missions. He couldn't even guess what they gained from missions, since the entire company could retire just by selling off the contents of the vehicle bay. Grumbling to himself, he searched the halls for Larry. Like all noncombatants, he had spent the battle holed up in the fortified bunker the Mishaps called a basement. He had been scared to death, but the technical crew had cheerfully taken the opportunity to pass out orders to take effect whenever the danger was over. Mr. Forgle seriously wondered about the sanity of his employers sometimes. "Larry?" he called down a corridor. Hearing no response, he walked over to another wing of the building to continue his search. Along the way, he looked at the mission sheet he was supposed to give to the boy. An employee named Cyrith had vanished recently, and the company wanted to find him. He couldn't blame them for that, but the man had disappeared while looking for... cheese? Mercenary work was strange, to say the least.

((
Magnavar's rather amusing cheese mission runs between pages 211 and 214.

Larry located Mr. F after hearing him call his name. "Right here, boss." Larry said walking up to him "You wouldn't happen to have a new job for me?" As he finished speaking, Larry looked intently into the face of the man he now called boss. His eyes casually glanced at the folder. Even though he faced an eventual assassination attempt by Darya, which may or may not come in a mission, Larry was still dying to get to work.

((I said I'm sorry. I completely forgot people are not on the same page as me all the time. Anyways, I'm going to continue what I already started. Sorry about the confusion.

By the way, I've given names to my weapons. I thought just calling them "the katars" was getting old, so I came up with names. Just so you know.))

LOCATION: Library, MMHQ
OBJECTIVE: classified

Riku walked into the library, slowly drawing his newly reforged katars. After some consideration, he had finally done what he never had thought he would do: given them names. His new weapons, the Hellion Angels, gleamed in the light that reflected off the blades. He focused, then began moving at top speed, the library walls and shelves blurring past him.

He had been sent to the deepest part of the library, where some of the most ancient texts were held. There, he had to find one of the oldest, said to be older than this world itself. Written in an ancient world long gone, it contained vital information that was needed to take down Thanatos, as well as his new ally Kavinsky. Whatever it was, it was important enough for Kavinsky to use a weapon that was SUPPOSED to be a hundred years ahead of the time to destroy it- and the whole MMHQ as well.

As Riku sped on, the library seemed to grow- older. Suprisingly, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, other than the library's size, and the occasional flying book. He finally reached the section he was looking for, and skidded to a halt. This section seemed old enough to have been around during the time of Moses; the walls, though old, were in suprisingly good condition. He sheathed the Angels and began skimming the books, looking for a specific book; the Apocrypha, a text that held information about Thanatos himself, as well as an ancient race, long thought to be extinct: the Chaosmongers.

((Hey, Yue and Snake, I did make an RP post on the last page, wondering if you saw it.))

Waking up was not something Cyrith wanted to do right now. His vision swam if he opened his eyes, even if it was dark in his cell. Have you ever had darkness swim in your sight? Enough to make one vomit. Trying to remember what happened wasn't that great either. But, still, he persevered, and eventually got some of the facts.

Cyrith noticed that one of the guards had left the door unlocked, and he decided to jump on the chance. It was too bad that they took his weaponry, although he could fight without it.

Running through the dungeons, Cyrith was a little put off by the fact hat there wasn't anybody down there. Not even any prisoners. As he was turning the corner, however, he noticed some guards coming in his direction. Trying a move he had seen before, he jumped off the wall, and onto a support beam for the ceiling. Or, that had been his attempt. Instead, he missed after not jumping high enough, and fell to the ground in a crumpled heap. Then the guards came upon him.

"Told ya he'd try to escape. Now, Griff, you owe me five lunches."

"Damn. And I thought he was too stupid to try to escape, although he was pretty dumb right now. Don't worry, I'll give your lunches next week. Need to get paid, first."

Cyrith groaned, and stood up. He just sighed at the guards surrounding him, if you count three in front a full surrounding. Pulling his fists up, he threw a punch into one of the guards' face, only to start howling in pain when he punched the faceplate of the man's helm instead. Then, he saw stars and lights. Then, he knew no more.

Yep, his hand was still a bit bruised, but it was his pride that hurt worse. All he had wanted was some cheese for his sandwich, but nooooo. He got drug into a psycho's dream for world conquest. And it wasn't even by taking by force. Nope, no sirree. It was an attrition battle, one waged by stealing the world's supply of cheese, and forcing the world to bow down to his superiority.

There were two major hitches to his plan, only one of which was actually known to him. The known one, was Cyrith himself, in his quest for cheese. The other, unknown one? Cows. Cows and farmers, and the amazing ability to produce their own cheese. Yep this guy was a loony, and he still had Cyrith behind bars. How pathetic could you get? Cyrith just sat up, and sulked in the dark corner.

((I was waiting for a post from Magiking. I think I am going to wait a couple more hours before skipping him.))

((Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you'd go ahead and skip me. ))
Yue looked around. It was really difficult.
There it was in a quantity that would sate every fiber of his being. Though the quality of the drink would most likly be regected only living a sour taste in his mouth and the undeniable lust for some untainted blood.
His pale features darted from the room, he ran up stairs and sneaked himself to the room.
'I need some air.' The thought presented himself. Yue had found an escape. Here, he could gaze freely at the full moon. It was here, he could bask in the healing rays of the celestial body.
"Blood." The word slipped from his lips as he stared across the town. "Untainted Blood."

Joel accepted Riku's news, although inwardly he was working out how much harder this job might be without him. "All right. We'll catch up with you later, Requiem." He slammed the phone down, a bit more forcefully than he had intended. Turning to Agrotera, he summarized the conversation. "Requiem got called off. It's just you and me this time."

"Oh. There you are." Mr. Forgle said. "I lost track of you outside of the infirmary, and you weren't in th basement, so I was worried that you had gotten lost, you know?" He didn't say anything about the battle. Admitting that the battle had happened would force him to accept that the grounds weren't as safe as he had thought.

"Anyway, you guessed right. I do have a job for you. Apparently an agent up and vanished while he was shopping. All of the regular agents are too busy to look for him, so management decided to send you." He handed the mission sheet to Larry. The mission sheet offered very few clues on where to look. While it said what Cyrith had been driving, and where he had been seen last, any detective work after that had been left to Larry.

"I'm also supposed to give you a code name, which you're supposed to use whenever you're out on a mission." Mr. Forgle scratched his head. "I couldn't think of one, though. What do you suggest?"

((OOC: For your information, I used the ABC Network's "LOST Sawyer Nickname Generator" to generate this one. I put in Larry's name and features and Sawyer nicknamed me...))

Larry thought for a second. What would he like to be called? He looked at the ground first, then the ceiling. Then finally he looked Mr. Forgle in the eye and said "Gee, sir. I haven't the slightest. But I'm kinda toyin' with 'Freebird', now how does that sound?"

Immediately after he said it, he cringed a little bit. Where he came from, there was a stigma attached to presenting a nickname for yourself. And twice as much if you came on trying to make yourself sound tough.

He simply held out his hand for the file after that and prepared in his mind for the worst.

((I knew I would not have to skip you Magiking.))

Sokato was happy to see Rusty, he would have never have forgiven himself for loosing an old Russian man in the woods.
"Of course we can still do this with three people. Reaper would have just gotten in the way. I am rather glad we lost him." Ace certainly was speaking his mind about the kid.
"Just don't let the commander know I am that happy about our loss." Ace said chuckling. He then pointed at the open door.
"Well, I would go in and maybe get a drink than go upstairs to the room and get some sleep. You start patrol tomorrow." Ace patted Rusty on the shoulder than went upstairs to the room to fetch the great sword. Ace will be taking the night and day shift for the entire duration of the mission.

Back at Mishap Mercenaries HQ, the android was done with guard duty unlike Sokato. The android walked into Sokato's office and sat down in the chair. He retrieved a fire wire cable. The port opened on the android's neck. He plugged it into him and then the computer. He then started a program. It's purpose was to retrieve and analyze the diagnostic data taken from the fight today. It would then use that data to fine tune the android. It means simply this, every battle survived would make him stronger.
'I wonder what those people are doing. It was exciting fighting along side some one.'

Riku wandered further into the library. Now, he began to get a strange feeling, similar to the one the first time he had entered the library. The feeling he was being watched. He stepped carefully, keeping aware of his surroundings, watching for even the slightest movement near him. He had been attacked the first time here, he wasn't about to get caught off guard again.

At the same time, he kept scanning the books, looking for the Apocrypha. He knew what it would look like; it would have a mark on the cover similar to the one on his back. It would also be extremely old; so old, in fact, that he might not be able to take it out without risking damage to it. As he ran his left hand on the library wall (he was following the "Left Hand Rule", where keeping your left hand on the maze wall would lead you out), he could feel the age of the books, almost as if they were alive.

Suddenly, one book caught his hand. Only it didn't feel like a book; more like a scroll, like what they used in ancient Egypt. Whatever it was, he had caught his hand on it, and cut it. He reached out and grabbed a small tube. It WAS a scroll. He steadily pulled it out, taking care not to pull it out too fast. He looked at the small handle at the end, which had caught his hand. It had a small shape at the end, like a star with eight points made of arrows. Sure enough, one corner of the star had blood on it. He had not just found the Apocrypha, it had given him a paper cut. Riku smirked at the irony.

He carefully carried it over to a small table, and unfolded it with the utmost care. Another star adorned the top, along with large words in another language. Riku knew what the language was: Apocalyptic, a language that probably hadn't been spoken in this world since the Tower of Babel= if ever. Fortunately, Riku knew Apocalyptic- in his world, it was as common as Mandarin Chinese in this world. He began reading the text, and as he read, he pulled out a small device and began scanning it. He needed to save this for later- he couldn't take the Apocrypha out of the library.

What he read shocked him. It was all here: Thanatos, the Chaosmongers, everything. He finished scanning it, then put the scanner away. He began to fold up the scroll, when.....

A fireball struck the table in front of him.
