Allen some hadn't even noticed the other person in the room till he'd been greeted, "Mm? It sure is isn't it?" He turned to watch through a nearby window for a moment, "It's a shame though, so many of us are too busy to really enjoy it." He lingered a moment before moving to his original destination, the fridge, to swipe a bottle of water and move to the table, "You know, I normally have a pretty good memory when it comes to names, but for some reason I cannot remember yours." he gestured to his head and shrugged as he spoke.

Rei laughed, not offended in the least.
"It's Rei. Rei Hikari. And I can safely say, I don't remember yours in the slightest. My apologies." He lowered his hood in an act of goodwill, his short yellow-orange hair poking out every which way.
"I'm afraid I'm a bit out of the loop again. Did you enjoy the party?" he asked, referring to the old invitation.

"Oh, it's Allen Embers. I guess I would be pretty safe to say that it's nice to meet you as well." He chuckled and noticed Rei's invitation as he mentioned it, "The party itself was... Well it was great, for lack of a better word. The evening itself was a little lackluster, to be honest with you." He sighed, thinking back on how Lysandre completely disappointed him. He glanced down to his TADS, thinking about how it had been upgraded with the man's technology.

The Aquan blinked. "So is that how we got these new Holo-thingies? My Zubat just dropped it on my lap a few days ago, so I figured we just got an upgrade because we got paid well for fixing this place, or something." He shrugged.
"Ah well. Sorry to hear the party was blemished by bad company."

He shrugged at the comment, "It's not like Aqua shouldn't be used to bad company." He decided to let the topic drop, "So, how are you liking your stay in Kalos?"

Rei paused to consider the question. "Well, from a selfish standpoint, I'm glad we're here because of the history. There's a lot of research material here. The climate's not bad, either. I can't wait to go to the badlands on Route 13." He stopped himself from getting too excited.
"So, I'd say I'm really enjoying my stay here. Are you?"

"Well, surprisingly, I actually am enjoying myself. I'm actually from Kalos, but don't have the best history with a fairly large number of people." Thankfully he had actually made up with a bunch of old friends. "If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them." He finally broke the seal on the bottle he'd been holding and took a few drinks of the water.

He grinned. "Thank you! That's a generous offer." With that, he stood, said his goodbyes, and retreated to his study.

Allen waved Rei out, "See ya!" He exited the kitchen as well, heading outside to see the quaint town. It too him a minute, but he finally settled down on the drawbridge with his feet hanging off the side over the moat. The man took a swig of his water and stared down into the clear water.

Maddy sauntered up to the castle and noticed Allen sitting on the side of the bridge as she started along it.
"Hey, Allen!" She greeted the boy, waving and giving him a smile. She sat down next to him.

"Oh, nothing really."
Maddy looked down at the water. It was crystal clear, just how she wanted it to be. A pair of Swanna swam out from under the bridge so they were in view now.
"It's a pretty nice day out. I hope it's this nice for our job tomorrow."

Allen nodded, "So what exactly are we doing then?" He watched the Swanna swim out further before turning to look back at Maddy.

Maddy crossed her arms and watched the Swanna as they followed the moat and eventually turned out of view. She let out a small sigh.
"The owner of Shabboneau wants us to retrieve something for him at that other castle... The fancy one only a route or two from here."
She wracked her brain, trying to remember the name.
"... Parfum Palace?"

Allen gave an exasperated sigh, "Uugh, the owner is a total jerk..." He leaned back, looking skyward, "I met him once, and had to pay money just to get into the place. It was ridiculously expensive. The butler gave our group the shortest tour of the inside and back garden. Worst 15 minutes of my life."
