"Hey, I'm not saying I wasn't looking forward to it," Jack said with a playful grin.
He let out a quiet sigh as he leaned back and laid down on the bed. He took in a deep breath as he closed his eyes.
"How glad I am I met you," Jack said.

Astarte blushed, never knowing any man who appreciated her like this. She then frowned, "This isn't good for your line of work, is it?"

"For my position its fine."
Jack sat up and looked over at Astarte.
"Like I said, I'm a guardian. Like JR said, I'm basically patrol. I only intervene when another race is breaking the law... well, when any race does actually."
He smiled warmly at her.
"So far in my presence, you haven't really done anything wrong."

She smiled, "Well sir, I won't lie to you, I am a killer. I love who I am, I was born who I am, and I love to kill. I love blood."

"Like I said... it's not in my presence."
He spoke the truth. Under certain circumstances, he couldn't do anything until he beared witness. He groaned loudly.
"Besides... we both killed. Everyone involved in this thing has one time or another. God knows there's motives were different."
Jack turned his head and looked out the window. His hand twitched. He groaned quietly as he looked back at Astarte.

She leaned in and kissed him longingly. Catching a wiff of his half human blood. The side still alive, still active, still warm and full of life. "You're so nice." She breathed.

He grinned.
"I try to be."
He gave her a tender kiss back. He wrapped his arms around and didn't want to let go. He instantly felt some connection with her when she talked to him... and he'd make sure that connection wasn't broken.

She rested her head on his shoulder and slowly wrapped her arms around him. She knew that he had felt the connection, and felt suprised. She's never known anyone who felt like that for her before. "Thank you..." She started.

Jack smiled as he brought a hand to the back of her head, holding her closely and tightly. He smiled as he kissed her on her forehead.
"What can I say? You're different from everyone else."

"You actually gave me a chance. Unlike the others you didn't shoot me down right away at first sight."

"I'm not a crazy killer. Besides, you talked to me first. You got me interested in you." She laughed, "Plus, there is something about Damphir's that make me feel..." SHe giggled.

"Yeah, well... I guess you got lucky, huh?" Jack asked with a smile.
Jack narrowed his eyes when he leaned his head in. He continued to smile though, giving him an odd, devious look.
"You know... I almost knew I'd somehow be with a vampire."

Jack laughed quietly.
"God and life have different things planned. Unfortunately for me they're usually bad things."
Jack placed his hand under Astarte her chin and gave her a smile. He kissed her gently on the lips.
"You're the first good thing that happened my whole life."
