Just be mindful of the record keepers." The acting kage picks up a pen, scribbles a small note that he then places into Kagerou's file before returning the folder back into the drawer. "I hope you didn't encounter any trouble getting here." He spoke while writing the note. "Reports of any hostile or suspicious activity would be of use to us."

Kagerou blinked and then considered. She was starting to feel that maybe Shi's throat sounds (because her rper didn't know if those thrums were meant to be "hm"s or "gr"s or Shihming) meant something. Though, with no further clues, she didn't bother worrying terribly much.
It was easy for Kagerou to set her priorities straight. Granted, she now felt even more awkward, and of course guilty as that guilty smile, glance aside, and pull of the ear made clear. Nevertheless, safekeeping her excuses in no way placed above village security in importance, which was why she spoke so easily now regardless of the efforts she took otherwise, "Because of some personal business, I summoned myself to a friend in the Wind Country shortly after leaving Kiri," she didn't need to say that she clearly understood this was a form of misconduct, her face showed that she knew already, "Therefore, I can only report on matters in the opposite direction, between Konoha and Suna. I noticed no hostile or suspicious activities when I traveled from Sunagakure to Takumi and then from Takumi to Konohagakure. The Sunagakure crevice gates appear to be sufficiently guarded, so hopefully their reconstruction and recovery is also going well. Likewise, Takumi is as busy and bustling as ever. If they've suffered any damages, you certainly can't see it from the main street. In fact, overall, travel was quite pleasant. There wasn't much around Sunagakure, it's still a desert and the village lends itself a strict military air at a single glance. Around Takumi and Konoha, on the other hand, there are multiple roadside shops geared towards serving travelers. They all appear to be well maintained, with no signs of distress from bandits or the like.

Shi blinked, watching and listening to Kagerou speak without otherwise moving a muscle. At the conclusion, he thrums that low note once again and shifts forward in his seat slightly. "For a report of no activity, you show a hint of being quite thorough." He remarks. After a second of deliberate, pointed, eye-contact, the acting kage continues. "You're free to leave and apply yourself to the task given." With that, Shi reveals the name of a clinic, it's location, speciality, and the name of the senior nurse Kagerou would need to speak to upon their arrival. "Best wishes, Kagerou."

Was she being judged? Shi's intense stare certainly gave Kagerou reason to think she was. However, difficult to unnerve as she was, she faced Shi's intense stare and throat gargling (still no answer, DEE) with a head-on smile through both her and his speech.
Kagerou briefly considered whether or not she should respond to being told that she spoke a lot. He did ask her earlier to talk about herself, but that was a couple exchanges ago already. She decided, as the details of the mission were given out, that she should just hold back here. It wasn't really anything she should be wasting the hokage's time with.
Still, since she'd already revealed that she had nyoomed through Takumi, the only thing stopping Kagerou from giving a souvenir was now gone.
Huh? What was that? Something something stay professional? Well, this was professional, right? Isn't it polite to bring over a small gift for the host when visiting? Kagerou had been planning to do this from the beginning with the sunflowers, except she left all of those on Sonyo's grave.
Kagerou's reply, "Yes, sir," was as ever, accompanied by a smile, "Oh, before I go, please accept this as a token of my appreciation for having me." It only took Kagerou a short moment, a twist of her wrist, a ring of her bells, and from the chakra manifestation that briefly appeared, she pulled out a trio of energy carrots. She walked over to the Hokage's desk and, with both hands, offered the carrots, "The shopkeeper told me these are great for restoring energy. Though, it works most effectively if taken right before going to sleep." Translation behind that smile and polite words: Please remember to go to sleep, Mr. Hokage.
Who could blame Kagerou for the concern? She barely knew Sypher as Mizukage, so the only two kages she could compare were Jack and Inka. Both never seemed to sleep. Jack always had huge shadows underneath his eyes. As for Inka? He was a single father, rumors painted him as a helicopter parent, as well as Mizukage. She couldn't imagine him getting much time to sleep.

Slowly and silently walking up the stairs to the Hokage's office, he could hear distant chattering beyond the door. Ichiryu assumed that the hokage was busy. But nonetheless, he will speak with the Hokage. Ichiryu knocked three times, well mannered and not to loud. After knocking, he opened the door. "Excuse me. I beg your pardon." He said while he stepped in the office for the Hokage.
Shi blinked in surprise - an actual, visible emotion showing on his partially visible features as he leaned back in surprise and tilted his head to observe Kagerou produce three root vegetables as a token of thanks. "... thank you." He said, in obvious surprise of the situation. The acting kage took the three vegetables, not wanting to offend any... custom, cultural or otherwise, that may be being played out here. He couldn't even suggest they be of use for the clinic patients and workstaff in case it would make him seem ungrateful. "I'll be sure they don't go to waste." He promises instead.
Three sharp knocks on the already open door catches Shi's attention, but his green eyes remain on Kagerou. "Thank you again for your work." He says to the Kiri nin, waiting for her departure before addressing Ichiryu. "How may I assist you?"

The pair of dark green eyes staring over the lip of the acting Hokage's mask visibly winced at the request. "Ah," He begins, leaning forward and placing his hands on the desk. "I'm afraid that is outside of my power." She explains. "As acting kage, I can only give missions - and even then, I'm restricted to what I can and cannot sanction. All I can do is pass along any recommendations to the individual whom takes the permanent seat of Hokage."

Kagerou is quick and quiet to leave after giving a final bow, vacating the office quietly so that the Hokage can continue his official matters unimpeded.
Only after she's out of earshot of the office does she reveal the amused smile she'd been trying hard to restrain, so hard that her lips actually squirmed a little under the tension. "What was with that face?" She'd only given the hokage a gift because she thought it might a good way to be polite, being a shinobi visiting from another village and all, but he'd looked at it like it was some sort of completely alien thing to do.
"Ah." The thought just struck her. "Perhaps it is an alien thing to do?". Pulling her ear, Kagerou just hoped she hadn't made him feel too uncomfortable. On the contrary, the gift giving was to, on top of showing her appreciation, help people feel comfortable around her.
Ichiryu was a tad bit disappointed that things are not going out as planned. "I can't say that I'm a bit disheartened by this. Then as the village's Acting Hokage, is there a mission that requires help from another village-liason work related?" Ichiryu asked if there is work that involves the village communing with other villages, but what he really wants is to get out of village and see the world a bit.
Shi tilted his head to the other side now, considering Ichiryu's request. "Mhm." He thrums, low in the back of throat "Well. I have a mission that does require someone higher than Genin rank. So you do qualify." He begins. "There are three genin you will need to take with you, should you accept. It is only a supply request to be delivered to Takumi, however. The only village open for visitors is Suna, and we do not have any missions available with them at this time."

Passing a green-haired girl on the way to the Hokage's office, Soraru Hiraite walked upstairs, clutching a string of beads close to his lips with a gentle grasp. He repeated a mantra with a tone that could barely be considered a whisper. It was used for the purpose of training. During his brief time back in the Iron Country under his former master's tutelage, Soraru was told that he needed to strengthen his soul before he worked on his body. He'd been more monk than swordsman since then, but still found the time to mix the two when it was necessary. Anxiety still plagued him, and he wasn't stronger than his own rampaging thoughts, so he knew that his training still had a long way to go. Making his way to the top of the stairs just as he did so many years ago, back before he was a Shinobi for Kumogakure, He walked through the open door and past the slightly taller red-haired man, making his way over to a side of the room with more furniture and grabbing a square cushion.
He walked until he was a couple of meters from the desk, and placed the cushion on the floor, sitting in a kneeling position while removing his weapons. He placed both his katana and wakizashi in front of him, grabbing his headband from the hilt of the weapon to put the symbol of Kumogakure into the acting Hokage's view. "I don't mean to interrupt, but I'd like to go over some matters of importance with you whenever you're done here. I'm sure you've heard the tragedy of the Great Blizzard of Kumogakure?" That should've been all the words necessary. The event mentioned took place back during Kaileer's time acting as Raikage, and relations were never truly re-established between the two villages since then. Not from one of the key survivors of the event, or a direct associate of the former Raikage.
He placed the headband down and went to fiddling around with some objects in his pouch. "Also, do you drink tea, Hokage-dono?" He asked politely, pulling out an insulated drinking container. It was both an offer and an insinuation that he would likely be there for a little while.
The truth is not what you want it to be. It is what it is, and you must bend to its power or live a lie. ♫
Dark green eyes remained on Ichiryu's features, keeping polite eye contact even as a new individual had arrived. As Soraru made their further and further into the room, Shi tilted his head to keep the newest arrival within his periphery vision. The acting Kage thrums a low note, deep in his throat. "Please," He accepts, only briefly giving his attention to Soraru before putting his focus solely on Ichiryu once more. "Apologies. Your answer?" He asks Ichiryou.

"I believe they would be training." Shi adds as he stands up to hand over the neatly folded piece of paper. "Best of luck." The acting Kage watches Ichiryou's leave the room, hands clasped behind his back, before he would turn his attention to the stranger seated to the side.
"I don't believe I caught a name, mister...?" Shi tilts his head, watchful and curious even as he joined the younger male on a cushion of his own on the floor, opposite the newest arrival.
