Gwyn felt herself getting off track again, but what did she care. She had a crazy teacher, which gave her almost no reason to rush through this silly little task. Though, her body was doing almost all the work for her, it felt like it had not even been half a minute yet already she had instinctively found 8 out of the seals with little difficulty. But who could really tell how long she had been there, Gwyn hardly had any perception of time, she knew when the sun was up and when the sun was down and a few hours before each roughly, but otherwise time was a foreign concept to her. After all what was an hour? A measurement of change. For a person that could hardly sense change in the world around her it meant nothing.

Gwyn let her mind settle as she picked at the ground. Pulling up bits of grass here and there. The blades came up easily due to the soft ground, and slowly she acquired a small pile. She picked up the pile and scattered it around mindlessly, she didn't even know why she was doing it. Perhaps because it gave her body something to do while her mind worked. How silly. Gwyn though laying her hands in her lap. She picked at her fingers and twiddled her thumbs and her brain was consumed in thoughts of the future. When Gwyn finally snapped out of her daze she shook her head, what was she doing? Waisting so much time, just because there was no need to rush through didn't mean rushing through would be a bad thing.

Gwyn swiftly got back to work on her handseal. Running through the eight she knew again and again. She suddenly stopped on the eighth and prepped herself for the ninth. She knew she knew it somewhere deep within her. Somehow her body would find a way to bring it to the surface. No sooner did she think this did her fingers begin twisting and collapsing into place. Ram. Gwyn placed her palms together with her hands pointing upward. Following that she placed her left pinky and ring finger between the right ring finger and right middle finger, keeping the left middle and index finger pointed upward. She finished by curling all the fingers on her right hand except the thumb, which should remain extended. With that the seal was complete, and once again Gwyn felt the power of the seal flow through her. She was nearing the end of her practicing, only three seals stood between her and the end.

“Textures…” Tarou pondered at what Gwyn told him, pinching his hair between his fingers to feel his hair. He didn’t really get it. His texture felt like hair. It was sort of really soft for normal hair though, and it almost felt like fur, but a bit finer. ‘oh wait, that’s a texture.’ He thought absent-mindedly, not really understanding what he just said. He then went to feel his shirt, his skin, and even tried his eyes, but opted to feel his eyelashes instead. His shirt felt like… well, a shirt. He noticed however, that the texture of it was nice and soft, unlike normal shirts which sometimes felt uncomfortable. It was proof that it was very well-worn and washed numerous times. His skin was just… smooth. He was too young to be getting any form of acne on his face, and although he spent a lot of time outside, he still had the baby skin texture. He didn’t have enough eyelashes to really grasp the texture of them, but they felt soft and fine, sort of like silk.

Pondering all of these things, he finally sat up, looking over to Gwyn with a (comical) determined look on his face. “My hair kind of feels like animal fur, and my skin’s like a baby’s. My shirt is really soft, like those shirts that get worn out from washing too many times. My eyelashes feel like… really fine hair.” With an excited grin on his face, he asked enthusiastically; “Was that better?”

Seeing as he had already gotten up, he decided to try for another push up. He was actually still pretty tired, but he didn’t think it mattered too much. He wasn’t feeling faint or anything, and he could probably afford to do at least one push up. Having no more trouble with his posture he went down on his arm. He was able to go down but he had trouble pushing up, and instead decided to just roll onto the ground. It was stupid how he couldn’t really do it. Maybe there was something he was doing wrong.

Sighing, Tarou planted his face into the dirt, getting a nice whiff of the nature forcing its way into his mouth and nose. Nature still smelled the same wherever he went; not the same smell but it was the same thing, if that made sense. It definitely still smelt the same when it was going up his nose, and although he greatly appreciated nature, he didn’t want it going up his nose. Rolling over onto his back at that thought, he exhaled quickly through his nose, forcing dirt and other questionable living organisms out of his nose. Sniffling, he rubbed his nose to get the itchiness out but sneezed a few times, his attempts not helping him much at all.

He wondered why his attempts at push ups weren’t working. He had his posture correct, Gwyn had even said so. He knew that he wasn’t quite trying, but he felt that it wasn’t a very big deal. When was trying hard a big deal, for push ups? He knew that if he was sparring or in a life-or-death situation, trying was definitely worth it unless you wanted to end up dead. But for push ups, which were all about strength, he couldn’t quite see the importance of being determined.

He was suddenly taken back to a few months ago, in Konoha. He remembered trying to climb a tree, but he just couldn’t get to the top. He had fallen down a few times and even cried very loudly at it, his little brother joining him when he sensed his brother’s distress. Tarou was pretty childish back until a few years ago, and he definitely still cried easily. His mother, who was quite jolly back then, had come out of the house to see what all the commotion was about, and then laughed, before going back inside. This resulted in even louder sobs from Tarou and his younger brother, and continued until his father came back from town. By the time his father came back. There were broken branches, scraped knees, and lots of wasted tears.

His father had actually set him down on his lap, Jirou watching, and told him that there was no use crying. He would just have to try harder and put his mind to it. But that wasn’t all. Tarou was told to use his brain instead of crying all the time, and think of how to get up there. In the end, tarou had actually stacked kitchenware on top of each other and used that to get onto the tree. There was much bickering from his mother after that, but he had at least gotten on the tree. It didn’t really mean that Tarou stopped crying or even started to use his head more. He still cried a lot and was clueless more than he wasn’t. His crying did stop around the time that he came to Kirigakure, and that was that.

With that memory fond in his head he grinned almost stupidly. He could hardly believe that he was the small kid that cried when he couldn’t do what he wanted to do. He felt like he was supposed to learn something from that flashback but really couldn’t put his fingers on it. Well, he did know that he was supposed to put his mind on it…? Trying to remember the flashback and how it applied to his activity now, he attempted to make sense of it. Suddenly it came to mind; put your mind to it. He had to think of how he would do it, and keep on trying until he was finished. Well, he could do that. And technically, that was the exact same thing as being determined. Seeing the big picture far more clearly now, he couldn’t even imagine why he thought that there’d be no use in being determined.

Tarou chuckled to himself. He still had a far ways to go. Getting into his position again, he decided to actually see things through this time, painfully pushing himself down. He was able to get down but he went very slowly. He then pushed himself up, also going so slow, that he felt as if a few good years had passed by while he was doing it. Although he was able to do the push up in the end, he counted that as a failure, heaving a sigh. He couldn’t help but smile lightly though. For once, he had remembered something that didn’t give him a bad feeling, and it felt kind of good, following advice that his father had given him some time ago.

He sort of felt faint again however, and knew that he had expended too much energy. He rolled down to the ground and closed his eyes, deciding that he would take this time to rest once again.

Tarou was such an interesting character. Most people would have left the whole, not being able to see, thing as it were, but here he ways trying to explain himself to her through textures. Slowly Gwyn pieced together what he was saying and formed it in to a singular being. What came out what how she envisioned every human. It was quite silly for him to attempt to find meaning in the way she saw the world, but she did give him an A for effort. "Much better." Gwyn humored him, after all her had spent the time to try and figure out how to describe it properly. And he had done a fine job at it, but nothing was going to change the fact that everything always looked the same to Gwyn.

A small sadness took hold of Gwyn's face, it seemed Tarou was having trouble doing push-up's still. It was him just not having the physical strength to continue, and less with the fact he didn't have the will or want to do it. Everything about what he had just done was perfect. The form, the desire, the envisioned end goal, but even that is not enough if you do not have enough raw strength to back it up. The young girl wished she could help in some other way, lend him her strength, not that she had much herself. She sighed when she resolved to knowing this was just a task he was going to have to do himself. "You should really rest a bit before attempting to do that again." Gwyn warned him, chuckling a bit to herself. Tarou didn't need her advise though, it appeared he was already resting before the thought even crossed her mind.

"Tarou, can I ask you something?" Gwyn fiddled with her fingers, trying to think of a way to ask her question, "What do you suppose is going to happen to us... After we graduate?" That thought had long been pestering Gwyn. She knew almost nothing of the world, of missions, of anything really. She was so ill-experienced, like a baby born into a war. She knew shinobi were sent out on mission to achieve goal for their kage, and she had just always been curious to what that entailed. But perhaps she was getting to far ahead of herself. After all, why worry about things like that when she still didn't even know all twelve of the simple hand seals? Gwyn stopped twiddling her thumbs and began work once again on the seals.

Gwyn instinctively skipped the first nine hand seals, her mind like a freight train headed straight for the tenth. She achieved it in what felt like no time at all. Gwyn placed her hands together, palms touching, with her left hand about an inch lower than her right. She curled her left hand's pinky and ring fingers and straighten its middle and index fingers. With her right hand, she griped the side of the left hand's middle and index finger, and then curled her index finger over the tips of the pointed fingers on her left hand. The tenth seal, the Rat.

Gwyn was getting excited with her progress. She was nearing the end and soon she would be able to move on to real training with Tarou. She thought long and carefully about what key aspects of herself she would like to improve. She wanted to be stronger that was for sure, but not only physically, but mentally as well. She wanted to be as smart as she was fast, so that she could calculate and come to a conclusion about what to do in split seconds, instead of the larger increments it now took her to processes things. She knew she was going to need to have her chakra be as strong and big as possible to. Because no matter how strong a person could swing a sword it didn't really matter if supernatural abilities came in to play now did it?

As Gwyn listed things she wanted to improve about herself she began to also think of the type of ninja she would specialize in. What she had learned from stories her parents and elders shared was that there were three basic forms of jutsu. Genjutsu, or illusions, had always caught Gwyn's imagination. The ability to bend people to your will, or drive them completely mad without even having to lift a finger, it was a definitely a pleasing choice in the young girls mind. Ninjutsu covered a wider area of supportive. offensive, and defensive powers. Gwyn knew what great powers could be driven from ninjutsu. There had been stories of people moving mountains, controlling the sea and sky, even setting entire villages aflame in the blink of an eye. Taijutsu, which was first to first fighting, had never really peaked Gwyn's interest. She had never been that great of a fighter, and with the impairments she had she doubt she would ever be as good as an able bodies person, of course there were tales of Yubie fighters that could take down 1000 ninja without getting a scratch on them, but like most stories Gwyn had her doubts about their authenticity.

None of that meant anything if she couldn't get through this training however. Gwyn felt herself getting so close to the end. Two seals stood between... Scratch that, one seal stood between her and true training. Gwyn felt her hand. It had been running through the seals while she was off thinking about the future, but here in her hands sat the next seal, the second to last before Gwyn was finished. She placed her hands together and pointed them forward. Placing her left thumb above and behind her right thumb. Lacing her index, middle and ring fingers together she finished by pointing both pinky fingers toward the ground. Snake.

Tenshi had walked around the training field watching the others intently. Gaining whatever knowledge he could from the others. He seemed to be succeeding at failing, and that was the opposite of what he wanted. He wanted to rise above the others, especially when it came to chakra molding and other related topics. His clan was supposed to be one of the great clans at chakra control and he couldn't seem to get the basics down. Yeah, yeah, I know... you need the basic building blocks before you can try the advanced techniques... but why do the basics need to be so complicating? If the basics are this bad, what about the more advanced stuff? He shook his head before sitting back down in the soft grass where he sat down before. He glanced at Gwyn who had managed to get the second to last seal. She never quits... perhaps I should take her enthusiasm into consideration...

Tenshi had tried again, but he still couldn't find the chakra. He then tried the most ridiculous thing.... stuck two fingers below his jaw line and found his pulse. "Well I'm not dead.... so I must have a flow of chakra..." He gave a sigh. This being his one millionth try he had lost all hope of ever completing this task, however he remembered Gwyn's will to carry on with her assignment no matter how many times she failed. I can do it... I just need to keep trying...

Tenshi, being prepared for a draining day, had packed a few things with him. Nothing out of the ordinary, such as weapons, but more.... healthier, such as, food! He leaned against a tree and unwrapped a fish sandwich that he had helped prepare at his home, by helping he had placed the fish on the pieces of bread and added some butter and other stuff. His mother had cooked it and actually prepared the food for him, which was probably a good thing seeing as he knew very little about cooking. He had read once that a way to keep one's chakra capacity up was to eat a healthy, well balanced diet. Whether he had believed it or not is still yet to be determined, but he tried to stick to it just in case it was correct.

He took a canteen from his side that had been filled with water. Being a Fubuki meant being well hydrated was also a plus. Granted they could just make ice and melt it to drink, but the ice had to come from somewhere. Often times, clan members would place the canteen on the wrong side of the body and thus freeze the water in the canteen. It was usually the younger ones that did it, but if an adult did, they wouldn't stop hearing about it for months. After failing these last couple times he was beginning to look forward to the hand seals, and hopefully be good at them rather than the chakra molding. One thing he couldn't wait for was utilizing the techniques into performing jutsu, even the simplest jutsu would be exciting!

Gwyn's mind was buzzing at one hundred miles per hour. Information was flowing into her as such an alarming rate she was afraid her head was going to explode. It was as if her senses had unleashed the floodgates of her surroundings. She could feel the bugs crawling in the earth, the birds flying silently in the forest, even Tarous breath. She could feel all of it within her. She didn't know how or what she simply knew things. She knew that her clock had a snag on its seven hundred and thirty six thousandth horizontal fiber strand. She didn't know why all this information was hitting her so uncontrollably. Had it been because she had spent so long keeping it out that her barriers simply couldn't stand up to the torrent? Could she truly have been blocking out so much? Even on a simple day Gwyn had never absorbed this much information about a singular place... Perhaps this was happening because she wasn't moving, her sixth sense had spent so long saturated in a single area that it had become hyper aware... But that meant...

Gwyn could feel her hands tremble, but she didn't want to waist the time. Quickly she ran through the eleven handseals, skipping the twelfth on purpose, she wanted to prove a point to herself. Faster and faster she went through all of the seals, always skipping the twelfth until she chose to. Until Gwyn herself consciously chose to move on. She wanted to prove to herself that she was in control of herself, she wasn't some mere meat puppet to be used by her sixth sense, she had a will. So finally time arrived when Gwyn wanted to form the twelfth seal, and she formed it with no trouble. Placing her palms together she laced her pinky and ring fingers together, keeping the middle fingers, index fingers and thumbs pointing upward. The twelfth seal, Tiger. Chear exploded in her mind as she shot to her feet. "I did it Tarou, I did it." Gwyn quickly regained control of herself, how stupid had she just looked, so excited over completing such a juvenile task.

"Excuse me." Gwyn spoke coolly, a large smile still plastered on her face. Her first step in training had been completed, it was time to begin training on herself as a person. If she was to become the leader she needed herself to be, it would start here, and now, at the academy.

“I don’t know…” tarou pondered. Of course he didn’t know the exact details of what would happen when they graduated, he knew the typical paths: Go on missions, go higher in ranks, maybe settle down, and then death. “Well, we’d become Gennin, get our forehead protectors, go on missions, have some dramatic quests and events…” He trailed. “we’d go up some ranks, maybe die on the way… then we’d maybe settle down, get old, and then die.” He shrugged, giving Gwyn an ‘oh-well’ look. “I do know that we’ll be kicking a** wherever we go though.” He said, grinning. They had better kick a**, or Tarou was going to throw a fit. As in, angrily train forever until he got better, or died of exhaustion.

With a smile still on his lips, he ran his hand through his hair, bringing them back to his face to rub his eyes. He was feeling especially tired this time, from doing all the push ups… and then failing. Maybe this time he should rest for a longer amount of time. He knew that he probably had to try this time, although he was so horribly lazy that he really just wanted to stop. He watched idly as Gwyn went through the hand seals faster than she had before. It was just how Tarou had done it, and he felt happy for her. Now if he could only learn from his failures and get better at the push ups…

"I did it Tarou, I did it."

He was startled out of his wits when Gwyn suddenly shot up from the ground, and he almost went to cover his face from any possible threats. He was pleasantly surprised however, when she voiced her triumph. Laughing at her excitement, he clapped his hands loudly. “Good job! Give me five.” He said, holding his hand out. It was low on the ground since he was lying down, but he trusted that Gwyn could find it with her sixth sense or something. “Now come and do these push ups with me. I’m really really bored, and tired of it.” He whined playfully, though he really wished that she would join him.

Mizuiro next thought about what other hiding devices he could use. What about something that looked like a rock or a tree? He looked around and tried to figure out how to do these things. He wondered if he just use the cloak for the rock, and use is body to make the jagged shape he needed. So he got down to the ground and covered himself completely with the cloak and concentrated chakra to make the cloak turn int a rough gray like any other rock, but then thought about the grain details, cracks and toning it so it looked like many kinds of minerals within it.

He then just lay still for a bit, see if anyone noticed this new rock that was there, and wondered where it came from.

Tarou stretched, rolling over and burying his face into the dirt. He wanted to get started on the push ups as soon as possible, but he knew that if he was tired, he would just pass out and then waste even more time. Besides, if Gwyn did also do the push ups, it would just be unfortunate if she finished before him.

Deciding that the dirt really wasn't a very comfortable resting spot for his face, (the dirt was getting everywhere, and he was sure he was going to break out, or whatever teenagers were always worrying about) he brought his hands up to his face, deciding to use his hands as a surface to smash his face in to. He soon stopped however, when he realized that it was harder to breathe this way.

He remembered a time when his brother and he had just lied there, looking up at the sky. They were hoping to see some clouds, but because they lived in a forest, it wasn't possible. They instead, just looked up at the green leaves and the birds, listening to the various sounds mother nature made. when their father had come back, Tarou and Jirou asked him to take him where they could see the clouds, and they proceeded to walk to a clearing.

when they got there, there were only wispy clouds in the air. It was a bit disappointing, but it was fun nonetheless. Looking up at the sky now, all he could see was mist. It was slightly disheartening, but he supposed that it was just a change of the atmosphere, and he'd get used to it soon enough.

Now that Gwyn had mentioned it, he really pondered the question. He had given the girl an answer without thinking, and he didn't think he gave her a wrong answer. But the details of his future were sort of foggy. Unlike most people, he wasn't planning on destroying the village of Konoha for killing his mother. He only saw it as something that saddened him, and he knew that he would need to use his wisdom to decide what to do about that. (he already considered himself a little bit wise, since he wasn't planning on destroying the whole village.)

Until then, he supposed he would just do missions. He hoped that he wouldn't die from them, for it would be a really unfortunate way to go. He hoped that Gwyn was in his team at least, so that they could work together and do all that cool stuff that friends did.
