I wrote a drabble.

And my boyfriend got me sick, so I am feeling like total ick. Dry eyes, sore throat, coughing... and I feel like that feeling when you get water up your nose, only 24/7. It sucks, haha. I'm gunna try and eat lotsa soup and stuff, I don't have a temp or anything so that's good.

Hi. :3

X3 I haven't posted any of it yet. I'm letting it sit in Word for some reason.

I have a little brother, but we now live in separate portions of the country, it feels like I'm an only child. Kat's pretty much an only child because he brother is WAY older than her.

Aww. gonk

*Leaps on a broom and flies off to read the drabble*

Jess and I are watching the ANVs (Adult Movie Awards). I have to say this is one of the most interesting/fun things I've ever watched. Like, I know it's probably a harsh, dirty business, but....man it looks like they're having so much fun being so slutty. XD

I'm watching Andrew Zimmerman's bizarre foods. biggrin

It's.... hilarious. And gross. But hilarious.

ANVs???? D: Are they the ones that give like, the awards that look like pen0rs? *Lolseriousfaceword*

Not as blah as yesterday, still a bit blah. COOKIE!!!! *NOMSURHAND*

Er... well... someone died, is all. One of my mom's boyfriend's cousins, and we're such a small town that everyone knows each other... so one of my mom's friends was best friends with her in high school, and another was friends with her now, and of course there are like, 20 cousins.
I dunno. Maybe I'm... apathetic is the word? I mean, the woman was 29 and had an almost one year old baby, and mom got sent a picture of him and was all like 'Aww, isn't he cute? Come look at him! He has such chubby cheeks!' and just cooing and stuff... and I'm like 'We just saw him IN PERSON like, 3 weeks ago at the anniversary thing, and you didn't even pay more than a minute of attention to him. stare '

Like people are just so fascinated with being.... I dunno... sad but not really. Like they want to wallow in the not-sadness and make everyone else wallow in it with them. It just annoys me because... it's like she/they expect me to feel things that I can't/don't/am not going to feel over it all. And are watching to see if I do or not, and make me feel weird that I don't. :/

I really don't think I feel things right though, and I can't really express the way I feel in the right way. I've never cried at a funeral or felt much at one though, it's a general feeling of 'Oh boy, stuck in a room wearing clothes I loathe and would never wear regularly with relatives I'm too awkward to talk to for a few hours and a dead person in a casket, and then we'll go eat fried chicken... sigh...'

I'm not going to say much about how she died because there's a chance that there could be some... inquiry about it.. or at least about her baby and child services needing to be called, and I don't want to type anything that might get someone in trouble.... my mom's like.. the rumour/knowledge center of the universe, and already knows/heard some things she shouldn't. It was accidental though..... but there's some questions because the guy she was dating/the dad of the baby isn't as nice as he appeared.

*Typed up a lot more than this ranting about mom/her not-boyfriend and how I feel like a jerk because when they talk on the phone it irritates me to the point of wanting to smash the phone/ block out the sound of the voice(s)*

Geeze. *Flails* I think I've typed the equivalent of five pages of crap up within the past few months and then just deleted it because it's theraputic just to type it out. xD

I have a srsbusiness question for you guys:

Do you think society makes victims of people in order to further its own agenda? And not only makes victims of people, but makes them FEEL like victims even if they hadn't before, and in that way becomes the abuser?

I was just reading that Australia is moving towards internet censorship- and using a common platform to get the ball rolling, so to speak. But of course it was going behind things in the meanwhile and basically blocking sites because of their own strong opinions- not necessarily because those sites were at all illegal. Basically non-illegal sites that are ones where people express their own opinions that are not opinions that the people in charge of blocking want expressed.

I guess I'm inciting a debate about internet censorship. :/

Hm.... should I move this to the community forum? I dunno. XD

And internet censorship always moves back to the most prominent platform- child exploitation.......... but the thing is that not only do people use this to get their own way on very unrelated things, but.......

Well... does society actually make it worse with their victimizing and their opinions? If society has the power to make someone feel victimized where they hadn't before, shouldn't society be blamed and punished for it? And should it be stopped?

I guess it's just late at night, and I'm thinking again how things go in circles....... how you can't say your opinion is better because it's only better to you, and thinking about how all the important arguments go in circles because no one is really right because no one opinion is right...

Or about how any arguments I have go in circles because ultimately I'm only one person... I'm an individual, not a big wig, not rich, not in any way influential........ certainly I'm not a mass of people with like ideas who can move like a great beast and actually really do anything...

So I can express my opinions all I want, but then again I really can't, because some topics society doesn't like talked about and immediately punishes you for it...

And then people feel uncomfortable even skirting around saying what they really want to say, so as not to incite the wrath of individuals or society.

And then you're just basically by yourself with your opinions, with no one to share it with because most people are so much a part of society that they believe what society believes, at the same time they believe they're believing it all on their own, with no help from anyone else, but that's not true at all.

So you can't ever say some things you want to say because there's such a great potential for being attacked by it, by being shunned from society, even though you don't want to press your opinions on anyone, you just want to see what theirs is so you can better form your own opinions and beliefs, because you need information in order to conclude a firm final opinion-

But then there you are, a part of society again, taking society's beliefs and making them your own, but at the same time deluding yourself sometimes that the thoughts and beliefs are your own.

But they aren't, because everything belongs to society.

.......

I just read a...... well.. interesting article. :/ One lots of people would probably screech at, but.... some parts were very interesting, especially about how some large groups might use certain issues for their own personal gain, but don't actually help solve the issue at all.... they just keep using it as a cover to further their own agenda behind the backs of the very uninformed and sheep-like society.

And then they slowly actually start to take over the world with it. And how it's likely that the driving force behind it is actually religion.

Which just affirms my opinion that organized religion hurts the world just as much as it helps people. (It's not an issue of getting rid of religion, that's impossible, we'll forever be looking for that one flawless leader who knows everything and can take care of everything and make us happy, I think that's a part of the basic instinctual need of every living creature)

I'm just very philosophical at near 3 in the morning. xD

Well, Jesus, Cassy, drop the 'srs business' topics on us xp

In regards to the apathetic thing - I don't know, human beings are bizarre creatures. With intelligence came the flawed response system to events (emotions) but also with intelligence came this need to draw up some sort of unspoken list of "correct" ways to use said emotions. I'm bipolar and manic (hurhur so emo xp ) so my emotions are a bit less.. reasonable than the average person. Feeling random bouts of sadness, anger, or hysterical joy at times I shouldn't has taught me that emotions are, mostly, completely useless and therefore shouldn't be regulated because they solve nothing. If sadness accomplishes nothing, then why dictate when sadness should occur?

Not to say they aren't occasionally useful - the rush of adrenaline associated with anger can help someone accomplish physical things they usually can't, for example - but because they are mostly worthless going out of one's way to try and set up guidelines to 'using' them is a waste of time.

I need a second post for this next one X3

The issue with censorship is that though the majority may feel a certain way, there will always be a select few who feel very strongly about the opposite direction. For example, if America began blocking the websites founded in other countries that promote child pornography or videos of men castrating themselves for sexual satisfaction, the majority would probably support its decision. But there would still be a portion of the population who would be outraged because a) they do not feel the topics are immoral, b) they believe it is their own responsibility to avoid the sites, or c) they feel that if a country takes that first step, they will only become worse about blocking things they do not morally or politically agree with (such as opposing opinions.)

And in this case, child pornography does have something to do with it in that in other countries it is an acceptable concept, and that even in our own society there are those who think it is acceptable as well. (I could probably go into a lengthy rant on my feelings about it, but because my feelings are the minority and there are so many complications involved, I’ll leave that alone - proving your point hurhur.) But most Americans believe it is not. So we throw down the law and make it illegal.

What it comes down to, really, is judging not the moral decisions of a body of government but the government’s success. Because all governments make decisions based on morals (making murder illegal, for example) and set up a system to prevent those immoral actions (such as sending murderers to jail); additionally, even America is in the business of Internet Censorship, because if I downloaded child pornography I might eventually get in trouble for it even though I was not involved in its filming. A government’s success does not necessarily fall on its ability to serve its people, or its skill in managing the economy, etc, but in its knack for surviving in this worldwide collection of countries. Though there are hundreds of forms of government, what I find funny is the forms that we turn our noses at as Americans - socialism, communism, dictatorships - are in most cases still thriving across the ocean somewhere. And they, like us, can make whatever moral decisions they want for whatever reason, but for the most part they remain entirely intact minus a few angry citizens protesting the decisions, just like us.

What I am trying to say is that governments will do as they please, and until the minority becomes the majority on particular topics and a political/physical revolution occurs, censorship comes hand-in-hand with the moral decisions they make. And you can’t really associate moral decisions with a failing government because many of the countries already practicing Internet Censorship are still kicking. So they will use members of their own country as scapegoats, the media as a fear-inducer, etc etc, to get their own morals involved in their laws.

HAHAHA. I hate talking about this stuff because it DOES go in circles, because in the end you are completely right in saying no one is wrong because it’s all based on morals and opinions. If I talk about how I believe you should be able to shoot and kill anyone trying to steal from you, someone will just come along and debate about how we’re no longer cavemen blah blah blah; and I’ll agree and disagree based on their rantings and it just goes in endless circles.

Now, with religion, everything you said is true - it is often used as a tool to force or influence a minority’s morals/opinions onto a majority. But, religion isn’t the only thing used in that way. The education system is just as useful for that method of influence. Actually, religion has actually become a scapegoat in that aspect since when people talk about it they rarely talk about other organized bodies like the education system, etc etc, is just as dangerous in that respect. People will use ANYTHING to push their morals/opinions on others.
