herby62 calculators? who needs such foolish things!?!? I do all complicated math equations in my head!!! seriously, though. I still use my parents' old calculators. it's like, older than I am. OTL xXx You're just jealous that the voices only talk to me~♫ That makes two of us.
"Pfft, I'm not buying a $50 scientific calculator. You can use mine from when I was your age." "BUT, MUM! THEY'VE ADDED MORE FRICKEN BUTTONS SINCE 1980!" xXx

The next generation probably won't even use calculators. Everything will be Excel.

That's if they even conceivably think for themselves any longer. We went to a restaurant and a black out occurred. A 16 year old waitress needed a calculator to subtract the $30.50 we gave her from $23.40 bill and her boss had to tell her that. The stumped/hopelessly befuddled expression the girl wore wasn't funny. gonk
I'm genuinely concerned for my generation; having to tell future students most numbers don't come out of thin air, and that the calculator doesn't have audio abilities shouldn't be high-school conversation.

Sabriel! I know that book! when I was in LA, I was in a laundry room, and that book was on one of the machines. no one else was around, and I had to wait for my laundry, so I sat down and read a little of it. it was really fascinating.

Actually, my first introduction to the book was on Twilight Sucks, back in December of last year...at least, I think that's when the site's book club decided to read it. ... Okay, I actually read American Gods, but I checked Sabriel out too, for good measure. Never got around to reading it, and returned it a day or two short of being overdue. xD

I haven't tried any new level things honestly, and when I did, I was used as rape-bait for some guy who was 2 levels lower then he should be. crying ...I felt like the lead pokemon taking all the hits so that experience share holding abra can get points for nothing.
